Dodd trying to stand out as Dem candidates spin surge results

Politico:

Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) tried to put some distance between himself and his fellow Democratic presidential hopefuls in the Senate on Wednesday, attacking both Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) for praising parts of President Bush’s troop surge in Iraq.

“It is useless to argue the merits of a specific tactic when the strategy itself is failed,” Dodd said in a statement.

“We are coming off the bloodiest summer of this misguided war and it should be clear that there can be no military solution in Iraq,” said Dodd.

In the past two days, both Clinton and Obama have praised aspects of the surge, with Clinton telling a veterans group that in some parts of Iraq the change in tactics is working. Dodd, like other second-tier candidates, is trying to figure out a way to stand out from the front-runners, so he criticized Obama and Clinton for even debating the issue.

“In fact, debating over military tactics when there is no military solution only undermines efforts by those of us who believe that we must change course in Iraq now and begin to immediately redeploy U.S. combat forces so that Iraqi leaders will have the impetus to find a political accord,” Dodd said.

Dodd is irrelevant and will remain so.

shut up Dodd, you shameful surrender monkey..people who argue the progress in Iraq are either stupid or have an alternative agenda that doesnt include American victory..Victory in Iraq equals defeat for the DemoRats and they are going crazy right now

  3. JJIrons

Desperate, Chris Dodd (D). Simply desperate.

  4. Dan (The Infidel)

Odd Dodd. Another useless Dhimocrum. His debate with O’reily refgarding his pandering to the Diaper Babies at the DailyKos Konvention was as despicable as his positions on the war. He is a mighty troll on a sinking ship.

  5. Birdddog

    What an asshole.

  6. CplUsmc

No military solution? What are you gonna do? Ask them to quit trying to kill us? And WHEN they don’t do what exactly? Using force is out of the question… SO i guess ask again nicer?

  7. Clyde Conneer

Half a “waitress sandwich” with Ted Kenneddy was the pinnacle of Dodd’s career. It’s been downhill from the pits since then.

  8. Bill

More incompetent self serving buffoonery on parade. He is a true credit to his despicable party.

Mike the Vietnam Vet is right–Dodd is irrelevant and will remain that way.
Are these wannabes waiting for Hillary to have a meltdown? She is insignificant in my mind, but Obama, Edwards, Dodd, etc. should save their money, energy, and time and just get out of the way and quit talking because they don’t have a chance unless Hillary does meltdown.
None of these anti military assholes has a chance of being President of the USA until they convince people they have become born again hawks. And they can’t sell that message.
The people of the USA want to be free, protected, and secure in the belief that the administration will support our MILITARY HEROES. The demasses can’t provide that assurance. They can only support a pull out in all military engagements. That doesn’t make me feel secure.

    JJIron,

Pathetic is more like it when referring to traitors like Dodd. His constituents should issue a recall vote on his worthless carcass.

    “I THINK, therefore, I am”…..NOT a Dhimmicrap.

With each passing day (and the profuse passing of foul air from the DEMolishthiscountryocrats), I thoughfully and carefully polish the honorable badge of Conservatism I wear, and display it proudly and prominently on my sleeve.
