Illegals receive benefits that American citizens do NOT, and we get cheap
lettuce.
It is my opinion that American political leaders believe that Mexico’s
citizens have elected them. I say that because illegals reap benefits that
legal American citizens do not. Illinois is one of 10 states that provide in
state college tuition to illegals at the expense of legal taxpayers. You and I,
both Democrat and Republican foot the bill, not for sons and daughters of
Illinois and not sons and daughters of Iowa, Missouri, Indiana or Wisconsin or
any state. But we do offer the sons and daughters of Mexico in state tuition
at the taxpayers expense. Legal aliens from Mexico have to pay out of state
tuition, so there is great incentive to be an illegal alien. Cheap lettuce
never tasted so good.
One of the other great benefits that illegals receive is they are rewarded for
their illegal activity. If illegals don’t pay taxes, not a problem, not for
an illegal. I wonder if legal American citizens stopped paying taxes, would
the IRS just forget it. I’ll bet not. Cheap strawberries never tasted so
good.
Some of the great things that come with illegals are, Mexican gangs, illegal
drugs, crimes of all kinds, you can find a story almost everyday about an
illegal committing a rape, drunk driving, robbery, and murder. Once the
illegal has a green card, the entire family then is eligible for entry into the
USA. I read that the Mexican gangs are now working with terrorist to sell drugs
on our streets to fund terror around the world. {Washington Times} When these
criminals are caught and imprisoned like in California , the cost is
staggering. $1 Billion a year is spent on illegals in prison in the state of
California. California also spends more than $2.2 billion a year on educating
Mexican citizens. Like they don’t have enough problems. Cheap apples never
tasted so good.
In the last Amnesty debate Democratic and Republicans voters spoke clearly to
America’s political leadership rebuking any idea of amnesty, and in building
the wall and not spending tax money on illegals.. It was a pleasure to find
that Democrats and Republicans can, in fact, work together to achieve what the
country needs and people desire. The people stopped our foolish leaders but
only for a day.
Amnesty has reared its ugly head again. Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin has been
working very hard for the citizens of Mexico again. Recently, Mr. Durbin
attempted to add “the Dream Act” to legislation in a military defense
spending bill. Just last week, a House agriculture bill giving welfare to
illegals caused a heated and partisan debate that caused the house GOP
members to walk out. With three bills that include amnesty coming in the fall
session, I know that amnesty is NOT over and is just beginning . Senate bills
S 237 and S340, along with House bill HR 371 have part of the amnesty bill
included in these agriculture bills. Cheap lettuce never tasted so good.
Clearly, America’s political leadership has attempted to hide amnesty in
these bills because they can’t be successful or honest with the American
people. Cheap oranges never tasted so good.
It’s my opinion that amnesty will happen in the dark of night and behind
close doors. As this nations leaders import Mexico’s poor to replace
people in existing jobs and offer welfare to illegal Mexican citizens, know
that this nations leadership is on the verge of giving legal American
taxpayers all the cheap lettuce we can stand and shove it down our throat. The
items I find interesting are that when our political leaders have achieved
amnesty for the people of Mexico, the price of lettuce will be sky high and
it’s quite obvious that Washington has way to much money on their hands.
I would like to ask both Democrats and Republicans to come together for this
issue again and let our will be heard because evidently our leaders are not to
be trusted.

August 11th, 2007 at 8:39 amWhat I find funny is that the union’s are such complete sold out whores for the d’rats, Many of these illegals are taking skill jobs that usually would go to union labor, so instead of employing an American citizen at a wage that he/she can then enjoy a middle class life & raise a family, contractors are hiring illegals at far lower wages. I would rather pay union scale and get a professional who has gone through apprenticeship and years of skill development and also has an investment in the community he works in. Or for a few bucks less you can get someone who is here with unproven skills and little concern for the quality of work he does since he has no loyalty to our community, and sends his earnings out of this country.
And what of the loss of revenue from wage taxes from the employer and the illegal?
So who is the bigger fool? the contractor who hires illegals, the illegals themselves, or the unemployed union members who vote for the d’rats believing they have them in their best interest?
Not all the jobs taken are very low wage field labor.

August 11th, 2007 at 9:38 amThe more I read about our government the less I understand it. Bottom line for me is this. If our leaders are more concerned with the illegal immigrants, why don’t they just pack up and move to Mexico. Like many of you, I’ve worked hard to make ends meet only to have it taken away from me and given to those that want a free ride. What happened to my civil liberties? Why is it that I don’t matter anymore? If the good people from Mexico truly want to make a difference for their families they must take responsibility for their actions and obey the law! Man up or move on.

Our “congress” thinks they can wear us out on this issue and the democrats are trying wear the Republicans out. They keep feeding us this horse crap like “they are doing jobs Americans wont do” and “This country would be in trouble without them”. The democrats just know they would gain about 20 million more voters which would more than likely lead to a one party system. I say send them home and lock the border

August 12th, 2007 at 11:44 pmWell, it is ironic that my nephew, a National Merit scholar and one of the smartest kids I know, is sweating out how to pay for college. He lives on the east coast, but is looking at California colleges. He would pay a higher tuition rate than an illegal from Mexico (who attended HS in Cal. at my taxpayer expense). I didn’t bring this up with his liberal parents, because frankly, I didn’t want to ruin a perfectly nice family visit.
