In Evan Sayet’s video, he spoke to us all about the holy canon of liberalism, developing the indiscriminate mind. Believing say, that one religious choice is better than another one, or not one at all, actually having a conviction in other words, is a sign of an inferior mind. It is a sign of having the commonly used pejorative “neanderthal” mind. To me, if you really believe in your religion, and are going to structure the household you raise your children in around it, you better fucking think your choice is the best one, or what did you make it for? The two most striking thing in this “I’m like, a Muslim” video, is that the secular society and essentially conviction-less household she grew up in LEFT HER EMPTY IN THE DEEPEST AND MOST PROFOUND OF WAYS. She was left with an intolerable spiritual emptiness, and had to go fending for it herself, since she wasn’t getting it from secular America or a father who apparently lacks such commitment in his own religion, that the only thing that came to mind was that she was a “freethinker”. He thought that this was just awesome, about the best thing she could do. She was abandoning the traditional, and embracing it’s most direct challenge. Liberal Dogma at It’s Finest. It’s better to be a free thinker, than a good thinker, apparently. When asked what he thought when she told him she was leaving the family’s religion and choosing Islam, her father also says “I wasn’t that surprised”. What the hell does that mean? He wasn’t surprised because his own faith was dying on the vine, maybe? It’s somewhere between hilarious and tragic that so many are so unable to defend their faith; that they are almost ashamed of it. What has caused this, and if you think it’s good, please explain why. Had he no convictions of his own that society supported and were as spiritually fulfilling to her as they have been for millions before her? There is no way of knowing any of the answers from this snippet of video, but the possibility that the spiritual emptiness of secularism, and the wishy washy attitude toward God in the modern “sophisticated” home, are leading young converts to Islam is certainly something worth studying. Make no bones about it, Allah wants your children if your God doesn’t it. And clearly your children want a God. And the population of Islam, including your friends’ parents in Islam, will bring your children to God, if you and your church won’t. They’re lives are built around their religion. And we can deride religion, but why do all of our children seek God? What if there is a God, and what if our society so fails the nurturing of that God in our children, that so inept in our responsibility they are left abandoned in the spiritual wilderness? And why are so many modern scientists turning to God? God and Religion once worked hand in hand. Their divorce was a man-made sham, but we don’t have time for all that shit here. Let us not forget Leftism’s problem with religion: if you think you have the right to discriminate and determine what is good, especially in terms of a religious doctrine, you are a neanderthal-minded, automatically, if inadvertantly, evil man. Watch.

It is no surprise to this son of free thinkers, that children of such end up turning to religion because their parents didnt want to do the hard things to set their kids on the right course. After lots of drugs, flirting with alcohol and fucking everything that moved, i also felt an emotional and spiritual shallowness that led me as a liberal to harken back to the roots of my beliefs. Since parents are inept, i must look to government to fill the void and become my parent, but i also needed a spiritual connection: Islam fit the bill.

Many liberals today are turning to islam because it fits their need for a paternalistic governing body ruling over the masses who need parenting bad, and the best thing about islam is that it has divine sanction. We are stalinists at heart and we have no problem with tyrants as long as they purport to be for the common man and woman and arent racist in any way. Islam was portrayed that way to me. However, i studied the faith through history and read the quran and hadith in english to discern best, and realized that islam, though certainly containing some spiritual dimension, was devoid of the element of Love for all humanity. justice extended only to the believers, just as it had to some extent in judaism and in some christian circles. the difference was the justification of murder for mere words, for theft, and the degredation of women. I also must mention the histroy of slavery being not only mentioned in the quran but sanctioned. This included laborers and sex slaves. this slavery is still practiced in sudan, mauritaania and parts of niger. In fact the word for slave “abed” means black.

needless to say, i am no longer a liberal nor a muslim, but that is because i was able to see through the constant brainwashing that my imam was trying to inculcate in me. He kept the focus on the white man and made excuses for escesses of islam and muhammed. after a while he just said to me , “why are you a muslim?” I said “because you said it was a religion of justice and peace” then i asked him; “why are you a muslim?” and he said” because “islam is truth”. I said ” you will have to do better than that. he said it doesnt matter because i am on my way to apostasy. After that i expected the threats to come so i left that place and moved out of the country and changed my name.

In my studies i learned the penalty for apostacy. Liberals today hate conservatives in their own countries so much that they will ally themselves with any group or cause that will cause conservatives as much hardeache as possible. I have been there. but some liberals are still searching and using their brains , these are the ones we need to reach out to and help them overcome.

islam is an evil religion that provokes people to commit the most outrageous evils. i compare muhammed and clerics of today to charles manson with a much wider audience.

    be cautious

angela is a seeker of some sort of definition. she’s kept her name, angela, because it’s probably the only thing definite her parents did give her.

left to her own devices, she’s found something that completely finishes that definition of herself. to finally learn rules and regulations; and so many interesting rules and regulations that are so uniquely foreign to anything she’s ever known! what happiness to discover such purpose through such all-encompassing dogmatic regulation!

to show how deep is her purposeful dedication, she’s gone far–she’s swaddled her supposed western-prized good looks and bagged herself in one nice neat, multi-purpose, au current propaganda package. and, she has a useful, great job that shows off this dedication and purpose.

she’s so useful, i don’t think the people using her will challenge angela to accept another name or think too critically about the ideology she’s now associated herself with.

good luck, angela…may you keep your youth and blue-eyed good looks for as long as you need them while perhaps acquiring some critical thinking skills…and if apostasy is not in your future, i wish the present velvet glove treatment may always be yours

This is why we will inevitably lose. We can win every battle against islam but the war is going so terribly against us. It is not enough to win in Iraq, in fact I think that by winning, even though it is the best thing in the short term, it will do nothing to make Americans learn what this is all about. We need a religion. The protestants are too scattered, there is nothing pulling them all together. The Catholic Church is so universal that they have no convictions. The pope is so weak it sickens me. The popes of old brought us together against islam, we need a militant pope. The only religion that has a thread of hope to see the west through the onslaught of islam is honestly mormonism. We need a religion that keeps birth rates up, nurtures people spiritually from birth to death, and creates moral, loyal people. There is no religion in the west that does this outside mormonism. The only problem with them is that they are not militant enough, but they do still have active “prophets” so they can change their dogma as they see fit, and they are ever viligant and changing to threats to their religion. I will probably convert in 10 years if things don’t get better (got too much drinkin to do ’till then). Either that or we need a new religion. Our government will never be able to do what it needs to do to stop this threat. We can’t even get a border fence up, we are as pathetic as europe in many ways. We need leadership in this country, we need an f’ing monarchy.

    Poverty of principle.
If one does not know what to believe in, one can be made to believe in anything.

Modern Liberalism’s mantra is “do not discriminate” and the mantra forces a lack of belief in right or wrong - no principles.

Modern Liberalism in our society, schools, and Most dangerously in our govt has already begun its destruction of America.
I’ve been looking fervently for the past month or so for hope. For a solution. For a way to turn the tide. I’m not finding a network - just a bunch of fragmets.

I am afraid nothing to see here!!
These are the same losers who joined “hippy” comunities in the 60’s (remember Charles manson’s girl, same toubled up bringings, broken homes and the lot)and sects in the 70’s and 80’s, these are the losers every generation has and will have. Islam is the flavor of the month, just to go against the flow and in some ways common sense as well.
Statistics say 30% will leave within a year anyway!!!
Now, let them do it, they will come to realize and just like someone said before, Islam is like “Hotel California”…

From someone in Europe and for everyone here and for Pat specially, keep up the good word my man…

    Bless you all dudes!!

D_Mac: You’re probably not going to find a more militant Catholic than me. For comparison’s sake, Reagan (great as he was) wasn’t conservative enough for me. And this comes from a former liberal. (I wasn’t totally moonbat, but enough to firmly classify myself as a liberal.)

Of course, it goes without saying that a large portion of my brethren (both clergy and laity) are dumbasses—and I pick no bones with them when calling them on it. That can’t be helped with a group this large.

I don’t think *we* will lose; it’s the idiots who buy into this utopian vision of peace, love and understanding that will lose. Who they’re going to take along with them is the bigger question. It’s just damage control at this point. We’re just going to pick up the pieces.

what we need is the unification of the christian churches, to find a way to bridge all schisms, and to stand up with sword and shield in hand. to quote an arab account of the battle of tours -

“And in the shock of the battle the men of the North seemed like a sea that cannot be moved. Firmly they stood, one close to another, forming as it were a bulwark of ice; and with great blows of their swords they hewed down the Arabs. Drawn up in a band around their chief, the people of the Austrasians carried all before them. Their tireless hands drove their swords down to the breasts of the foe.”

So were they drinking Johnnie Walker scotch? I hope not, my son, who is in the IZ (green zone) right now, loves the scotch. Will that make him a traitor? He should drink good old Bourbon like his old man.

Pat Dollard, your website is awesome. Amazing how digging for and communicating hard objective truth can be spiritually moving.

Speaking of spiritually moving, I’m tired of the Christianity getting rapped as “weak”. If people want to know the God of Christianity, then read the Holy Bible in entirety. That is God, strong and victorious.

If a person rejects the Bible’s description of God, fine, then they can make their own god, but don’t call it Christian. Without knowing all the facts, how can one make an informed statement?

Warriors, if you want to read about nobility in action and a man “after God’s own heart”, start with I & II Samuel in the Old Testament.

Pat, “ah-rah!” on your photos. Airstrikes and thundering chain guns are next to “the smell of napalm in the morning.” Smells like victory!

maybe the network is the world wide web! education is a great remedy, and here’s where you’ll get it. i’ve read some of your great posts in other threads that have made me think. stay optimistic, john! look at the great people in pat’s films! and the thoughtful, funny, and uplifting comments posted on this site.

maybe when angela finds out that “love your neighbor as yourself” isn’t part of her new flavor of the month (right, rst), she’ll become another wafa sultan.

it might feel like we’re down sometimes, but trust the surprises, the pendulum is always swinging…

I was raised Catholic, my brother is Catholic and similar to me and you in belief. The problem is that we are the exception not the rule, and our militantism is a break from Church dogma. What we need is old testament style smiting of our enemies. Fire and brimstone shit in here.

You say we will pick up the pieces, I don’t know.

What happens in 50-80 years when multiple european countries are under Sharia law? What happens when England gets bred out from the inside and islamists are voted in as the prime minister? What happens when Islamo-England goes to war on us? This shit will happen before too long. Europe will never be the same. We stopped Hitler because of European allies. What do we do with a muslim europe?

You see we have no defense against this without a strong religion, or else there will be a spiritual vacuum waiting to be filled with Islam. The problem in America is that it is ok to be islamic here, therefore we can never really keep it out. Islam is Islam. It teaches Jihad at it’s core. They will out bread us and by the time people like you are ready to fight they will have control of our military through the senators that are representing them. Don’t believe me? They already have Keith Elison. He won’t seem like a problem now but what happens when there is a majority of muslims in the senate? Will they allow christianity? alcohol? pigs? women to show their hair and faces? Do you really doubt any of this? How many years off are we, and what miraculous event are we waiting for that will turn this tide around?

the only thing is uniting churches isn’t really the answer.

First off it would be too difficult to accomplish. Second what we need is more organized than current churches, and more militant. We can’t accomplish a defense of this country with the teaching’s of the new testament alone. The new testament is great when applied to internal matters within our own people. But it is the example of the old testament and the orders of cursading knights that should be imitated, not demonized.

What’s wrong with this al Gela…oops…Angela picture?
There is so much more to this story than the reporterette gave us and I’m guessing a big part of that story is that there is another recent love in Angela’s life besides Allah. Like, this really totally hunk muslim dude that might like, totally play some small role in Angela’s awesome conversion.
But rather than just speculate, there are three things we do know from the story that explains all I need to know to figure out where Angela is coming from - California, blonde, teacher.

    John PA said,

    ‘Poverty of principle.
If one does not know what to believe in, one can be made to believe in anything.’

Hey John, how do you know that what you believe in, isn’t already what you were made to believe in. Beliefs should not be hard fast rules, they should be subject to periodic challenges, by yourself and others, and upgraded accordingly into better and more educated beliefs. The obvious problem, is how is can you trust your education and the source it comes from, which is where logic comes into play.

Liberals and Conservatives both have some sound beliefs, and both political spectrums have much room to improve by arguing with one another and debating.

If you ask me (which you didn’t heheh), the Romans, and in particular the city of Rome, who founded the original Democratic and Republican parties, used to have meetings where the citizens would gather with the politicians and vote on the questions of the day by show of hand. If only we had a system like this today.

  22. john courage

i agree almost completely with you d_mac, my only exception is that more current churches tend to pick parts out of the bible that they like and refuse to teach the rest. as for fighting being against church dogma, i dont think it really is. Jesus said to love your neighbor as yourself. however, when a man standing nearby heard this he asked, “but who is our neighbor rabbi?” and Jesus went on to explain that your neighbor is the man beset by thieves. i think you can safely assume that those outside of this “neighbor” classification could include not just thieves, but also any people who are part of a movement to kill and subdue Christian nations to the will of islam. uniting the churches may be too high an ideal to achieve, but uniting Christians in the face of this threat is absolutely necessary.

  23. PhilNBlanx

Forgive me for butting in DO but I’m really at a loss. Could you please name just one “sound belief” the modern lib***l espouses? I long ago abandoned the concept that defeat is a sound belief - Except when it comes to appeasing Mrs. Blanx of course.

Further, to expand on your Rome analogy, it is wishful thinking indeed to think the fascists (currently disguised as Democrats) would defend their (honest)positions with the people when they refuse to even meet with their own President on something as important as defense spending. If that’s not convincing, consider these same “Representatives of the people” refuse to argue their views before the people in a scheduled debate on the leading cable News Channel, Fox. Yet these same Democrats are eager to engage in “dialogue” with leaders of the the two governments most responsible for terrorism in the world today, Iran and Syria so they can pretend to speak for the government of Israel. Sound beliefs?

The sooner Americans realize the Democrats are more interested in what’s best for them to gain/retain political power than what’s best for America, the better off America will be. Of course the same thing could be said for many of our spineless Republicans as well.

  24. Iacobus

    @D_Mac:

In the struggle against evil, a lot of innocent lives might be lost. How many I really don’t know, but I know that good always wins in the end no matter how terrible the cost.

Still, I understand your concern. We must be vigilant and never give up. Giving up (which is what liberals are famous for) is what got so many South Vietnamese dead when we left South Vietnam, for example. We must not let that happen ever again.

We really don’t have to talk about Christian churches/faiths either because this is really an effort for humanity. Israel can certainly be included (she being the only democratic nation surrounded by her enemies that would only love to see her perish), as can the so-called “moderates” in Islam.

(I’m not even sure “moderates” is the right word; more like reformers. Lutherans were able to shun Luther’s nasty anti-Semitic streak; why can’t Muslims do the same with Mohammed’s batshit-crazy doings?)

  25. Iacobus

I was finally able to view the video. My thoughts:

Obviously, Angela Collins was never strong in her faith as a Catholic, or she’d still be a Catholic.

(A rather small confession: I was never full-blown Catholic up until my early adulthood. Still, I didn’t give up on it. It’s actually intensified over the years, so I don’t know if that was my Mom’s influence or what. My Dad? Well, he’s not exactly the spirtual type. (Long story.))

Who knows? Maybe she’ll just throw her arms up in the air and decide to not wear a headscarf anymore. She’s still young.

I wonder if she’s had a run-in with the fringe elements of Islam yet, because I know they wouldn’t dig that headscarf she’s wearing. Nothing but a burka would do for those assholes. Only time will tell.

    Greetings:

    Here is a thought…

I am wondering if what is really behind this radical Muslim crap is male based fear of being dominated by women raised to the level of a religion.

Islam seems to be WAY too concerned about what women are doing and far less concerned about God and man.

Our Western ideas of equality (albeit not complete or successful yet) between the sexes may be having similar effect on Islam as earlier heretical doctrines concerning whether Jesus was the son of God or not had an effect on Christianity.

This may be, if true, the key to combating Radical Islam at a deeper (rip it out by the roots) level as opposed to a shooting gallery where there are unlimited Jihadis running around.

    What sayest you?

    Tim Roesch
    Command Private Major - retired

  27. rumsfeld47

Tim, I sayest that you’re confronting Islam on Western terms. Only a Westerner would say something like “fear of being dominated by women.”

The way the Prophet sees it (peas be on him), women are cattle that should never leave the house. What’s interesting to me is that the Christian west practiced honor killing for a long time, too–perhaps somebody knows more about the history of honor-killing than me, but as late as the Italian Baroque period, if a woman was raped, she was forced to marry her rapist.

One of the biggest issues I see with Islam (which means “submission,”) is that they get their submission all wrong. As a Lutheran, I submit myself to God and His Word, and no one else (if I don’t like the preacher’s sermon, I’ll find a new church). Muslims submit to their husbands, their fathers, their tribal leaders, their Imams, their Ayatollahs, the list goes on. It’s like the Pope times 1,000 (from what I understand, anyway. Feel free to wipe my ass if I’m wrong.)

  28. xyz

tim, i think you’re on to something here.

going to the roots: it’s fear versus FREEDOM.

we are already at a level in history where a military (the US men on the ground, and i say men deliberately in the older more unifying sense of the word: MANKIND) is acting in a altruistic way to help people they’ve “conquered” get their lives back together.

however flawed anyone wants to say it is, America is a place where freedom is a “breakfast food” (e.e. cummings).

we don’t have to be afraid of anything on that diet. we can be optimistic and do the best we can.

if you wander around the internet, you see many more moslem raised women speaking out against islam than men at this point. they get it. they see people eating freedom for breakfast and they want it too.

thank you for your service to our country.

  29. Tim Roesch

    Greetings:

Rumsfeld47 and xyz BOTH have good points.

My fear is that our little war with terrorism (tee hee) is going to go on forever IF we keep on (tee hee) treating it like a kid wacking (whacking?) kudzu with a golf club. Sure, flying foliage and plant juices are fun and all but unless you kill the root, the stuff keeps growing back.

You made my point Rumsfeld47. We HAVE to attack it the Western Way…otherwise, my fear is we’ll turn the world into a version of WarHammer XXXX where the fight goes on forever; just different weaponry.

A Warthog going downtown on a Hamas rally or Puff the Magic Dragon circling overhead the next time Hezbollah gets uppity might be really fun (YEE HAW! Lookit the turbans fly!) but like that kid wacking (I like wacking better) Kudzu, at the end of day we won’t have accomplished a thing except leaving a mess for someone else to clean up.

I believe in bringing a shotgun to a fist fight and an Abrams with Apache flying CAP to a shotgun fight. Freedom through superior firepower and the will to use it, baby. Everything else is just collateral damage and, frankly, a waste of good munitions.

I did more during the LA Riots racking a round into the chamber of my Bennelli than I ever did shooting #4 into the air. (of course I REALLY wanted to shoot a few people…I mean…I REALLY REALLY did…)

I think that reforming Islam will take a lot more time, because it will not happen as long as the violent towel-heads are in control.

Until then, I think we have to confront Islam on either Islamic or human terms. You have to crawl before you can run.

It’s “whacking,” if you’re “whacking off.” Although you do sound rather wacky this morning–have you been mixing chemicals or something?

  31. Rst

    Hi again everyone!

I haven’t watch the video but I am sure it goes along the same lins as the usual propaganda, still I have been thinking about this issues for about some time and here are my thoughts on a few points:

Islam is a house of cards built on mind control. like any idiology being confronted it will eventually collapse just like comunism, nazism and any totalitaria move that exist. People will say it has been going for 1400, still it was a military macine first and later it was kept aline by the ottman empire; nowadays if it wasn’t for oil it woould be on its way to very it belongs History books…
Islam has in my honest opinion less than 100 years to go.

About the video and conversions, for every person who converts to Islam (and we always hear about them) there is another one going the Christian way,and more than a dozen becoming atheist; you’ll ask why we don’t hear about them, well apostassy for one and the lack of support of the usual suspects( I found the leftist and liberals the most dissapointing people, at least conservatives are predictable).

Now about Europe, and remember I am European and have lived in Spain and Switzerland here is what I see:

Birth rates are going up, they’re still low in Spain (but strong in Switzerland)but that is done mostly to the lack of handouts given by the state, in summary, in order to collect any unemployment in Spian you have to work and log time before you can put a claim. Take my case for example, my tax brackets as single man were 22% and now with 2 kids they are only 19%, so again not much help there.
Birth rates of 2nd and 3rd generation msulims are dropping. Reasons? unability to find jobs, leads to unability to move on and get married. Keep in mind europeans are quite racist so very few women will actually go for a muslim (again like I said previously, the proverbial loser might fall for it).
I don’t have probe of thsi facts but I m anxiuosly waiting for data to corroborate thses facts.

Despite of empty churches the Pope’s visit in 2000 manage to gather 2 million people, that is 5% of the total population of spain, last year the Pope manage to get over 1 million of young people in Germany alone.
Christianity is making a come back amongst the middle class.
About being dhimmis, well you guys have to remember one thing is politicians BS the other is people opinions. Migrants in Spain are mostly south americans, morocans are not liken by people and usually have the last pick on jobs if any at all. You guys might never hear of El Ejido, well it is a town in Andalucia, in 2000 a girl was rape and killed by what it was pressumed was a morocan, the town went out in mass and burned down every house owned by morocans, i am not saying it is the right thing to do but it was done; just 6 month ago my cousin was there and told that the morocans cross the street when they see locals coming the other way; and remember this is the Al-andalus Ben laden keeps yaping about; Al-andalus will probably be the last place he could do with, catholicism is well and alive there (hear about the Ester precessions?)and the main exports are Cherry and pork:lol:

In other countries, well PC is the UK is not going that well either despite the eforts of the moronic mayor of London. Last summer during the Soccer European cup, a english friend of mine told he has never seen such a display of Saint George’s crosses (the english flag, and the crusaders as well), You know why? because the PC brigade told them not to since it may offend you know who…
Again, I could go on and on but as I’ll like you guys to see, theopinin on the ground is not as bad as it seems, europe still has a backbone although they might tell you so…

    Again guys, keep it up

    HI GUYS;

Sorry for the spelling mistakes, I meant to say Sherry (sort of sweet wine), not cherry when talking about Andalucia.

    Cheers

Guess again…I have bow chasers!) and that might explain my whcaky nature today.

hi Rst, it’s great to have you posting here from Spain! i would like to ask and discuss something with you that i’ve been thinking about.

what would have happened if hitler went unchecked? if the USA didn’t enter ww2 in Europe? i’m not going for a quick answer here, like all europe would be speaking german.

also, i’ve been thinking along the lines that hitler was in cohoots with the grand mufti/muslim brotherhood. i’m thinking that this iraq war is an extension of ww2 because the moslem anti semitism/infidelism was never checked in north africa and now it’s coming home to roost.

these are probably 2 different lines of thought, but it’s just something i’ve been wondering about and would like any thoughts you have about it from that side of the sea.

  35. Steve in NC

how many lives could have been saved if a military reaction occured after hitler took Czechoslovakia?

how many can be saved if we stop the fanatics now?

  36. xyz

    steve in NC,

the US citizens who answer the call to military duty perform and performed with heroism and valor in ww1, ww2, vietnam, iraq 1, and iraq 2. so while our guys are “over there,” we’ve got, for example, steny hoyer meeting with the muslim brotherhood in egypt. what’s he doing over there?

i guess what i’m saying is that these wars haven’t ended something that’s been going on in the backdrop for the whole time: fanaticism and duplicity, and here’s where we’re gonna also need the genius of freedom loving people to put their minds to this challenge.

    cheers, with a bourbon neat!

    Hi guys!!

    Well XYZ, the US saved Europe from the nazis, there is no questions about that, not only that but the Marshall plan built post-war Europe and made it what it is today;
that is the truth, unfortunatelly I am a minority in Europe where anti-americanism has grown.

Hitler was bound to get in trouble sooner than later, his whole set up was a war machine, his economy could not function without expansion, and war is the only way to do so, so in some ways there is a similarity between Islam and Nazism, they don’t create anything so if there is no conquest they starve to death.

Rather than Hitler cozing up to the muslims, I think it was the other way around, Al-husseini the grand mufti of Jerusalem saw common objective (extermination of Jews) as common cause so he jumped into the bandwagon, it is a shame today that people don’t know about this, if they knew the “poor” palestinians mantra would be gone…
Again here you are preaching to the convert, I agree with you but my opinion is in minority in Spain, although having said that, Spain is full of “closeted” anti-muslims, you wouldn’t belive it, around 95% of spanish people despise them, but PC keeps them from saying it out loud!!!

    Anyway, check the webpage www.tellthechildrenthetruth.con

Rst, thanks so much for your reply and lights on this.
you know, i think it’s so interesting (and i do believe you) that almost all the spanish people feel the way they do. i think it’s that way here too. the only difference is that you have a larger demographic of non-indigenous people living in spain that are against the basis of your society than we have. the PC stuff is interesting too, because in a way, it’s a way some people think of doing unto others the way you want others to do unto you. we want to solve this problem, but we don’t want to sink as low as the other side. yes, no one of us wants our cities to look like baghdad, but when they start to look like a small town in sweden where blonde headed girls are uncovered meat and rape-able, well, what are we gonna do now, folks?

i wasn’t born at the time of hitler and i imagine you weren’t either, but i wonder really what it was like then? what were the attitudes and beliefs of the populations that supported hitler and who were conquered by hitler and how do they relate to today’s attitudes. especially, was there a similar confused complacency?

i really like your idea that
“they don’t create anything so if there is no conquest they starve to death.”
i think this is a key idea for me. it’s why i thought before the war, that we shouldn’t engage with them in a conventional war, but try to starve them out in another way because war might allow them the only kind of conquest they could make. but i really haven’t come up with another way,(well, maybe some things like precise and obeyed immigration policies) and i believe this war has in a positive way revealed some key issues that we here in the usa would have never known about.

this morning i wrote a note to myself that i’d like to share with you:

we’ve got to put our thinking caps on here. beyond the tactics of war, there need to be tactics for what this war is bringing to light.

9/11 and all the attacks preceeding were wounds that healed correctly. no pus, no seepage, no putrefaction. people know that in order to go on with LIFE, you have put the pain of 9/11 aside. when you have a belief that forgiveness (not forgetting, but forgiveness) is laudable, or, in resiliency and self-responsibility, wounds heal better, quicker, cleaner. never mind all the other great beliefs like do unto others, blessed are the meek and the peacemakers, and a most important belief: the ends don’t justify the means. however imperfect following and living these beliefs, they are at least the stated goal, and even trying to follow beliefs such as these, makes life worth living.

but there are wounds that have been seeping and smelling for a long time, and we’ve put a stick in them in iraq. putting a stick in it has given us something to look at. thanks to the internet, we are beginning to see revealed the factors that have kept these wounds unhealed and infective:

a belief in avenging everything of the past (however far that past is), that the ends justify the means and that the end is: everyone has to believe what we believe or else we enslave them or kill them, and we can use any other means such as lying to achieve our ends. and it doesn’t matter if i create hell on earth for myself or my family and friends because the reward isn’t here on earth anyway, but in paradise, especially for the big time hellmakers. any misery and unachievement and delapidation here on earth is irrelevant when seen in view of this paradise and anyway, it’s all the fault of the others because they haven’t complied to our goals.

just the difference in the method of wartime imprisoning of the enemy is instructive:

on the one side, there is at least a general reluctance to go to war because there’s so many great things to do and be, besides warmaking. then, there’s all kinds of questioning to make sure war prisoners are treated humanely because—do unto others—that’s the way we would want to be treated. even the book that contains the ideology of our own destruction is given to the prisoner with all the correct procedures.

on the other side, war is the sublime means. you have understood, unquestioned, and completely sanctioned torture, death, and useful propaganda films of all of this pain, because the goal is everyone must submit or believe as we do and the ends justify any means necessary.

people who believe this way live in our country and some have even sworn and falsely sworn allegiance to our country. what can we do about this?

well, that’s the end of the note to myself. anyway, i am optimistic, rst, because i think the internet has made more people living on our planet aware of this problem than ever before. in the crusades time, for example, some of the men and women went to war, but the people remaining in the countryside in europe on their farms and in their towns had no visual clue as to what was actually going on in real time. i believe knowledge is power. i also believe we really don’t need to “know” all the exact details of what we can do to solve this, we just need to keep believing in the way we want to live on this earth, and do the best we can each day, and all will be revealed. that’s how i’m going about it.

cheers, rst, and thanks for that link, i’ll take a look now…
