Airing Now - Iraq Vet Chris Dunn’s “Weapons Company 1/25″
Alright readers, it’s time to become PatDollard.com Vloggers. This is a new Contest Feature encouraging everyone to participate actively as a creative contributor to the PatDollard.com community. I’d like anyone and everyone who has something to express, in words, pictures, music, whatever…to make a video, upload it to youtube and pop me a notifying email. I’ll check it out for posting here on the front page. I will hold a vote on the last two days of the month, and the winner will receive $100.00 and a Jihadikiller t-shirt.
The urban soundtrack fits well, can play the country music in the Green Zone.
August 3rd, 2007 at 8:45 amI don’t like rap let alone 50 cent but I like this video. Song fits in pretty good.
August 3rd, 2007 at 9:44 amI’m not a fan of rap at all, but at the time (mid way through our deployment) I felt it fit well.
CD
August 3rd, 2007 at 5:11 pmI have a hard time associating low-life, punk-ass, thug rap scribbled with self-glorification and dishonorable tactics, with the men and women in uniform. I think a better soundtrack coulda been found. just my .02 cents.

Good video
August 3rd, 2007 at 7:37 pmPretty good. Also not a big rap person, but it fits. Thanks Chris.
August 3rd, 2007 at 8:48 pmlook out chris, here comes the reverends
August 4th, 2007 at 5:43 amChris Dunn, thank you for your service.
This is a great vid. It is realistic.
It shows - almost without being overly gory - how bad it would be to see the things you all have seen while serving over in Iraq. War is never pretty or clean.
The rap song adds the gritty and, sorry, the feeling of just how fucked up the shit that goes on over there by the terrorists in that society is and what brought us there to begin with. I too do not like to associate our military with the rap culture, as Chad mentioned, but there are times when some of the songs fit to get a point and feelings across.
(I do like some selct rap music. This song fit the mood of the pics well. The words in the song matched. {I always cringe when I hear the ‘N’ word no matter what though. I hate that word no matter who uses it.})
I do understand why you chose it for this vid though.
Thank you again.
August 4th, 2007 at 10:23 amSandy, thank you very much for the kind words, you seam to understand the exact reason I made this video. I totally understand everyones reasons for not wanting to associate the American military with the rap culture; and I too was not trying to do that. I am not a fan of rap whatsoever and I actually thought of reediting the video with different music, but decided against it. The video captures what was going on at the time I was there and the way we felt each and every day. Any common visitor to youtube or liveleak has seam the “motto videos” showing jdams and explosions and all that and I wanted to make something different. In my crappy little 5 min video, I wanted to watcher to feel, for a brief momment, the realism of war. With politics and patriotism aside, I wanted the veiwer to understand what the grunts on the ground everyday see and expirence. I think that is why I was drawn so much to this site and to Pat’s ambition. Heres somebody that can do what I wanted to do on a much larger scale and to a much larger audience. Thank You

August 4th, 2007 at 11:52 amI would say Great video but I know this wasnt put together for that purpose, but to show the reality on the ground. War is hell and thank God for people like Chris Dunn and others in the military. Thanks for your service to this country. Alot of us still understand what it means to put country above all things, including politics. (It actually is a well put together video though) I like how it goes from still pictures to running video
August 4th, 2007 at 3:14 pmThe realism of the war resonates in your video.
I am glad you made it and shared it.
Voted for and added to favorites on YouTube.
I too am anxious to see Pat’s Documentary.
It will hammer home on a large scale
all the reality and the reasons of why we
fight and the sacrifices of men such as you
have made for us all.
God bless all our troops.
August 4th, 2007 at 4:52 pmJester, you did a great job. Not a rap fan myself. You would know a hell of a lot more than me about what song would fit your Vid.I listened to it a few times, and your choice did fit. Besides, after what you have been through,I haven’t earned the right to judge. I’m just glad you made it back home.My family and myself want to thank you for your service and your sacrifice. It is truly an honor to have you here.
August 4th, 2007 at 5:18 pmThank you your service to our country
August 4th, 2007 at 7:30 pmIsn’t the 1/25 a reserve unit out of Maine? They were in the first Gulf War. I had a friend I’ve lost track of who was in that unit, Sgt. John Cowan, don’t know what became of him.
August 4th, 2007 at 11:55 pmIt’s a reserve unit out of New England
