Communist Romanticist Oliver Stone Makes Anti-War Commercial For MoveOn.Org
From The Politico Today:
Director Oliver Stone is planning to direct an anti-war television commercial chosen by members of the liberal group MoveOn.org.
The Stone ad campaign will focus on a specific American family affected by the war. Which family and soldier used will be determined by the votes of MoveOn.org members.
An anti-war veterans organization, VoteVets.org — which was responsible for the Super Bowl ad that included an Iraq war vet amputee — is also backing the project.
It was announced as liberal opponents of the Iraq war stepped up attacks on Republican congressional lawmakers who voted against a timeline for redeploying troops with letter-writing campaigns, demonstrations and, this week, the launch of new TV ads.

A broad coalition of war opponents spent the congressional recess rousing the locals in dozens of Republican swing districts in 24 states.
Organized by Americans Against Escalation in Iraq — a coalition comprised of MoveOn.org, the service employees’ union and anti-war veterans’ organizations — the campaign has raised $5.6 million so far.
“A couple of million bucks of George Soros’ money certainly does wear on people,” said Florida Rep. Adam Putnam, the third-ranking Republican in the House.
Starting this week, a related liberal group, Americans United for Change — which was founded to oppose the privatization of Social Security — launched TV ads urging six House Republicans to support a troop withdrawal timeline.
Constituents made more than 100,000 calls over the recess, triggered in part by “robocalls” — automated phone calls that go to specific constituents — that were recorded by an Iraq war veteran who argued that members of Congress were not supporting the troops by voting to keep them in Iraq.
The groups also organized town hall meetings in Pennsylvania, Florida, New York, Colorado, Michigan, Wisconsin, Missouri, Oregon and Minnesota, which generated coverage in local papers.
The campaigns are targeting moderate Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and John Sununu of New Hampshire.
Collins has responded with her own YouTube.com clip — “Truth” — charging that the ads are paid for by out-of-state partisan political interests and misuse footage of her.
On Wednesday, Sununu said he wasn’t budging either. He said he met with several military families last week and told them that he wouldn’t support an explicit timeline because “announcing to enemies when we’re going to withdraw is insane.”
Asked whether pressure from constituents would cause him to reconsider his position, Sununu said his decision was not political.
“These decisions are driven by what I think are the best interests of the nation. I think most people understand holding a national security bill hostage to partisan politics and pork barrel spending,” he said, “is not in the national interest.” Sununu specifically referenced funds in the war spending bill set aside for peanut storage and spinach farm relief as objectionable.
Despite the campaign, the House Minority Whip Roy Blunt of Missouri believes Republicans remain opposed to specific withdrawal language.
But Blunt, the second-ranking Republican in the House, said he remained open to a discussion about benchmarks for the Iraqi government and the American military to meet. He has joined with other GOP leaders to introduce a bill creating benchmarks that are less binding than those being considered in the Senate.
“I really do think our members are trying to figure out what’s the right thing to do as opposed to the popular thing to do,” Blunt said.
The GOP’s previous statements on pork in the war spending bill could put the party in a bind. Republicans circulated a letter last month to Bush from 154 Republicans promising to sustain a veto if that money remains in the bill.
Republican members and aides have privately questioned whether GOP leaders in the House would pressure them to continue to oppose the war-funding bill if Democrats soften the withdrawal language — the real sticking point — but leave in more than $20 billion in nonmilitary spending.
“We are several chapters from the end of that story,” Blunt said earlier this week. “Apparently, we need to have that veto fight out of the way.”
In the meantime, movement against the war continues. Rep. Jim Walsh (R-N.Y.) is one of the targets of the TV ad campaign. “We’re still trying to find out more about the ad buy,” said spokesman Brian Baluta on Monday. “We’re preparing to take calls form constituents to see what they say.”
He said that the last time a liberal group generated calls into his office, they ended up being overwhelmingly positive. “Some of them said, ‘If you’ve managed to draw the ire of MoveOn.org, you must be doing something right,’” Baluta recalled, saying that Walsh is committed to opposing the timeline.
Other House Republicans targeted include Reps. Mary Bono of California, Dean Heller of Nevada, John R. Kuhl of New York, Timothy V. Johnson of Illinois and Heather Wilson of New Mexico.
Johnson and Walsh voted for a resolution opposing the surge but voted against the timeline for withdrawal. That nuanced position leads the liberal coalition to see them as ripe for a switch.
Heller told the Las Vegas Sun recently that he is “constantly reassessing” his position, saying, “I probably spend the majority of my time thinking about Iraq.” A spokesman for Bono said that his boss’ support for President Bush’s Iraq policy “isn’t open-ended.”
Rep. Ric Keller (R-Fla.), who also backed the anti-surge resolution but opposes the withdrawal timeline, said such pressure can backfire and added that the situation on the ground in Iraq will dictate whether members stick with the president.
The ad and robocalling campaign “offends most people, calling at dinner time,” he said. “Most people who call [us] are calling to complain” about the ads or the robocalls. Keller said he gives such callers MoveOn.org’s phone number.
For now, Keller is willing to let Gen. David Patraeus, the newly installed commander in Iraq, continue with the current policy.
“Obviously a lot of members will be looking to see how the surge is working,” he said. “He may tell us six months is too soon to know. I’ll wait and see what he says.”

As he’s gotten older and paunchier, Oliver Stone kinda looks like Sadam Hussein!

April 19th, 2007 at 10:34 amStone and every other commie-leftist hollyweird SOB can shove it. There are good people in the industry though, namely action stars (Norris, Stallone, The Rock, and even Arnold) and R. Lee Ermey, and of course the spearpoint of our outrage against the treacherous left, Mr. Dollard, badass ex-hollywood agent. Not to mention that Sen. ‘dingy Harry’ Reid has finally come forth and admit what we all knew that the far-leftist demoncrats have written off the war as lost. They have no will to see America survive.
April 19th, 2007 at 10:35 amLooks like castro just told oliver to swallow his load that he was holding in his mouth.

These are the clandestine operatives of hating America.
April 19th, 2007 at 10:49 amPat,
What do the Hollywood glitterati think of Oliver Stone? Do they know he lies in his films or do they approve of the lies? Is the view so warped that no light of truth shines in that place?
Also, do his films make money? If not, why is he continually supported? I understand the George Soros money connection and motivation there, but what about people putting up hard money to float his film enterprises?
Is it considered the cost of doing business in Hollyweird?
April 19th, 2007 at 10:58 amTwarrior,
Thanks for the info on Progressive, I will be changing within the week.
Is there a site that features such info?

April 19th, 2007 at 11:54 amThis really pisses me off.
Are there any Pro-troop support org.’s out there. Sorry for my ignorance if there are.
Not supprised Stone is trying to benefit himself by doing these spots himself. No doubt they will be powerful… this is just what he’s been needing to make a sound. Surprised it’s taken this long.
PAT have you ever had the thought in your head to do some spots in support of our troops & finishing the job. I do believe w/ the web it would make a sound… esp. w/ the footage that you have shot.
Let me know if you need any help with any ad creative as I have much experience… would love to help ya if you want to spearhead some kind of counter fire to these lying pricks. Can write some taglines, copy whatever…
Screw those pricks… whatever happened to those historical propaganda pro-american films that used to rally the home of the free?! (I know this is late) But why didn’t Bush & his administration plan fro PR and advertising… to counter the mis-use of media that we all knew would come.
Your series needs to start soon!
April 19th, 2007 at 12:06 pmPat, Oliver Stone needs to be boycotted, if all conservatives quit seeing his movies, he’ll get the message. If the Liberals want to keep spewing the only way to win anything is through diplomacy and economic sanctions, then as the majority of the country we as conservatives need to impose economic sanctions on them!
Also, I just saw on Drudge that Harry Reid is saying the war is lost. Whne the hell are we going to start getting these turncoats charged with aiding and abetting the enemy?
April 19th, 2007 at 12:15 pmhttp://michellemalkin.com/archives/007341.htm
Hell yeah, Jon Voight! I need to find a movie of his and watch it!
April 19th, 2007 at 12:39 pmHoly shit. I didn’t know Voight was so vocal about the war on terror.
(He’s going to be in the forthcoming Transformers movie.)
April 19th, 2007 at 1:02 pmHey Steve, I read about it in Culture Warrior. Between him and Rush they combine for allot of material on these fuckers.
I suppose you could google all of this info, but then your supporting more anti-American leftists and making them richer.
We pretty much have each other (fellow soldiers) to rely on and lean on these days. Leftist indoctrination secular pieces of monkey shit are taking over.
I keep seeing leftists spewing about war profiteering and then turning right around and profiting from the war. Mass fucking hypocrisy and the amount of info that need to spread around about these fascist pricks is becoming inundating. There’s too fucking much to keep track of anymore.
I wonder if this piece of shit George Soros will mention his recent 63 million dollar purchase of Haliburton stocks.
April 19th, 2007 at 1:14 pmHarry’ Reid that asss, so what’s he saying? We gotta pray towards mecca! Hope he’s not out negotiating our surrender on paper.
April 19th, 2007 at 1:36 pmDingy Harry is a defeatist.
April 19th, 2007 at 2:06 pmThe guy is a Socialist.
These people are the Santa Anna’s of our time.
April 19th, 2007 at 2:10 pmI’m shocked at Voight.I bet he’s not getting a fathers day gift from his daughter and her pecker head husband, boyfriend, lover, sex pot,or whatever the hell he is.I can’t stand any of these elitest assholes.I started boycotting them years ago whenever I became politicaly educated.I blew off a Bon Jovi concert last summer because of his warped views.
These are the same snivling little bitches that used to get wedgies and stuffed in the garbage can in high school. Now all of the sudden they are cool and experts on foreign policy…yeh right
Anyone who patronizes these fools are aiding and abbeding the enemy in my eyes.We all can’t fight the war in the Middle East but we can damn fight it in this country. We owe it to our troops and we owe it to our children.Sorry for the rant
April 19th, 2007 at 2:14 pmFor a pro troop website there is moveamericaforward.org
April 19th, 2007 at 2:16 pmBy the way it looks like Olie is trying his own super size me documentery.Someone should tell him it was only for thirty days.
April 19th, 2007 at 2:18 pmJon Voight, all I can say is wow. Just wow. Who would of thought such a high-profile actor in the entertainment climate of today would voice his opinions to such a degree. ? At least we know there is some sanity left in L.A. I commend him for visiting the troops at walter Reed, now if only more hot chicks like Leeann Tweeden (USO mega-babe, who is indeed a great reason to fight for) would follow suit! I think I saw that Jennifer Love Hewitt has visited WR along with Bo Derek as well. Nothing boosts morale like a visit from beautiful women.
April 19th, 2007 at 2:39 pmHarry Reid is the top link on Drudge…

April 19th, 2007 at 4:05 pmAlong with the Dingy One, we have our own version here on the plains, Chuck Hagel R. NE. This guy has totally gone over to the dark side. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for a long time due to his Vietnam service (two purple hearts) and in the beginning, the guy was rock solid. NOW however, most of his conference calls with local media get canceled due to “scheduling conflicts” and today he chastized his potential Republican opponnent in 08 by saying that he (Hagel) was uniquely qualified to offer valid opinions on Iraq because he had served. Hagel also said that things in Iraq were “the worst that he’d seen up to this point.” What is really unsettling is that Bob Kerry is apparently considering running for senate again vs. Hagel. We can only hope that the Rinos will be run over by the bandwagon they are chasing.
April 19th, 2007 at 7:56 pmA VERY CALCULATED “WE’RE LOOSING” SPEECH by Dingy -
I wacthed entire thing on Fox..
Can only conclude his definition of winning is zero violence in war.
Dingy’s rhetoric is more and more far left almost seems like its done for shock value. As I have observed i have concluded that while he seems a renegade dem at times, his actions are in reality very behind-the-scenes orchestrated with the pelosi pussies. My analysis: His purpose is to float shit to see if it sinks or swims.
Dingy Harry is Pelosi’s mouthpiece. The pelosi pussies all take a stance according to reaction from Dingy Harry’s rhetoric.
In other words he speaks their true party line that they all wish to speak, but all pull back or push foward based on reaction.
Once again, its about polling - not about principle.
April 20th, 2007 at 4:10 amWell go figure, Voight and none of us have heard his positions and opinions. What a shocker uhhh.
I’m getting really tired of these pieces of crap that lie to us and then hide behind the phrase ‘Freedom of the Press.’
April 20th, 2007 at 4:30 amFuck stone, soros, the entire anti military crowd and the horses they rode in on.
April 20th, 2007 at 4:48 amre dingy harry he has a very dirty land deal with organized crime that was brushed under the rug,
why the fuck won’t some of the republicans press this?
oh wait, I forgot most of congress is too busy sucking their own cocks to do something that involves leadership
April 20th, 2007 at 4:58 amMike
April 20th, 2007 at 5:41 amThey don’t have horses - thats cruelty to animals. They ride each others dicks though.
What a sell-out. Reid’s comments are borderline treason. How can anyone not see that this emboldens the enemy? I really wish someone would step-up and call the left what it is, anti-american defeatism. But praise to Voight. He’s one of the last of a generation. We need the John Wayne’s and the good ol’ boys back in Hollywood.

April 20th, 2007 at 7:44 am-dos muy macho muchachos-

total, son rojos de mierda!
not only voight, but denzel is a big supporter. i have (had) some shot of him with some troops recovering as well as some other cadid ones. boycott is something this family has practiced for quite a long time. I think the last Penn movie I saw was fast times, U2? won’t buy their albums because the USA is the root of all problems in Africa…the list goes on…don’t buy their rhetoric, agenda, or their merchandise!
April 20th, 2007 at 7:55 amI don’t trust Stone at all; I didn’t even see his “World Trade Center” movie, because of that. Plus, this wacko didn’t even show who did the hijackings, and kamikazes!
April 20th, 2007 at 8:55 amThey are all No-Go’s at this station for being HOMOS!

I don’t trust Stone at all; I didn’t even see his “World Trade Center” movie, because of that. Plus, this wacko didn’t even show who did the hijackings, and kamikazes!
That’s because he buys into the conspiracy that Bush did it.Stone is a real conspiracy nut.
April 20th, 2007 at 5:11 pmHey, here’s one of Ollie Stone’s notable contributions to american society:
“If anybody cares about the victims in Blacksburg and if anybody cares about their children, stop showing this video now. Take it off the Internet. Let it be relegated to YouTube. Showing the video is a social catastrophe… I promise you the disaffected will watch him the way they watched ‘Natural Born Killers.’ I know. I examine these people. I’ve examined mass shooters who have told me they’ve watched it 20 times. You cannot saturate the American public with this kind of message” — forensic psychiatrist and ABC News consultant Michael Welner, discussing the consequences of the media airing the Seung-hui Cho video.
April 22nd, 2007 at 10:19 amI swear! When I first saw that picture I thought it was Sadam Hussain with Fidel in an old photo.
April 23rd, 2007 at 4:07 pmTo FrozenTex try watching midnight cowboy that John V. was in. Nice to know that not all the Hollywood peeps are morons!
April 24th, 2007 at 7:42 amI can see Harry Reid now (and I wrote him and said this same thing). There we are signing the armistace treaty for Iraq (you know, like WWII, on the Missouri), and there is Harry Reid….on the wrong side of the table….different side from our President and the troops. You know, I didn’t fight in Vietnam (I’m ashamed, but it is true I was one of those chicken SHXX communist pinkos). I’d like this war at home to be mine, but I don’t know where to start except e-mails. I’d really like to do something responsable enough to be worthy of supporting these troops, but I don’t want to be the only one in jail for it. Something like starting a billion man armed march from where ever you are to Washington. I see no justification for not fulfilling our Original Declaration of Indepenence requirements of Requiring by any means that these lilly livered low life so called representatives of our Nation, either represent us, or be taken out of their offices and punished for aiding and abetting the enemy.
Those of you brave enough and patriotic enough to be fighting for our country….stand tall, we (the only ones who matter over here)will fight the war thats necesary in Washington. IF we don’t win, the next Democratic president will play hell trying to get anyone to defend him. I’ve come to the conclusion that there was a wise reason why our founders had state militias rather than national armies. Let the liberal bastaXXs stay at home and let those states who WANT to defend this country do the work. Hell, my state could just place a $25/gallon gas tax on states who do not support the war (and want our gas). Hey, we would clean up their air at the same time! They wouldn’t have time to complain because they would be rubbing sticks together to keep warm.
