Veterans group launches ads to counter anti-war organizers

Vets for Freedom, a leading veterans group that supports continued military involvement in Iraq, rolled out ads in four states this week in an effort to rebut an ongoing barrage of anti-war protests during the monthlong August recess.

The group, which includes more than 7,000 veterans of the military campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan, has also launched a grass-roots campaign in 25 states to organize its members as a counterbalance to groups such as MoveOn.org and Americans Against Escalation in Iraq that have been pressuring lawmakers for years to rescind their support for the war.

Two of the ads ask Sens. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) and John Warner (R-Va.) not “to surrender to Al Qaeda,” arguing that Congress should not “second-guess our commanders on the ground” and not “sugar-coat retreat by calling it deployment.”

Both lawmakers are seen as key swing votes in the fall when Congress reconsiders the U.S. mission in Iraq following a progress report by Army Gen. David Petraeus in September.

The other two ads thank Sens. Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

finally a group to “support the troops”.. i as a dad of 2 OIF vets thank those that have the means to speak up.. if only sen. treason feingold would get the msg.. i have tried and he won’t listen to me..he has no decency to support those that are willing to do the job…he is only willing to pump up his own agenda.

The biggest anti-war protest of the year will be in DC on Sept. 15. Everyone get your rearends to The Wall in the AM to counter all these commie groups. They’re demanding that Congress defund the War and also Impeach the President and Vice-President

Gathering of Eagles which is made up of many many Pro-Troop and Pro-American Patriot organizations will be there to counter these assholes.
We were there on March 17 to face off with this same bunch. ANSWER COALITION, BLACK BLOC, CODE PINK, etc.
Hanoi Jane was a no show because we put the word out after her Protest in Jan. along with Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon and other Hollywood pukes that we were coming.Their only scheduled speaker to come in March was Cindy”Lil Chavez” Sheehan.

    Everybody pass the word.

Thanks Pat for allowing me to post this. You are the best.

I wholeheartedly agree, 31MIKE. DC is the place to be in September!! I was there on January 27th when one of the OIF Vets, an amputee from Walter Reed, was spit on. Also that day, a “peace-loving” father and his two teenage sons tried to sneak up behind this same Vet with wooden sign posts to beat him up. Luckily the police, who were surrounding us, were able to stop them before they could get too close. In March when the Commies made online threats about desecrating The Wall, it was the first time that the Park Service put up metal detectors and searched everyone before they were allowed near it. When Code Pink, Hanoi Jane et al heard that the Gathering of Eagles and Rolling Thunder were going to protect The Wall and were going to stand up to them, they no-showed by the thousands. Every Friday night, Code Pink is in front of Walter Reed “supporting” our troops by protesting the war. In December 2004, they also “supported” the troops by taking $600,000 in cash and supplies to the insurgents in Iraq. We will not let them go unanswered again. We will not let the same thing happen to our OEF/OIF Vets as what happened to our Vietnam Vets. Eagles Up!!

    Barbara, You are 100% right.
I along with several other Patriots go to WR to stand with the folks from Free Republic. They have been coming there every Fri. night for over 2 years to stand at the entrance to Support the Troops.
The Moonbats have been pushed down the streetfor quite some time and Free Republic has taken all 4 corners at the entrance. The Wounded Warriors love it and some come to the fence to shake our hands and thank us, but we tell them they have it backwards. We are here to thank them.

Back in March there were a few that tried to get through the wall of Vets only to get kicked in the ass and sent back across the street. I was right there when all this was going on. They were trying anything they could to get to the Memorials and desecrate them.
This time i believe they will be more determined because we haven’t let up on them anywhere. We’ve followed Cindy from town to town this past month until she finally refused to get out of her car when she saw us and left her Commie friends standing with their thumbs up their ass.

Eagles Landing will assemble in Washington, D.C. on September 15, 2007 in support of America, our troops, and our fallen brothers and sisters.

    Objective 1.

We will engage the Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER) rally/march, scheduled for the same day, which is viewed as an anti-American, anti-troops, destructive, movement.

This engagement will be conducted in non-violent, non-confrontation, non-partisan, non-political, lawful freedom of speech manner….this implies we will not be run over.

    Objective 2.

Protect hallowed memorials from violence, vandalism, desecration or other form of destruction or dishonor.

Demonstrate to our troops that America has their back, will accept only victory, surrender not an option.

    Objective 3.

Confirm to the families of our warriors that we honor their loved ones, pray for their safety, and acknowledge their sacrifices.

Encourage the vast number of patriotic Americans to stand up for America, show love for America, have faith in America, and that America is worth fighting for.

Confirm to the enemies of America that wars we fight are not lost until America speaks…America is saying loud and clear, “We’ve never lost and we’re not starting now”.

Saving up my money, September’s going to be busy. One in New York and one in DC. I love talking train rides.
