Thank God. Now, I hope the President takes on the quislings in Congress, and exposes them for who they are.
May 1st, 2007 at 2:17 pmAmen to that A.S. Wise, I’d like to see some prosecuted for treason. That is not an extreme position on the matter given what those idiots are trying to do.
May 1st, 2007 at 2:31 pmWhile I agree with everything the President said, I’m still disappointed. He showed no anger, no fire, like he did after 9/11 I wanted to hear some yelling and to show some emotion.
May 1st, 2007 at 2:33 pmHell Yeah! Now THIS is the man I voted for back in 04!
Give ‘em hell, W!
May 1st, 2007 at 2:38 pmGramps…looked like he was beginning to boil….just hasn’t boiled over enough as yet. I’m still praying he will.
May 1st, 2007 at 2:41 pmOHH! HE IS PISSED! Sorry Gramps, I see lots of anger–looked like he was trying to restrain it.
Pelosi is a DISGRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She makes me so ashamed….. botoxed to paralysis face, psycho eyes, and bobbed nose. Whata goddamed joke. Feigning solomnenity at that ceromony-side show. UUUUUUGGGGGHHH!
Is it possible to have a massive RECALL of the Nov. election? They should all be hauled out.
May 1st, 2007 at 2:54 pm“OHH! HE IS PISSED! Sorry Gramps, I see lots of anger–looked like he was trying to restrain it.”
I don’t know. He sounded to me like he was just having a conversation. If he was tight jawed, I sure wish he would have shown it more. A little anger, fire and passion never hurt anyone.
May 1st, 2007 at 3:02 pmRoll their asses OUT of the Capitol Building and tell them, “GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE AND DON’T COME BACK!!!”
May 1st, 2007 at 3:03 pmThe Dems and some douche-like Republicans are giving fellatio to our enemies. They are telling them to please, please, kill more of our soldiers and if you do, Bryan Williams will cream in his pants and call Wolf Blitzer up and after giving each other’s ego’s a stroke, they’ll put the latest “news” from Iraq. I sometimes imagine the media as standing and pouring gasoline on a fire with one hand while yelling into a microphone with the other. “Why can’t you put out this fire, Bush?!”
Those who prefer us to lose to Al Queda in Iraq are beyond words and beneath contempt. They defy both patriotism and common sense. Not only do they piss on the dead but when a “victorious” Al Queda is handed victory from the jaws of defeat, they are not going to go off and take a vacation on a golf course.
They’ll be coming back to up the ante from 9/11.
They’ve told us that. They aren’t shy about it. They are not going to be satisfied when we “lose” in Iraq. Nor when we throw Israel to the rats teeming around them. They won’t stop when they demand political autonomy in Malvo Sweden and impose sharia in the banlieus of Paris.
It doesn’t stop for these pigs until we are prostrate on the five times a day trying to figure out what way Mecca is when you’re in Jersey or Fairbank Alaska.
I fear, truly fear that it will take another massive attack on our soil, while in the midst of impeachment procedings vs. Bush for the country to wake up again.
Sickening spectacle, all in all.
May 1st, 2007 at 3:13 pmI would love to see W go to the halls of congress grab a dem by the neck, then back slap em hard enough to make their teeth loose.
May 1st, 2007 at 3:20 pmSenator Jim Webb, who was elected over the word “macaca” (whatever the hell that means) hasn’t answered my email sent last week (macaca to me). But he voted to macaca the Iraqi’s, and says some bs on his “congression page” (so to speak, it wouldn’t be surprising either if it was literal)about needing more diplomatic macaca.
He must be too busy writing more porno-novels to bother with macacas like us.
May 1st, 2007 at 5:03 pmI think he showed a fair amount of restraint, but I could detect some tightness there. Since there was something else going on there, I’m sure he kept himself in check.
Well said all the same. But, did he mean May 15th instead of April 15th or did I miss something?
May 1st, 2007 at 5:12 pmGW vs. Harry Reid in the octagon!!!
-Tom-
I don’t think another attack will wake up America. If 9/11 didn’t, nothing short of a nuke will.
Leftists need to be soundly defeated in ‘08, period. I truly fear for the existence of our nation if a Dem is elected prez.
May 1st, 2007 at 6:06 pmI sent her a message at the Speaker of the House site, and left her my thoughts, in two languages. It’ll sting more once she has it translated.
May 1st, 2007 at 7:17 pmWhat I find very amusing is how upset you are all about this. And there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it. Seethe away.
I hear that Sen. Santorum is going to introducing a bill to completely ban handgun and assault rifle sales and ownership in the US due to the two recent mass murders. Not expected to pass, but should be amusing.
May 1st, 2007 at 7:53 pmBotulism - “What I find very amusing is how upset you are all about this. And there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it. Seethe away.”
Go ahead and waste your vote on the next election then. Our soldiers in the past died, and the ones fighting now, fought for your right to do so.
“I hear that Sen. Santorum is going to introducing a bill to completely ban handgun and assault rifle sales and ownership in the US due to the two recent mass murders. Not expected to pass, but should be amusing.”
I fully expect them to try. The only thing bills like this do is keep guns out of the hands of honest people. The answer to this: buy now while you can.
May 1st, 2007 at 8:41 pmMatt,
You know, you’re right. If people can view a “defeat” in Iraq to Al Queda as a positive outcome just half a decade after the towers fell, then maybe our national trance is beyond waking up. The Dems are actually running on defeat and it is selling. Bleach.
May 1st, 2007 at 9:46 pmBotulism, how can Senator Santorum introduce legislation? He didn’t win re-election (dam) he’s not our Senator here in Pennsylvania. He’s working in a Washington thinking tank, wondering what to do about you. Wherever you are on the planet, I guess you ‘heard’ wrong.
May 1st, 2007 at 10:35 pmBush signed the veto with a pen given to him by Robert Derga, the father of Marine Corps Reserve Cpl. Dustin Derga, who was killed in Iraq on May 8, 2005. The elder Derga spoke with Bush two weeks ago at a meeting the president had with military families at the White House.
Derga asked Bush to promise to use the pen in his veto. The 24-year-old Dustin Derga served with Lima Company, 3rd Battalion 25th Marines from Columbus, Ohio. The five-year Marine reservist and fire team leader was killed by an armor-piercing round in Anbar Province.

May 2nd, 2007 at 4:34 amYour an idiot!
If we can get the military to get as pissed off as Tyler Rock and write articles in the media the american douche bag libs will have no where to run.
Keep up the pressure on the treasonist bast–ds in DC!!
Benedict Arnold was an American war hero until he turned into a traitor, just like the dems in Congress!
We spent six years in Japan and Germany after WWII. We’re still in S.Korea. How is it the traitors think we should leave the War on Terrorism and put our heads in the sand back here USA?
May 2nd, 2007 at 4:34 amThe leftists are in a pickle now, and they are going to have to pony up some bucks. That goes against their defeatist agenda.
This Congress will go down as one of the worst in history, and it shows. They can’t get votes and they are miffed.
What a waste of our time these shitbags are!!
Thanks President Bush for sticking to your guns, this American appreciates you for doing so.
May 2nd, 2007 at 4:40 amReacll election?
Oh no not the 06 for Confress!!!
We s/recall Bush.
Remember how he got in….thousands of black voters were disenfrachised…dropped from the voter registration rolls by Governor Bush.
In the end the Supreme Court stole the election for Bush.
Hope all those Green Party/Socialist Worker Party voters see how horrible these last 6 years are and VOTE DEMOCRAT in 2008!!!
$500 Billion for Iraq War so far…could have been spent on health care, Soc Sec, welfare, aide for poor to pay oil bill, education…etc
The future of America’s children have been mortaged for just the Iraq War.
May 2nd, 2007 at 5:08 amIf Republicans win in 08 there will be more wars….Iran, Syria, N Korea, Arabia, Venezuela, Cuba……(Who is the aggressor?)
Hey denis wasnt it the florida supreme court of 6 dems and one independent that voted overwhelmingly to ignore the florida constitution and follow a texas constitutional exception in order to grant the state of florida to authorize a recount. The US supreme court only pointed this out to the florida court in making its decision: dont ignore the constitution in favor of politics.
The blacks were disinfranchised because they couldnt read a ballot correctly( a ballot whose design was approved by the democrats themselves). and incidentally florida was won by republicans because of the hispanic vote(notably cubans)Bush speaks spanish, and lefty’s are decidedly pro-cuba.
liberals still whinning about losing elections. You are indeed visionaries!
May 2nd, 2007 at 5:49 amsince democrats always say that the republicans represent the wealthy, and since the wealthy pay the majority of the taxes, then i suggest whatever money we spend on the military is our business since it is our money that we are spending.
the poor dont need handouts, they need a handup that tells them to look to the future rather than the past. To see what they can do to help their country as well as themselves, to become innovators rather than dependants as the democrat plan relegates them to.
You want good health care, here’s a tip: live healthy. come down with a terrible disease: go to the church for help or numerous other charities, appeal to the media for help. people usually help those who take initiative to help themselves rather than whine to the government as a cure all. Canadian health care is so great that the wealthy, including the politicians come to the US for theirs.
Where did castro go to get his health care, the great cuban health care system we allways here about from the likes of you? No, he went to spain! The spanish doctor was probably trained in the US, but I digress!
typical liberals, through money on the problems, increase dependency. welfare states always fail miserably because the people lose their moral sense of direction and drive.
Quit whining and do something for the world!

The Iraq war is a drop in the bucket. If America wanted any of the “perks” you described in your above rant, we’d jack up taxes. But America wants fancy houses, big cars, computers, and the spoils of being the number one country in the world. $500 billion is a small price to pay so that I can go to work and not have to worry about some jerk-off blowing up the gas station while I’m at the pump. It’s people like you who are satisfied with pointing the finger at the problems of the world while they fill their shopping carts with all the luxury items of the free world.
I plan on ensuring that the “mortgage” on my children’s future will pay off dividends in the “house” that the mortgage provided. I’m all about getting a nice return on my investment, thanks for pointing out that analogy!
Oh and by the way, I’m pretty sure Canada and France are accepting Visa applications for the politically repressed, I suggest you check it out, since living in America is so intolerable. Alec Baldwin is still waiting for his to clear, give him a call I’m sure you guys can have a nice chat in his mansion.
Here’s a little quote for you and your buddies:
May 2nd, 2007 at 7:42 am“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.”
-John Stuart Mill
“It’s people like you who are satisfied with pointing the finger at the problems of the world while they fill their shopping carts with all the luxury items of the free world.”
I got a little angry and started writing incomplete sentences… Sorry for letting my emotions ruin my grammar! Here’s the rest of the sentence:
free world… that leads me to doubt, albeit briefly, the benefits of universal suffrage.
And Denis I have a question, do you pay taxes?
May 2nd, 2007 at 7:47 amDenis - “Remember how he got in….thousands of black voters were disenfrachised…dropped from the voter registration rolls by Governor Bush.
In the end the Supreme Court stole the election for Bush.”
Can any of you liberals ever mentioning anything beyond repetitive talking points? Can you ever create an original thought without quoting leftist media? Bush stole the election! Well answer this Denis if you can; after the elections that put Democrats in power recently, why were there no calls for voter fraud? Why didn’t anyone ask for a recount or scream elections were fixed or stolen? The left started screaming about all of this as the elections were beginning, and all the way through until the end when they won and………………..silence. Why is that?
“Hope all those Green Party/Socialist Worker Party voters see how horrible these last 6 years are and VOTE DEMOCRAT in 2008!!!”
Yea, it has been truly horrible. Taxes have been cut causing a surplus in money to the government. The Dow broke a record what, six time now? The Dow broke a record one time as Clinton was on the way OUT. All of this happening while we still dealt with the attack of September 11, 2001.
“$500 Billion for Iraq War so far…could have been spent on health care, Soc Sec, welfare, aide for poor to pay oil bill, education…etc”
Well you said it right there, “welfare”. All of these are hand outs to many people who won’t, but could, get off their ass to work for it. Why do you people want the government to pay for everything? Who do you think is REALLY paying for it? You, if you pay taxes, and I are paying for it. It pisses me off that some of my tax money is going toward some deadbeat sitting on their couch watching Jerry Springer and bitching about how awful the US is. Fuck ‘em. Make them fend for themselves like the rest of us. Ever heard of “teaching a man to fish”?
Here are some rough numbers for you. You quote $500B spent. USA Today reported on 10/17/2006 we just passed the 300M mark in the US population. That works out to $1,666.67 per person over four years, or $416.67 per person, per year or $34.72 per month if I did my math correctly. I pay more than that for cable, and a lot more than that for beer and phone sex.
“If Republicans win in 08 there will be more wars….Iran, Syria, N Korea, Arabia, Venezuela, Cuba……(Who is the aggressor?)”
They, the countries you mention, are the aggressors. What prevents you from seeing that other than your hatred for America? You better hope a Republican is in the White House if anything happens with these countries. A Defeat-o-crats will just have tea parties, wear burkhas and try to hug everyone and apologize for America being so great.
May 2nd, 2007 at 9:24 amDenis,
How stupid can you get?!?!? The liberals have spent TRILLIONS on their pet social programs for over 40 years, and NONE of them have worked! The only thing they have accomplished is to drive the poor into being even more dependent upon the dems and the government, they have gotten no where in regards to improving themselves. The Number of unwed mothers is staggering, thanks to liberals and their precious social programs. You liberal facists want to talk history, then look at real facts in real life. NOT ONE SINGLE DEMOCRATIC SOCIAL PROGRAM HAS EVER BEEN PROVEN TO IMPROVE ANYONE’S LIFE, NO MATTER HOW MANY TRILLIONS OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS HAVE BEEN WASTED ON THEM. The youth of today are growing up unafraid to commit crime, because some liberal lawyer or advocacy group will have him back on the street with no penance. Then because the crime levels keep increasing, you libs shits cry for more money. The only way to teach someone to become a productive member of society and to abide the laws, you must let them know that if they commit a crime, they will be punished.
You think the war is lost?, well then let’s stop all funding for all of the failed social(ist) programs that you and the rest of your ilk have as part of your religion first. Once we have done that, and then start treating the thug criminals like the animals they are, and crime starts falling, then we can start focusing on Education, and after we fire all the worthless tenured public teachers and non productive TEA union leaders, and provide incentive pay to the productive teachers, then we can start focusing on the next problem. Teaching illiterate shits like you how to tell fact from fairy tale fiction.
May 2nd, 2007 at 11:59 am“I hear that Sen. Santorum is going to introducing a bill to completely ban handgun and assault rifle sales and ownership in the US due to the two recent mass murders. Not expected to pass, but should be amusing.”
botulism -
Rick Santorum IS NO LONGER IN THE SENATE. So him introducing his dog to the Senate is highly unlikely, let alone a “bill” on anything.
BTW, Santorum, who had been in the Senate, was a guns rights supporter of the citizens of this country.
May 2nd, 2007 at 12:09 pmThe weather here in NE Ohio has finally decided to get warm, so I was outside doing things with my landscaping I couldn’t do in the fall because of all the rain and cold that came in then. Anyhow,
Gramps,
I too wished Pres. Bush had been more publically cross with the Congress in talking about the vto. If what Steve in NC says is accurate, then he should have even waved around the pen he used to veto the bill and explained the history behind the pen.
I did, however, see the look in his eyes when he ended his speech with “And G-d Bless our troops!”
There was a sternness of solid support in his eyes and voice. He was speaking directly to the troops.
May 2nd, 2007 at 12:19 pmDenis, honey it’s time to take your anti-psychotics looks like you forgot again….
May 2nd, 2007 at 1:24 pmdrillanwr speaks: I did, however, see the look in his eyes when he ended his speech with “And G-d Bless our troops!”

I think the troops know that he is behind them 110%, so he doesn’t need to talk to them. What he needs to do is talk, with some passion, to the American people.
May 2nd, 2007 at 2:15 pmDENIS -
May 2nd, 2007 at 6:29 pmtruthful now, where do you live? I suspect you do not live in the United States of America.
Apologies for the double post
Brad W - I’ll give credit where it’s due. The teacher comments are right on. If we focus on primary/secondary education, part of the funding should go towards efforts to eliminate tenure and reward productivity. Money should NOT go towards salaries IMO, since I view the pay quite reasonable considering it’s only about 60-75% of a normal job. It’s their own fault if they don’t use the extra vacations to get another job to supplement their pay.
I also agree that the unions have become a giant albatross on society. We’ve largely solved the major safety issues in the workplace, now unions are points of resistance at times to safety programs. In any event, unions make it VERY difficult to reward highly productive and team-oriented union members, since it’s all seniority based. Therefore, no one gives more than the bare minimum unless they care about what they do (not rare, but not common enough either).
I’ll offer a controversial thought: What if the President (doesn’t matter what one) proposed eliminating labor unions to benefit the economy, but that in order to do this, front-line staff were able to vote on whether their boss kept a job or not (with new managers getting perhaps 18-24 months grace period).
I think that would give enough protections to workers, would force managers to put time into developing and working with their staff (does NOT mean they need to become best friends), and would not really hamper a company at all…because think about it, if one of your managers was running a department so poorly that the staff all voted to organize, you would fire that chump so quickly…
May 2nd, 2007 at 6:48 pmBotulism,
Thanks for the credit, but I think the credit goes to everyone who feels that way. You have a good spin on th eunion possibility. That requires a lot of consideration, and if I ever get in another MBA program, that would make a great thesis idea.
Back to the teacher salary. There was an article several months ago in the Cleveland Plain Dealer. They shot the complaint of teachers being underpaid all to hell. Ohio’s teachers ar some of the highest paid in the country, and they gave the statistics comparing teachers to other professionals per average hours worked. As a whole, they are among the highest 20 - 30% of salaried employees, being paid higher than most bankers, medical professionals, and other white collar workers. They are also some of the worst performers, in regards to the finsihed product they produce, our youth and their level of education… This took into account the summer breaks, vacation, and all other time off. When the teachers union said the comp was not fair because the teacher s put in a lot of hours out of the classroom, the reply was so do the other professionals, and are not compensated either…
has anyone noted that the loudest and most vocal group of people AGAINST school vouchers and other like programs are teachers, teacher’s unions, and liberals in the areas that have the worst public schools, the lowest gradutaion and test rates? go figure, but then according to dems, all we need to do is throw more money at it…
May 3rd, 2007 at 5:23 amUnions are understandable and at times necessary, what I dont like about them is that A person has to join them in order to have that particular job. Forced unionism is communist and must be stopped, particularly unions are giving dues to political causes.
