And The Major Headline From George Bush’s Press Conference Is…
The press was entirely uninterested in asking the President questions, and instead chose to use their airtime to make political statements. Statements mostly quasi-disguised as questions, but to no rational mind recognizable as anything other than propaganda.
David Gregory called Bush “Stubborn or in denial, but certainly not realistic.” To Gregory: Sarcastically, with an “I see through your bullshit” grin: “Thank you for the follow up…I see nothing’s changed in the new room.”
Bush remained entirely unruffled throughout the process, and although in the face of reporters spouting their usual moonbat lefty bumperstickers he was technically on the defensive, he actually never seemed defensive. It was striking and unexpected: he was absolutely jaunty, repeatedly zinged the press, and kept the shit-eating grin and swagger of a confident man in charge. He succesfully joked a lot. But he was full of gravitas and emotion when addressing the issues of our troops and their families, and of course, the war. He often looked like a man who was humoring a bunch of children. And I mean that in terms of the press’s intellectual capacity more than their decorum. And at times it appeared as if he was trying to educate a bunch of “special needs” children.
It didn’t come off as if the President was being cavalier - it came off as if he had finally figured out that there was no longer any point in indulging or even fearing dumbasses and poltical activists disguised as journalists, when the only thing that matters to God and country is doing, and defending, what is right.
The most tantalizing bit came at the end when he started to say, on the subject of Al Qaeda, “I’m starting to work with President Musharraf to…” and then he caught himself, seeming to me that he couldn’t spill some secret beans, and then after thinking a beat, said vaguely and cryptically, “He doesn’t want them in his country either”.
And as for Al Qaeda, he said definitively, “They are not as strong as they were before 9-11″
Man, that was a good ass review Pat. I wish the President had also shown this report from our other Ernie Pyle Michael Yon. Check out his July 11th 2007 posting.

July 12th, 2007 at 7:28 amAmen Pat!
July 12th, 2007 at 7:33 amThere is no respect for this President or interest in the facts for that matter anymore..these people are just a bunch of zombies now who cant get over there talking points and blind hate for this President and values this country was forged upon. It makes me sick! when will these people be stopped or marginalized? and wow i cant believe I am asking that question about our own damn media, never thought i would see the day
July 12th, 2007 at 7:59 amif al queda(dummycrat party of middle east) is as strong now as before 9/11 that means that they are weaker now than they were when slick willy was pres.. and i see the MSM 2 days ago said “no benchmarks made” and now it is 8of18,, that means alot of progress in 2days,,my son in ramadi says that the iraqi people have taken back anbar fm the democratic party of zaraquawi,,,
July 12th, 2007 at 8:01 amPres. Bush needs to get in front of the camera and out to the people MORE OFTEN. He should give press conferences OFTEN. Then, the people who voted for him would be reassured and be able to judge for themselves what he is saying. He performed well today. I didn’t catch the part with Gregory–what a disrespectful jerk, and he has been invited to White House dinners, too. Spoiled ingrate.
July 12th, 2007 at 8:27 amAlso, Helen Thomas is so disgusting, I can’t believe has her job–by any other rights, she should be a bag lady. Her condescending manner to the Pres. is simply outrageous.
July 12th, 2007 at 8:29 amI think GW invites Little Boyz like Gregory to WH dinners, so he can fuck with their heads. GW is funny as shit in person.
July 12th, 2007 at 8:31 amAs much as I am disgusted with the administration not being aggressive enough in the prosecution of this conflict by not letting the dogs of war completely off the leash, it never ceases to put a smile on my face when I see Helen Thomas sitting in the front row of the “press” conference with that look of disgust on her face at G.W.
I can only hope that all of the 72 Virgins each Jihadi earns looks just like her and worse. I can see the T-shirt now; a picture of troll face on it, like Che, with the caption “DON’T DO IT BOYS, YOU GET 71 MORE LIKE THIS ONE!”
July 12th, 2007 at 9:03 amTalking to the press corps is like trying to explain something to a four year old. You’ll explain it 20 times from 92 different directions and each time they will respond with, “but why, but why, but why”. I don’t know why the President doesn’t just say, “get away kid, ya bother me”.
July 12th, 2007 at 9:06 amDavid Gregory, who can concentrate on anything he has to say? I can’t for being amazed how much he looks like, without any need for special effects makeup mind you, Vincent from Beauty and the Beast!! He’s the fugliest “poltical activists disguised as journalist” to come down the pike since that old troll doll Hell-on-whells Thomas.
But really, Pat, great analysis. “And at times it appeared as if he was trying to educate a bunch of “special needs” children.” That says it all.
Dan-Your right as usual, about Bush screwing with some pompas ass of a “journalist” like the Beast (Gregory, no offense towards people who live in gutters), betcha W has some good chuckles with his buddies after those obligatory dinners.
July 12th, 2007 at 9:18 amI love this guy! 40 years from now, it’s going to be generally accepted that Dubya was quite simply one of our best presidents EVER as a statesman. Reagan, Nixon, T. Roosevelt and “W” Bush.
The man is so smart, he’s been throwing metaphorical bones at the left for his entire presidency and all they can do is CHOKE on them. Cretins.
July 12th, 2007 at 9:20 amThanks infidel. Interesting comparison of David Gregory.
I can’t follow him either. Indeed, every time I see that troll, my eyes roll off in the back of my eye sockets, because Gregory is so much like a spoiled 12 yr old?
And he’s a journalist? Well, on the other hand, one could say the same about Broomhilda Thomas. I can’t believe these pinheads actually got diplomas? Must have been an oversight on the part of that correspondence school that they graduated from?
July 12th, 2007 at 9:33 amA blast from the past for the MSM:
“Public affairs go on pretty much as usual: perpetual chicanery and rather more personal abuse than there used to be…” —John Adams
July 12th, 2007 at 9:55 amGood one, Marc. That could change the jihadis into choir boys in a big hurry.
July 12th, 2007 at 10:07 amBrilliant analysis, Pat, many thanks, another example of why your site is always one of my first stops on the worldwide web when I want the REAL news.
July 12th, 2007 at 10:28 amThank you Pat… I am extremely pleased with your candor and thoughtful analysis. It helps me explain to those I know how we should express our desires to DEFEAT al-queda and put the appeasers in their places as irrelevant to defending our country.
July 12th, 2007 at 11:29 amI was amazed that they were disrespectful to the PRESIDENT. It really pissed me off. And someone was coughing out loud as well, WHILE the President was talking! What on earth?? Also, I can’t believe they couldn’t fricking understand a single thing the President said. And they portray Bush as the dumb one? HARDLY. In fact, Bush looked like a school teacher trying to teach a group of mentally challenged children their ABCs. I especially loved the part when Bush kind of banged his fist after trying to explain the same ol’ point for the nth time.
God bless him, I hope he keeps strong.
July 12th, 2007 at 2:31 pmHere is who the press is controlled by as well as the Majority of Democrats. Here’s a hint It starts with The People’s

July 12th, 2007 at 2:45 pmThe president did a great job today. I’m with him till the end. To all those who wish the war was a nice 5 year WWII style war with a big parade at the end - remeber this, there were 290,000 US soldiers who weren’t in that parade and Europe suffered 60 million dead who would never see the parade. WWII was about as close to a phyric victory as you get just ask the 6 million jews, sorry ask the survivors. From those heights this war is going great. The dems should have a and STFU! Paco
July 12th, 2007 at 6:42 pmMarc, Great idea. You could sell them by the case.
July 12th, 2007 at 6:45 pmWe know from the WashPo the other day that the Religion of Pieces is fueled by sexual repression, but I think Thomas would cause some serious self-suppression. Can’t we send this old troll and her bagboy Vincent (David) to be our special envoy to Osama? They only riot and kill for cartoons. She’d have them bringing back another of their 7th century favorites — the eunuch!
And at times it appeared as if he was trying to educate a bunch of “special needs” children.
July 12th, 2007 at 6:58 pmI am sorry/and quite mad about this comment Pat, please in the future refrain from degrading and insulting our special needs children like that.
thank you
they say that history will show pres. bush the worst president in history…on the contrary it will show just the opposite..especially when we win in irag and all those that fought him will be labelled as traitors to our great country..hopefully he will stand stedfast until the end
July 13th, 2007 at 3:31 amI could have sworn that journalists were supposed to be unbiased. I say that as soon as you display bias such as these people do then they shouldn’t be considered journalists anymore and not allowed to attend press conferences and the like. Remind them what their job is.
