On the one hand it sucks that he isn’t going to be allowed the chance to serve his country. I mean if he wants to serve, let him serve, but on the other, having him there could put his men at an even greater risk because they will be a much bigger target

May 17th, 2007 at 5:11 amHe has trained alongside his men. He’s willing to go. He wants to go. He’s a soldier. Just like numerous kings and princes of Britain have fought and died in wars over hundreds of years, he should be allowed to go to war and either die or come back victorious.
He may be useful as a shooting duck in outing the bad guys for the good guys to kill.
Who is Britain really trying to save? Prince Harry or members of the liberal media that will be following him.

General Dannart was happy for him to go when he was facing the same level of risk as any other British soldier in Iraq but the change has come about due to the medias irresponsible reporting.
Over the past few weeks the British media have leaked; his unit, his deployment date, his job and role, where he would be based, where he would be patrolling, how many men there are in his sub unit, what type of vehicle he will be in and the fact that he would have no additional protection.
I sincerely hope that they did this without thinking about the consequences but there is a part of me that wonders if they did it knowing that his murder, or worse kidnap, would make the biggest story of the year and make them more money.

Whats wrong with doing it again. I am sure that if the BBC had a print of every location of the Brit forces in Iraq or Afganistan and the people involved they would put it on the TV and the Internet so that the enemies of the west could derive much pleasure in ambushing the troops.

And for the record, I have never been a Royal-hater. I think Elizabeth as tons of genuine class, and I have no beef with numerous other royals, but neither of the offspring of Charlie-the-Secret-Muslim have NEVER impressed me as being anything other than spoiled little waifs. Sorry if that doesn’t float your boat, but I have come to wonder just what possible good can come of the Brit royal “line” after Liz. She is in a class by herself and what follows looks rather like bilge to me (if I may borrow one of Bertie Wooster’s lines).
