Three Al Qaeda Leaders Killed In Diyala

Baaquba, Aug 31, (VOI)- Joint Iraqi-U.S. forces killed three elements of al-Qaeda armed group on Friday near to Muqdadiya district, an official security source said.
“A joint force of Iraqi and U.S. personnel waged on Friday morning a security operation in Mansouriyat al-Jabal region near to Muqdadiya district, to hunt down for three al-Qaeda leaders,” the source told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI) on condition of anonymity.
“Intelligence reports asserted the presence of the three gunmen in the region. the force rushed to the area and clashed with an armed group,” he also said.
“The forces managed to kill the three key leaders and to confiscate amount of ammunition and six local-made bombs,” the source noted.
“The operation ended without casualties among the forces,” he affirmed.
Baaquba, capital city of Diala province, is 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
