KABUL _ Taliban have split over reports regarding the release of two female Korean hostages. While the Taliban spokesman Qari Yousaf Ahmadi told media outlets that the two women who have been set free at undisclosed location in Ghazni, were likely to arrive in the city in an hour. Neither the Afghan government nor the Korean delegation confirmed the report.
Later, a Taliban source told The Korea Times that the commander holding the hostages had withheld the release till Sunday afternoon. The source said they had received orders from their leadership regarding the release of the two female hostages as a goodwill gesture but they had not set them free as yet.
He said they would be freed on Sunday afternoon. Earlier, Yousaf Ahmadi, the mouthpiece of the militants, told this scribe over the telephone that the hostages had been released.
The news on the release of the two sick women spread like jungle fire in Kabul.

They’re a lot like the liberalites when it comes to “nuances of truth”….
August 11th, 2007 at 10:46 pmThey should’ve already tried an operation to free the hostages by force and kill the kidnappers right there in their tracks.
