August 5th, 2007 at 7:35 amWow a Turks on a stabo? Big whoop.
The PKK needs to be nuetralized by the Kurds themselves. We don’t need another war on Iraq’s doorstep.
This is a problem where the US could be a big help. As in why not convince the PKK to attack Iranian Quds instead of Turks?
I don’t really care what their politics is/are. If we can get the cooperation of the 1920 brigades anything is possible.
August 5th, 2007 at 7:47 amFrenchy:
No. The reason behind this conflict goes deeper than that:
“The formation of a Kurdish state was supposed
August 5th, 2007 at 7:59 amto have been accomplished through the Treaty of Sevres in 1920 which said that the Kurds could have an independent state if they wanted one (Bonner, p. 46, 1992). With the formation of Turkey in 1923, Kemal Ataturk, the new Turkish President, threw out the treaty and denied the Kurds their own state. This was the beginning of the
Turkish-Kurdish conflict.”
