All Roads Of Incompetence Lead To Hillary
Bleak Mood Drags Down
Support for Bush, Congress

An increasingly gloomy political environment has soured Americans on
President Bush and Congress, scrambled the Republicans’ 2008 field,
and strengthened Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton’s
lead, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.
As the Iraq war drags on and Washington is embroiled in inconclusive
policy debates, just 19% of Americans now say the nation is headed in
the right direction. More than three times that proportion, 68%, say
things in the U.S. are “off on the wrong track.” That’s approaching
the most pessimistic mood in the history of the WSJ/NBC poll.
At the same time, Mr. Bush’s job approval rating has fallen to his
lowest-ever level of 29%, while 66% disapprove his handling of the
presidency. The telephone survey of 1,008 adults, conducted June 8 to
11 by Republican pollster Neil Newhouse and his Democratic counterpart
Peter Hart, carries a margin for error of 3.1 percentage points.
The fallout from that bleak mood affects the Democratic-controlled
Congress as well as the Republican president. Just 23% of Americans
approve the performance of Congress, matching the finding of the
Journal/NBC poll from one year ago as the Republicans then holding
House and Senate majorities headed toward defeat in November mid-term
elections.
But the overall climate has had different effects on the two parties’
contests for their 2008 presidential nominations. Among Republicans,
front-runner Rudy Giuliani has lost ground, dropping to 29% support
among rank-and-file Republicans from 33% in April. Trailing the former
New York City mayor with 20% is former Sen. Fred Thompson of
Tennessee, who hasn’t even formally entered the race yet.
Former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts has moved to 14%, from 12% in
April, while Sen. John McCain of Arizona has dropped to 14% from 22%
in April. Former Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas draws 3%.
As the Republican presidential field has grown more unsettled, the
Democratic front-runner has moved into stronger position. Sen. Clinton
of New York now draws 39% of the vote, up from 36% in April, while
Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois has dropped to 25% from 31%. Former Sen.
John Edwards of North Carolina has also fallen to 15% from 20%. Gov.
Bill Richardson of New Mexico and Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware lag
behind with 4% apiece.
How’s this sound. All of the candidates are focusing on what they perceive to be wrong with the country. This reminds us of what needs to be done. Nothing seems to be getting done. So, we’re all pissed at all of it. Now, any right minded person knows it’s the left side’s fault. Who knows or cares what the left side thinks. Where am I going with this. I’m going to the polls as soon as they open. You mean it’s a year and a half ’til then. Boy, am I pissed.
June 13th, 2007 at 5:36 pmAs soon as the polls open im going to get a stiff drink because whoever wins i think we are in for some shit.
June 13th, 2007 at 6:18 pmI think this is a prelude to the doers in society becoming so outnumbered by the people that sit on the sidelines bitching that nothing gets done. sucks i have to be a doer until 2010.
June 13th, 2007 at 6:26 pmI firmly belive what Dennis Miller said the other night
June 13th, 2007 at 8:28 pmthat America has become a nation of whiners and
complainers and don’t know how good they really have it..
How about most people are already so bored with the early campaigns, they are sitting it out until they have to do something, like vote. Note how the press continually attack Romney because they are threatened by him–he looks/sounds good on TV and is relatively young compared to the other GOP candidates. Note they NEVER ask “can a black man be president?” and “would you accept a black man as President” like they continually ask “would you accept a Mormon as President”, and “can a Mormon be President.” Note to all Thompson fans: he looks/acts tired, and Americans don’t elect tired acting people. In fact, the average age of US presidents has been around 55, and the most US presidents were age 51 when elected.
June 13th, 2007 at 9:49 pmHow can a nation of people ever trust the integrity of a women who has no self esteem to be able to kick a habitual cheating husband to the curb. She would at least have my attention if she trashed or distanced herself from Bill as a free women. What a load of shit she is.
June 14th, 2007 at 5:04 amSo, if Hillary is at 39% doesn’t that mean that 61% of Dems don’t like her? I hear she’s doing good with 50% of the women, but doing really lousy amoung men.
I think the poll numbers for her are good news. She sucks and EVEN her own party has figured that out.
And Fred T hasn’t even announced yet. Notwithstanding that, he still is polling statistically even with Rudi.
In addition to which, if Hillary were running against Guliani, she’d loose by 10 percentage points. And she’d lose to both McCain, and Romney…if you believe the polls.
This is good news. And with Congress’s numbers continuing to drop like a rock, this all could spell doom and gloom for the Dhimocats in 2008.
Let not your hearts be troubled. We’re taking the hill.
One step at a time.
Or better still, just keep letting the bitch and her bootlicker keep running their mouths…Pelosi and Reid will be the best recruiters the Republicans ever had….in 2008.
June 14th, 2007 at 5:08 amRomney is a used car saleman…He’s from the governor from Mass. where he governed like a liberal. Don’t trust him. Duncan Hunter is the best candidate.
June 14th, 2007 at 5:20 amAny woman that would vote for Hillary based solely on her gender is just another victim of feminist group narcissism.
How can anyone look at that yelping she-beast and see brightness on the horizon? All I see is a socialistic blowhard with a vagina.
June 14th, 2007 at 5:25 amEven Jimmy Cah-tair had better numbers in 1979 (21%) than Harry the Pussy Reid. And Congress is approaching Jimmy Carter numbers.
Just remember what happened to Mr Peanut head in 1980?
It ought to brink a smile to your faces?
Pelosi and Reid are despicable, evil characters. Maybe that is why the poll numbers on Congress is so bad?
June 14th, 2007 at 6:19 amIn this poll when people are being asked if the country is heading in the right direction, are the poll questions specific? I personally would say no, not because of the war (even though I feel the kid gloves should come off and our military should be allowed to fight), but rather immigration. That is my major contention with GW and the republicans in congress who back the shaministy bill. Really I feel this is why GW numbers are so low and Congress even lower. Americans want the illegals out and our borders secured. I am not saying that things are all rosy about the war, but more people are very upset about immigration. Reading this article however and listening to MSM you would think poll numbers are so low because of the war. I just hope Republicans wake up and see that immigration is the problem before they try and bring that bill back to life. Even more important before Stupid Harry Reid tries to cut off funding to our troops again, now that he has declared the surge a failure. I wander how he can do that when the surge is not even complete yet?
June 14th, 2007 at 8:38 amIs this the World War III in Iraq, or the World War III in the United States against the people of the United States by your own government.
With the systematic violation of the Constitution and the systematic removal of America’s Civil Rights under the guise of fighting Terrorism.
With all the border guards being shipped to Iraq, Terrorists must be flooding across the Mexican Border, oh, that’s right the Terrorist’s are already in America, their in the Whitehouse…

June 14th, 2007 at 9:18 amHey Tincan Sailor: I concur - we, as a society have become complacent. We have everything and had to put forth very little effort to aquire our wealth. No dicipline required. We EXPECT all we need, want and desire. We live in an age of entitlement and instant gratification at the expense of “the exertions of better men than himself.”
June 14th, 2007 at 9:34 amNot advocating anyone for Pres. Waiting until it matters. Just stating the facts as I see them.
