Heart of Darkness… Who knows what Conrad would have said if he were around today?

“Every minute I sit here, Charlie get’s stronger…” Just like the Iraq War, you shit head!

Sometimes I’d be walking and walking and my feet are killing me and I’d say to myself, ‘wish someone would shoot at me so I could sit down and watch the air show’. It’s the small things, you know. Gee, I wonder if they’ll ever re-release that for the IMAX theatres?

Apocalypse fucking Now! Literally the best film ever made, in my view. They don’t make movies like that anymore, and they never will again. Many different interpretations to this movie; but mine is that Kurtz never went insane at all, that he’s just a pure warrior who discovered, and embraced, what it takes to win. The torment he experiences is because he could never reconcile “the horror”, i.e. what it takes to win, with the values he was brought up to espouse. Look forward to reading other people’s takes on this Excellent…Fuckin…Movie!!

All the death, distruction, life changing encounters and events. All the scars both mental and physical. For what? Just to satisfy the the appitite of power and hate. deja vu. deja fucking vu.

I remember coming home to my ex-wife basic back in Dec.86 from Ft. Bliss TX.
I remember seeing a beautiful woman and thought what a lucky man i was,but i had changed and i don’t think she knew who i was,i had changed.
I left as a ,(wog)worldy oriented gentlemen and came back as an American soldier.
A different view of the world,a changed man with the blinders off now.
It was a shock to her, because she had no idea the things i saw,the things i did,the things to come, she was afarid she had lost the one she knew.
But over time, being around other soldiers families as i served at Ft. Lewis Wa. she learned of a new breed of
    AMERICANS.
Americans who sacrifice almost everything, and some who sacrifice it all for this great country of ours.
Time is the great healer,I pray for those who need comfort and support when they too come home and have to re-adjust to the WOG WORLD.
I’m thankful for this and many other websites that our Patriots can come to for comfort and knowledge that many
millions of us care deeply for our American Soldiers in harms way.

There is alot we can do for them.
I hope my thoughts will give hope and strength to those who need it. You Are Not Alone!
    We Are With You!

Keep you head down, stick with your ranger buddy,
    We are PROUD of YOU!!!
You are making a difference in the world, and I pray God will be with you and your families when you need it the most.

    Folks,

While I know the “White Feather” protest idea to Congress (and Senate) for their surrender bill vote is in question because of hero legendary Marine Corps sniper Carlos Hathcock use of said feather, researching I found on references to the general meaning of white feathers to be a sign of cowardice.

Anyhow, the idea is still being offered in a new form:

gatewaypundit also has links to which House and Senate members voted for or against the surrender bill.

Sometimes i feel the pain will blow my mind,(king’s X).
That’s the way i feel sometimes as i watch the way our troops are treated by the “WOG’S” ,or lack of being respected for what they do for us amd mankind.
I put a simple monatge of photos together one dis-heartning day to let the Troops know we feel thier pain.

I hope it can be posted for what’s it’s worth.

I sleep better at night knowing there are rough men and women who stand ready in the night to deliver violence to those who do us and others harm.

God Bless, keep it together and we will be here for you when you need it the most.

    You are never alone!

    Jc Pdx out.

  11. I Know Where You Live

    Anybody can understand this movie.

But only a few of us know it’s true.

    1. Never losing faith that he would beat them in the end.

    2. Simultaneously dealing with the brutal facts of the moment.

There’s a lot of bullshit posts here. Tough guys– “I was there. I’ve seen the shit, man. Been in it…” People that were there never boast about it because they know themselves and don’t need the acknowledgement.

True? What is truth? Truth is I’m sitting in an office with no bombs going off or snipers shooting at me.

  13. I Know Where You Live

Sounds like some people feel uncomfortable around people who have served. I wonder why?

Sounds like, as usual, it’s best for people to simply speak for themselves.

“Drop the Bomb, Destroy them all”

    The simple solution.

  15. pigpaws

…”People that were there never boast about it because they know themselves and don’t need the acknowledgement.”…

    Where are the boasts?
Perhaps they should talk about it, not for the acknowledgement, but to release past demons and to give us a glimpse of what truth is from the front lines….not the garbage fed to us by the likes of Kerry or Murtha.

The man needs to get back in uniform; his identify corresponds with what he can do best. Soldiering. Painful to watch a brave man lose it.
