“US Committed To Israel’s Supremacy Over Arab Armies”

The US remains committed to ensuring Israel’s military supremacy over Arab countries, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said during Sunday morning’s cabinet meeting.

Olmert confirmed that during his meeting with US President George Bush last month, it was agreed that Washington would increase its military aid to Israel by 30 billion dollars over the next ten years. “It is an increase of more than 25 percent starting next year,” said Olmert.

The prime minister’s comments followed a report that the US was working on reaching arms agreements with moderate Gulf states, specifically, a large-scale weapons deal to Saudi Arabia.

“A detailed and explicit commitment was given to ensure our qualitative military edge over the Arab states,” he said.

“We appreciate this support and [also] understand the will of the US to bolster the region’s moderate states that stand with the US and Israel in the fight against Iran,” continued the prime minister.

Although the right-wing voiced concerns about the latest US plan to sell weapons to Arab states, it stopped short of outright calls to block it.

“I am very concerned,” MK Yuval Steinitz (Likud) told The Associated Press. “I can understand the need to support moderate states like Egypt and Saudi Arabia, but on the other hand we have to remember that governments can be toppled, as in Iran.”

He said the United States had supplied Iran with fighter aircraft before its 1979 Islamic Revolution ousted the Western-leaning Shah.

“Now those same F-14s are being used to threaten US interests in the region,” Steinitz said.

But he indicated he would accept the Saudi deal if some safeguards were attached.

“I would like to see a very clear commitment that those advanced ships and airplanes will be positioned on the eastern side of the kingdom, close to Iran and the Persian Gulf, and not on the western side closer to Israel.”

At Sunday’s cabinet meeting, Olmert went on to say that the adoption of a report on recommendations to the long-term defense budget would ensure that the defense establishment’s funding would not be dependent on the economic opportunities of the next decade.

Olmert also told ministers that he was committed to a budget plan to improve the economic conditions of Holocaust survivors.

“There will be a [proposed] addition of millions of shekels to be allocated to Holocaust survivors,” said the prime minister, adding that the allocation was aimed at creating a situation where “there won’t be any survivor who cannot live with dignity.”

It isn’t arms and friendship that Israel lacks…it is leadership. All the arms in the world won’t do a damn thing for a government that is as piss poor as is Ohmert’s is.

The Israeli people better wake up and get rid of this wimp. The enemy is at the gate. Israel needs a Joshua to lead them, not an Ohmert.

    I stand with Israel.

I would be very afraid if I were fighting against them, not because of the military might, but because of the LORD.

Not to rock the boat, but the fact Isreal is still there shows me enough in regards to divine intervention. (A chosen people and their promiseland.) I think, in general, we should do our part to assist them.

I wonder how many people if given the opportunity would put their money where their rhetoric is…in support of Israel?

For example, anyone ever heard of Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein?
    No? Why not?

Well joining his group gives the average goya an opportunity to smack the jihadis in the head. The Rabbi doesn’t see it that way. But I do. Nothing pisses the Jihadis off worse than taking care of older holocost
adults living in the old USSR? Or helping one Jew achieve aliya.

Talking about helping Israel and saying that one supports Israel is one thing. Doing something about it is something else.

And PS. When God needed a Joshua or a David to lead Israel, He’s always come through. Even in modern times He gave Israel leaders such as Dyan. Meir and Sharon.

Who’s to say that Netanayu isn’t the next David? Ohmert and Perez are not David or Joshua. The sooner that they are gone, the sooner Israel can get back to the business of destroying their enemies, because talk is cheap.

I’m sure Olmert is on his way out. His approval ratings are lower then whale shit right now.

Unfortunately US aid comes with strings pulled by a liberal US State Department, still full of Clintonista anti-Bush creeps.

You make a great point Lady. Israel has enemies on all sides and yet she is still standing today. And will forever or my whole belief system will be proven wrong. Im willing to bet everything I have on God and the protection of His land and chosen people. Benjamin Netanyahu needs to hurry up and take over and lead the Israelis, the people there deserve more than they are getting now. Just on a side note: I’m very happy that the US and Israel are such strong allies, I wouldnt want it any other way
