“While a timetable to withdraw troops is out of the bill, a senior House Democratic leadership aide told FOX News that the other issue being worked out is what to do about domestic spending included in the legislation.

Congressional leaders said Monday that the legislation would include the first federal minimum wage increase in more than a decade, a top priority for the Democrats who took control of Congress in January.”

More political capital — “We couldn’t give you your wage increase because Bush will not withdraw US troops from Iraq.” I can see this being said just in time for the ‘08 elections.

This just a ploy and a political repositioning tactic.

Actions always speak louder than words and the fact that they put a surrender date up for vote means everything. There is to be no forgiving or acceptance of those that have made their choice loud and clear. All that voted in favor of a certain defeat need to be disposed of in the next election. Regardless of party affiliation or any false mea culpas uttered they will never be forgiven.

A battle may have been won, but the war goes on, and it is yet to be decided.

“Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid refused to call the compromise a defeat.”

Oh, the hypocrisy!  Douche bag had no problem declaring the war is lost though! These people have not only lost their minds, but their souls! The damage has already been done and blood is on their hands! Traitors they are! Busy playing politics for personal gain while we are at war! Can’t wait for their dogma to be eaten by their own karma!

maybe a little off topic, but regarding the d’rats, the Bush administration is declassifying intel re AQ using Iraq as a staging ground from 2005. The d’rat leadership also sees this intel and still goes out saying that there is no AQ in Iraq, that Iraq has nothing to do with the war on terror.

Knowing this information and to still go forward with the political moves to surrender to al qaida shows how depraved and treasonous the d’rats are.

    ……

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

    Kathy,

You are correct. This is just about the speed of the Demoncraps. Let’s remember an important point when and if this lame argument comes to life:

The government does not provide the money for a minimum wage increase. The small business owners do. Not even a Demoncrap can argue that point.

I believe that more than 50% of the voters want to win the war and protect our borders, etc., so why do the dems take congress? why do we seem to be sitting this out a little more then these people that want give our country away? any ideas why, and how to get all to vote, especially in 08?

Democracy at work. Nobody said it was going to be pretty.

    Amen, all.

Re: “Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid refused to call the compromise a defeat.”

No wonder they keep saying the war is lost - they can’t tell the difference between victory and defeat!

    bd,

“any ideas why, and how to get all to vote, especially in 08?”

Ideas? maybe by voting loop hole flim flams like they did here in MT last local elections for Senators etc. I don’t know the details but it had something to do eith absentee ballots. Anyhow, the organizers rolled out all the larger city voters, even tho they weren’t registerd yet. Mainly, a large show up of college students that were sober enough to flip a voting machine lever. They voted then the regestrauers had to match up their-on-the spot registrations after the polls closed. Slick move and it cost us our Republican Senator Burns.

Another idea was some time back, someone likened the demographic map of our red and blue ( rural vs. cities) states to the same situation in Cambodia in the ’70s. Pol Pot’s solution was to empty out Phenom Penn, and kill them all. Enthusiastic as you guys might like that idea, economically it was dumb. Kill the buyers of the rural agricultural products…not good capitalism.

The dems will never admit when they have fucked up, and believe me they have fucked this up to the benefit of the GOP. They know they have, and the ultra left is not going to let them forget it. The show is just beginning.
The right needs to pound home this liberal capitulation to point of no end. The left has no spine and this will be just the first of so many defeats to come their way.
