If you believe Obama, the entire world misunderstood him last week, or the press misreported him or…..something….
Barack Obama last week: “There are terrorists holed up in those mountains who murdered 3,000 Americans. They are plotting to strike again,” Obama said. “If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf will not act, we will.””

Obama said there was “misreporting” of his comments, that “I never called for an invasion of Pakistan or Afghanistan.” He said rather than a surge in the number of troops in Iraq, there needs to be a “diplomatic surge,” and U.S. troops should be withdrawn within a year.
Further, the U.S. senator from Illinois said, if there were “actionable intelligence reports” showing al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, the U.S. troops as a last resort should enter and try to capture terrorists. That would happen, he added, only if “the Pakistani government was unable or unwilling” to go after the terrorists.

He’d been asked a similar question a few hours earlier in Le Mars, where a man who gave his name as Mike Gilder first praised Obama’s opposition to the war, then said that, as he understood it, “You said recently that you would be willing to launch an attack on terorirst targets in the country of Pakistan without the support of the Pakistani government.”
“I’m sure as a lawyer you’re familiar with the principle of national sovereignty,” he instructed Obama, before continuing on a harsher note:
“Aren’t you really buying into the George Bush doctrine of fighting terrorism by attempting to hunt down and kill terorrists?”
So Leftists apparently believe that hunting down and killing terrorists is not a way to fight terrorism. I don’t know what to say. See, when the entire purpose of your party is nothing but national criticism, then ultimately, you end up just as nationally suicidal as the American Left ultimately is.

It was 1987! At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration.
There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!
He was being drilled by a senator; “Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?”
Ollie replied, “Yes, I did, Sir.”
The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, “Isn’t that just a little excessive?”
“No, sir,” continued Ollie.
“No? And why not?” the senator asked.
“Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir.”
“Threatened? By whom?” the senator questioned.
“By a terrorist, sir” Ollie answered.
“Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?”
“His name is Osama bin Laden, sir” Ollie replied.
At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn’t pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn’t. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?” the senator asked.
“Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of”, Ollie answered.
“And what do you recommend we do about him?” asked the senator.
“Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth.”
The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip.
By the way, that senator was Al Gore!

I couldn’t stop watching, because he was so forthright in explaining everything, I thought–these kinds of guys don’t run for office any more and they should–I’d vote for him for governor. Anyone who would hook up with Bill and stay with him after all he did before and during their marriage, is not worthy of much respect. She stayed for the power, despite his criminal behavior. Also, she’s supposedly a model of feminist power, but by doing what she did over the years, helping him cover up, etc., she betrayed her “feminist base.” We have sunk to a new low if these people are the best we can come up with. I hope she’s the candidate, and then she is revealed in the media for what she is. And if by chance, she fools all the American people, then heaven help us because having a dispicable person who only cares about power as President is not in our best interest.
