Projection
I wish the projection I’m writing about was Astral. I wish the people I’m writing about were permenantly floating out of their bodies, or at least until they came to their senses.
Nancy Pelosi, Rham Emmanuel, Harry Reid, and, well, the rest of the Democratic Party, have decided to project their policy and political ambitions with regard to the war in Iraq, onto you and me - - people who were not offered the opportunity to vote on any proposed national law or referendum regarding Iraq, but who instead were only offered the opportunity to vote in local elections for representatives to the Federal Government.
During the campaign, very few of those who were elected looked the American People in the eye and told them they intended to vote for an arbitrary cut-off date for the war, or a call to bring the troops home within weeks. Yet the Dems now claim they were elected to do exactly that. Perhaps they need to be reminded that they were elected in the United States of America, not Fantasy Island.
Pelosi et. al. are overplaying their hand, overinterpreting the fact that local elections allowed the Democrats a slim Congressional and Senate Majority. Somehow they have interpreted this to mean, clearly and unequivocally, that the American people want a complete pullout from Iraq, regardless of the consequences. . They have interpreted it to mean that the American people do not support the surge. A surge the reckless and ridiculous Democrats themselves supported when they unanimously approved General Petraeus to lead it. They keep stating that the American People somehow voted the Democratic Party in as part of a national referendum to immediately begin a withdrawal from Iraq. There is no evidence to support such self-serving wishful thinking. The only thing that supports that contention is their desire for it to be true.
Would anyone who voted on such a referendum please scan and email me their ballot? ‘Cos if it was out there and I didn’t get to vote on it due to some voter fraud conspiracy, I’m gonna be pissed.
And if anyone is dying and would like to leave their brain to Chuck Hagel, please call him at (202) 224-4224.
Amen, Pat! You are absolutely correct. I don’t remember anything on the ballots stating that the American people wish for a cut and run policy. Also, everyone needs to wake up about these damned polls. They don’t mean a friggin thing! I, nor anyone else I know, have never once gotten a phone call from anyone asking how I feel about the war, our Commander in Chief or anything else for that matter. America needs to wake up and band together. What’s really scary is when OUR country allows extreme Muslims to gather in OUR streets to spread their anti-American sentiments of hate toward Americans - seems to be working . . . look what’s happening in Congress. Those friggin dimwits are falling for the rhetoric and right into terrorists hands!
March 29th, 2007 at 9:25 amWhat the hell is wrong with these people? I think we should fire everyone in congress and start over with a congress made of average working americans. I think the elected representatives of our country should actually be from this country, not fantasy island.
March 29th, 2007 at 9:27 amHey, Pat! Rush Limbaugh just brought you up on his radio program, citing the “Vanity Fair” article on you and your work in progress “Young Americans”, and he’s in the process, in these very moments, of reading your post “Projection” on the program! Woo Hoo!
March 29th, 2007 at 9:53 amRight on Pat! Stay strong because, as you already know, the wacky leftist radicals are gunning for you. Keep up the kick ass work!!!
March 29th, 2007 at 9:56 amIt’s weird. I’m listening to Rush read this to me while I’m reading it.
Good on ya, Pat.
March 29th, 2007 at 10:08 amThank GOD someone from the Hollywood “hills” has the balls to put the truth out on film to far too many brain dead Americans who only form their shallow opinions by watching Hollywood Left produced videos & movies and the MSM 6 o’clock evening propaganda.
Cripes, I hope this country wakes up before it’s too late! It already is in Europe.
March 29th, 2007 at 10:08 amThe Democrat group hid during last fall’s elections and stood for nothing. Where is this mandate they think they have? And as far as our friend Chuck, I have a gold fish that would gladly five up its life in pursuit of a functioning brain for the poor senator.
March 29th, 2007 at 10:10 amRight on Target Pat:
Thank you. I am tired of being told what my opinion is. I really believe what the Dems did here is illegal and I want to know what I can do to make sure they are charged and prosecuted with:
1- unconstitutional overreaching of the separation of powers
2- vote buying
3- lying about what the american people want
I’m serious! Where do I start?
March 29th, 2007 at 10:18 amRight on Target Pat:
I’m so infuriated that I posted this with wrong email addredd the first time, so here it is again…..

March 29th, 2007 at 10:22 amI heard your comments on Rush today. I also have been amazed that the Democrat’s have morphed their thin election victory into a mandate to create defeat in Iraq.
I agree with others that you need to brace yourself, as you certainly will be under “Special” assault from the Lunatic of the Left.

March 29th, 2007 at 11:06 amMan, do I like your style.
You are absolutely right about the Dems.
Their damned partisan devotion to themselves, and not the US of A I grew up in, leads me to do what I’ve never done before … I’m going to work hard, very hard, to help any and all non-Dems get elected - Federal, State and Local - in the future unless and until the Dems do a complete 180 and become Americans again.
March 29th, 2007 at 11:08 amAnd to top it all off, the Senate passed the “Iraq war spending bill.” (Also known to you and me as, “Hoodwinking the General Public and Specifically Our Troops.”)
Apparently, according to some Republicans, they let it through so Bush could veto it ASAP and get on with crafting a genuine bill that will help our troops. I’m not entirely convinced.
Nonetheless, I hope Bush vetoes this fucker faster than anyone can say, “Democrats suck.”
March 29th, 2007 at 11:14 amBecause of Rush’s show, I went out there to check out this site….very nice and spot on bro!

March 29th, 2007 at 11:43 amFYI
I don’t know how Pat and comment co. feel about citing other sites here, but powerlineblog.com is running this just now:

A campaign by active-duty troops asking Congress to drop plans for a withdrawal from Iraq. Lt. Jason Nichols, a 33-year-old naval projects officer who has been in Baghdad since mid-January, said the goal is to keep lawmakers focused on letting the military finish its mission in Iraq, and not prematurely declare failure

March 29th, 2007 at 12:22 pmThis is what we get with “San Francisco Values”: a stronger enemy, and a weaker, more corrupt society. It is up to us to lead the leaders, and back our troops. We are all that stand in the way of preserving the greatest nation man has ever known. It all starts with good men and women like Pat Dollard, getting out the word and providing a forum for like minded people.
March 29th, 2007 at 12:32 pmDoesn’t congress realize that Flight 93 on 9/11 was headed right towards them. It’s because of 40 extremely brave and couragous people that they are alive.
What do they show for it… voting for a pathetic bill that treats our troops with such disdain!!!
Disgusting!!!
They didn’t get the Capital on 9/11. They will try again. Just like they didn’t bring down the WTC in 1993. They are patient. Just something to think about.
March 29th, 2007 at 12:49 pmCongress needs to look at the latest Opinion Dynamics Poll out.
30% approve of the job Congress is doing, while 54% disapprove.

March 29th, 2007 at 1:07 pmExcellent Piece! You have put into words what so many of us believe. I am tired of being told the American people want to retreat from Iraq. As MacArthur said, “There is no substitute for victory.”
Keep up the good work!
March 29th, 2007 at 3:57 pmIn the military oath, our servicemen and women vow to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Does that include Congress?
Give ‘em hell, Pat!
March 29th, 2007 at 4:16 pmpk
Maybe it’s time for us to do what our founding fathers said to do when the gov. stops working for us. Let’s go to Washington and take our country back , by force if nessecary. There is a lot of fed up military out there.
March 29th, 2007 at 4:21 pmI came to your blog after Rush talked about you on his show. This article fully encompasses my feelings on what is going on. That you so much for articulating it for be and giving me a place to send people.
March 29th, 2007 at 4:45 pmRight On!
It is quite difficult to understand how any member of Congress could screw around with military funding with our troops in harms way….not considering it important enough for them to resolve before yet another holiday break!
Do you suppose they will offer a prayer for our troops while enjoying their “Holiday” Dinner?
Especially irrating is the fact that so many of these individuals served our country. They should feel ahsamed.
I can understand have a flat out vote to end the war, cut the funding and bring the troops home (yet another bad choice) but to play this sneaky game of delay is sickening.
I would be surprised if this Congress isn’t bombarded with letters of contempt from family members of our troops.
March 29th, 2007 at 4:58 pmOur number one domestic enemies that our military is sworn to defend us against is nancy pelosi and the kooks she represents. She is an enemy of freedom, democracy and the american way of life and i question is perhaps she is having her pockets lined by the bribes of our foreign enemies, like that one scottish parliamentarian in britain.
March 29th, 2007 at 5:31 pmWith all due respect to my elders (and quite often my betters) the American citizen needs to remove the entrenched Dinosaurs from both sides of the aisle from office. They are so out of touch it is a comedy of errors and of tragic proportions to have the over-the-hill gang leading us down the primrose. Those MUG-shots at the top of this article are the proof I offer.

March 29th, 2007 at 7:37 pmPelosi et. al. are overplaying their hand, overinterpreting the fact that local elections allowed the Democrats a slim Congressional and Senate Majority.
I couldn’t agree with you more. They are fully invested in defeat, and can’t afford a victory. I am so vexed by this Congress and the fact that they overwhelmingly approved Gen. Petraues, just to turn around and slow bleed his efforts.
It’s embarrissing.
March 29th, 2007 at 7:41 pmIn my opinion this is the democrats reaching out for the only platform they even remotely have a chance with. They are trying to get a democrat elected for president and taking advantage of anti-war bullshit, lack of information and misinformation to the american public. Liberals do a great job of making people think they are smart and having no idea of their own. They simply wait for republicans to do something, hope people get mad about it, then turn the opposite of what the republicans did into their idea. It is a sad and pathetic tactic that I hope does not work. Sadly there are many impressionable minds in the US who will eat this bullshit like cornflakes (in a bowl with milk and a cut up banana ).
And lastly I hate to sound like a dick but when did it become customary to do what the American people sitting in their homes enjoying democracy and capitlism want at the cost of what the soldiers fighting and dying want?
As I am soon to be a soldier I hope to hell a republican gets elected. The democrats will kill us to get votes.
March 29th, 2007 at 9:22 pmThank you, Pat. I have been around a long time and have followed politics pretty carefully, and I knew from the ’60s that our country was heading in the direction it has taken when the hippies, ultra liberals, and violent protesters actually got away with crimes that had any one person, individually, committed would have been arrested, tried, and probably incarcerated. Somehow our leaders seem to believe that if a group is willing to be physical that they should be believed or tolerated or ignored. It is as though the rest of us do not matter. The America that I knew from 1938 until 1964 no longer exists. Do I blame the leftists? Not exclusively. I blame a lazy and disinterested and uninformed public who have allowed the wrong people to be elected rather than take the time and trouble to invest some time in learning about candidates before voting. I blame that same lazy public when they do not pay close attention to what those elected officials do and say. Do I know the answer to our problems? I do know one answer, but it is not one I would voice at this time. Suffice to say that nothing we have tried in regaining our country has worked since our Independence was gained all those years ago when men and women understood how to be honorable and patriotic. What they worked for and gained has been squandered. I have hope when I read posts such as this one and comments such as those before mine. I came to this post from lucianne.com, another very fine site. I am with you all. God Bless America!
March 30th, 2007 at 5:41 amI just discovered you. My adopted solier in Iraq just sent me your link. My God…a real man with balls from Hollywood. It’s a miracle. Thank you for this. I talk regularly with soldiers in Iraq via e-mail and it’s so comforting to know that someone like you is on their side. I was a liberal before I moved to San Fran 4 years ago, but after opening my eyes to what’s really going on in the world, I am ready to fight liberalism to the death. Let me know where I can sign up. Thank you again.
March 30th, 2007 at 9:36 amMilla
How bout this…
Class action lawsuit against the Demo-craps congress for 200 billion dollars and then donate procides to the DOD to fight the war to win (IE: Kill, destroy, put the fear of God in the bad guys)
Think they might understand that “MANDATE”??????
