U.S. Attacks “Bad” Police Station In Diyala
Dyiala, Aug 26, (VOI) – Four policemen were killed and at least 11 others wounded when U.S. helicopters opened fire at a police station in Khanaqin district, Diala province, on Sunday, local residents said.
“The U.S. warplanes fired guided missiles on a police station, totally destroying the building. A number of bodies are still under the debris,” an eyewitness from Khanaqin, eastern Baquba, told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
“Four bodies and 11 injured policemen were retrieved but the casualties are likely to rise,” he added.
Another witness told VOI that he has seen “two U.S. helicopters firing missiles at an Iraqi police faciliy,” adding “when we drew closer we saw the building razed to the ground.”
The U.S. side did not comment on the incidents.
Khanaqin lies 165 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
