US Announces Capture Of Iranian-Linked Militant In Iraq
By VOA News
20 July 2007
The U.S. military in Iraq says coalition forces have captured a suspected terrorist with close ties to Iran’s elite Quds force.
A military statement Friday said the suspect was detained in a raid Thursday near Baqubah, and that he allegedly facilitated the transport of weapons and personnel from Iran to Iraq.
The statement said the suspect also is believed to have facilitated the flow of sophisticated roadside bombs into Iraq from Iran to be used against coalition forces. The bombs - known as explosively formed projectiles or EFP’s - can penetrate armor.
Iran has denied U.S. charges that it is providing weapons and training to Shi’ite militants in Iraq.
Iran and the U.S. discussed Iraq’s security situation in May, during the highest-level talks between the two countries in nearly 30 years. Both sides have said they are ready for a second round of talks on Iraq.
Who’s the pic of? Is that the dude?
July 20th, 2007 at 9:32 amTime for talk is over! Iran needs to be turned into a smoking hole! Incinerate the whole lot of them!
July 20th, 2007 at 9:39 amThank God I have cable high-speed, tough to keep up with the flow of information on this site lately.
I guess I suffer from info overload. I start my day on the computer with talk radio going and FNC on the television. It doesn’t have closed captioning. I didn’t feel like getting up to get the remote. But, the banner this morning said “Would the public stand for a second surge”. Anything more about that? By 10am I have to go lay down for an hour, I’ve already been up for 7 hours.
July 20th, 2007 at 9:45 amJust had a novel idea. I just read what I wrote and it dawned on me. It’s one of those little Bose credit card size remotes. I could take it to the other side of the room. I could even stick in my pocket. Duh.
July 20th, 2007 at 9:58 amPatrick, I promise I’ll stop playing. This blows me away the speed with which one can send a message to the other side of the world and have a response in a matter of seconds and have the whole world be able to read it.
July 20th, 2007 at 10:02 amThe time for negotiating with Iran should have ended permanently in 1979
July 20th, 2007 at 10:13 amThat can’t be the dude. He doesn’t look “captured” enough.
July 20th, 2007 at 10:14 amJ.C:
I listen to talk radio on my computer while cruising the news bureaus and Michael Yon and Pat. It seems that Pat has the best news site around. Him and Michael Yon should get together and create their own news organization and funnel the latest greatest news to talk radio. It’s not like talk radio isn’t picking up some of their reports…they are already doing that. I’d like to see a broader exposure for these two guys.
I sent their websites to my Reps in Congress. Everyone else should do the same. Not that anyone of them are smart enough to listen? But you never know.
July 20th, 2007 at 10:15 amDan, thank God I’m not the only one. When I go off on Congress members I send Patrick’s web site, “here, read this, beyatch”. Think there’s a support group for us somewhere? Speaking of support group, I’m going down the corner for only a few, that’s all. Be back in a few hours.
July 20th, 2007 at 10:24 amJ.C:
LOL. The support group is right here. Two beers for us.
July 20th, 2007 at 10:31 amIndeed. You (I) need your (my) sleep. Put down the remote. Step away from the screen. Face bed. Fall.
July 20th, 2007 at 10:40 amD. Coop said “Incinerate the whole lot of them!”

July 20th, 2007 at 1:48 pmGee, has anyone seen this hammered out in the main stream media? has Hillary or Obama given an credit to the seemingly repeated victories over the last month alone?
