Edwards Attacks “So Called War On Terror” Again - Proposes New Agency

September 7th, 2007 Posted By Pat Dollard.

Also, in a shocking move, the AP provided a link to John Edwards’ campaign website on this story. I sort through the APs stories, and have never seen them link a candidate before. I do see their endless leftist propaganda, however. I need to do post on it one day, it’s shocking. Let’s see if this continues just for Dems.

Here was how they linked it at the bottom of their wire post:

Edwards Proposing Anti-Terrorism Agency

Sep 7 10:28 AM US/Eastern

NEW YORK (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards is proposing an international organization to fight terrorism through shared intelligence—cooperation that he says will combat the dangers facing the United States where President Bush has failed.

“We need a counterterrorism policy that will actually counter terrorism,” Edwards said in remarks prepared for delivery at Pace University. “We’ve got to throw away the failed George Bush policies of the past, and move in a bold new direction.”

The 2004 vice presidential nominee was delivering his speech four days before the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, not far from Ground Zero. The speech also comes in chief primary rival Hillary Rodham Clinton’s home district, and he made a point of challenging he notion that post-9/11 reforms have made the nation safer.

“Today, terrorism is worse in Iraq, and it’s worse around the world,” Edwards said in excerpts provided by his campaign. “It means the results are in on George Bush’s so-called global war on terror and it’s not just a failure, it’s a double-edged failure.”

Edwards said the centerpiece of his terrorism policy will be a new multilateral organization called the Counterterrorism and Intelligence Treaty Organization. He said it will be designed to coordinate operations like the recent arrest of three suspected terrorists in Germany who were suspected of plans to bomb airports and other institutions in the country.

“Those nations who join will, by working together, show the world the power of cooperation,” Edwards said. “Those nations who join will also be required to commit to tough criteria about the steps they will take to root out extremists, particularly those who cross borders. Those nations who refuse to join will be called out before the world.”

Edwards accused Bush of focusing on Cold War institutions designed to win traditional wars instead of cooperation with allies to take out small hostile groups. He also accused him of “an exclusively short- term focus on the enemy we know” and “a foreign policy of convenience that readily does business with whoever is available and regularly turns a blind eye when our allies behave wrongly or fail to cooperate.”

“Most of all, instead of reckless, solo pursuit of an ideological agenda that abandons our moral authority and disregards our allies, we need to re-engage with the world and reassert our moral leadership,” Edwards said.

Oh Jesus fucking Christ…can anyone grab this putz by the lapels and shove him face first into the UN?

Bush’s war on terrorism has been hampered by a media and democrat party who want Bush to fail.

me: Going to go back to bombing aspirin factories Breck girl?

““It means the results are in on George Bush’s so-called global war on terror and it’s not just a failure, it’s a double-edged failure.””

me: Wrong again Breck girl. The terrorism that you see around the world is as a result of the jihad that has been declared against all non-muslims in an attempt to revive the Muslim “Golden Period” of conquest.

Try reading their playbook Breck-girl, start with Das Koran.
Study the rise of modern jihadism.

You can create all the federal agencies that you want…it will change nothing. You can withdraw from all the battlefields that you want…the battle space will only shift to another venue….the Islamic World Conquest War will continue ad nauseum.

In jihad, there is only victor and vanquished Breck girl. You can talk all you want about all other alternatives. The other truth Breck-girl is that in jihad there is no compromise either. Hudna, yes.

The Breck-girl might want to stick to channeling spirits and ambulence chasing…or foreclosing on poor people in N.O. He isn’t much good for anything else.

    Screw pretty boy floyd.

    All right, listen up!

To Pat Dollard and his readers:

Pat with your permission I’d like to ask a request from the readers, a sort of project.

BACKGROUND: I’ve been spending time talking with Europeans online, getting there feelings on Islam, Socialism, government, the media, etc. Surprisingly (frankly, shocked the hell out of me), many Europeans are afraid, very afraid, of the Islamic colonization of Europe. Also, many would like to see there rights restored (case in point: they’re not allowed to have an anti-Islam protest march!).

PROBLEM: I’ve asked several questions, some deliberately open-ended, like how do feel about Islam, or what do you think about your government. Everyone has there own opinion. Here’s what truly scary: Anytime I ask them a direct question as, What they would do to protect themselves or there families in the event of Islamic/Civil War in Europe, I get? N o t h i n g. No lie. One in British slang said ‘Sod All’. When I asked for a translation, he said it meant ‘Nothing’. I asked another what his or other ideas were to counter this threat, his exact reply was ” I wish I had something to say.” Now, I know my Americans. Most Americans (at least the conservative, gun-owning, truck-driving, beer drinking, REAL and PRAGMATIC Americans) would easily describe what they would do, how they would do it, what weapons they’d carry, caliber, how much, where’d they go, and on and on.

PROJECT: Like it or not, we need Europe. We need to re-teach there boys to be MEN. To defend themselves and their families. To learn that they can never, ever depend on government, only themselves. How to demostrate and fight back. How to take charge of there government. Now, be polite as much as you can. Please don’t call them the obvious spineless that they currently are. They’re ancestors used be ours. They were the Romans and Caesar, Charles Martel who in 732AD beat back the invading Muslims. Britannia and Churchill. They’ve lost it now. Let’s see what we can do. Start here at www.brusselsjournal.com. It’s a conservative journal (shock!). Registering is easy. Then, they will very shortly email you your login and password.

SUMMARY: All you can do is talk. They’ve lost all sense of action. They’ve been nannied and their balls haven’t descended yet like there bad-ass forefathers. Let’s gently help them insert their hands into their vagina’s, and pull their balls out. Teach them to let it breath and that it need’s to be in fresh air! Teach them that you always need a little barbarism in you to keep you free. That self-preservation is your God-given right and no man or government can take that away from you.

Please take the time and remember the time difference. I’m not Sally Struthers. I’m just a concerned American. Go Fred Thompson.

    Greetings:

bd-couldn’t have typed it better. In my profession I speak to ‘foriegners’ all the time. I hear the same things. They’ve (Europeans) had their guts kicked out of them and many think they’re alone both in their communities and in the world.

How do we do something like the shipping of arms to Brits after the evacuation of Dunkirk?

Maybe if enough Europeans (civilian organizations, military organizations, Boy Scouts - Before you spout off, Dan-the Boy Scouts went insurg in Holland and other places during WWII (read up on the orange scarf), etc)) begin asking for help from America this can be used to shove up the ass of Dems who think everything’s just fine.

    bd:

Nice little project you have. Good luck. I think of Europeans in French sense. There are those that follow Marshall Petan and those that follow the Resistance.

Those that follow Petan are the ones in the majority. If they run into a jam again, they’ll need outside help. They do not value their freedom highly enough to either fight for it, or bleed for it.

    Good luck.

  10. Mess

bd, I enjoyed your post yet I doubt we can show Europe what they need to do.

The U.S. took an aggressive position post 9/11 and Europe has largely been counter to our goals against terrorism. Europe has had severe terrorist attacks and foiled a number of terror attacks yet they continue to stick their heads in the sand.

If terrorist blowing up trains killing over a 100 innocent civilians on board can’t motivate the Euros to find their balls, I’m afraid nothing I say or do will make a difference.

  11. Mess

With regards to the Breck girl, there’s the ticket to fighting global terrorism. Let’s listen to the guy who’s paranoid with his general appearance, too afraid to go on FOX News and has his wife handle anything remotely difficult.

  12. Steven D

    Great analysis, bd!

Michael Yon had a very good dispatch talking about this same type of attitude in Iraq. His main points were that in meetings between civic leaders and military leaders, Iraqis didn’t know how to solve any of their infrastructure problems, and our military commanders were well suited to the task because of their experience managing bases and varying numbers of troops.

That is what Socialism does to people - they become dependent on government to do things for them, and they lose all sense of ambitition, creativity, and all of the “can do it” attitude. And this is what the Liberals (Hillary Clinton, you’re one of them, regardless of whether you “consider yourself a ‘progressive’”) want to do to America.

I’m reading F A Hayek’s “The Road To Serfdom” right now, and he details how the slow creep toward Socialism eventually leads to National Socialism (Nazism/Fascism). The path inevitably leads in that direction, but like bd intimates, I also think it can be reversed. But we need leaders to stand up and fight, and there are currently no Conservative leaders willing to do so. Ronald Reagan was one who saw this clearly, as is Rush Limbaugh, but Rush’s talents, as he openly admits, are for rallying the troops and analyzing the situation, not leading the fight. I think Tony Blair saw it to some extent, as well as John Howard of Australia.

Like George W. Bush, I believe that the human heart yearns to be free, and that the spark of liberty cannot be extinguished. In Michael Yon’s columns, he speaks of an Iraqi nicknamed “Tonto” who they call when they want something done, and Tonto has an amazing ability to rally those Iraqis around him to accomplish whatever task they are given. Our military is filled with Tontos. America is filled with Tontos.

And even Europe has a few.

“Those nations who join will also be required to commit to tough criteria about the steps they will take to root out extremists, particularly those who cross borders. Those nations who refuse to join will be called out before the world.””

Hmmmm…so you mean you’re gonna create a big elaborate organization of countries….to fight terrorism….and make everyone join (with us or against us?) or else “call them out before the world?” And what does that mean, just say “hey, why won’t you sign the anti-terrorism pack you big meanie!” or would you then not be obliged to invade them….

I can’t believe some people actually RESPECT this guy, and would spend a precious vote on him. Mind boggling.

  15. bd

Dan, Mess, StevenD, thanks for the posts.

Look, admittedly, I’m not sure if I can accomplish anything.

But action needs to be taken. Euro’s are paralyzed by a combination of indecision of thought, fear of reproach, and institutional indoctrination.

But a spark needs to happen, probably amongst many people there.

They need a Winston Churchill, a Giuseppe Garibaldi, a Charles de Gaulle (gulp), an Otto Von Bismarck (yikes!).

    We need a Ronald Reagan.

    But we need the sparks.

Please give it shot. It’s only posting ideas and messages. The Brussels Journal is a (European) conservatie site, and remember the time zone difference, so probably in the morning and evenings are the best times.

Nevertheless, they are there, they do in fact exist. Let’s help them, if all we can do is post.

    Better then the alternative.

and, dear readers, if you think that we surrender to the radical islam, your pretty wrong, but we don’t do noise on our results, and anyway that’s a tradition of secret, that’s why we get results

how do you think that none terrorist attack occured in our country since a decade ?

France has the biggest islam population in EU though : because we survey their activities, not meaning the riots in surburbs (a youth unemplyment revolt), these are nothing compared to the terrorism

  19. bd

I’m sure everyone has their own idea of what we need, what we should keep, and what kind of apocalyptic nightmare would happen if we lose the West.

Make no mistake, we talking about losing Western Civilization, either fairly rapidly or very slowly.

    Here’s my take:

People need things. Food, water, shelter. Overtime, to avoid killing each other we created rules. Government. Different groups vy for the same things.

Long story short we have many types of governments and civilizations.

I will call ours Western Civilization. It is spread out from roughly Poland, tracing West through the whole of Europe, across the Atlantic to North America, and again across the South Pacific to Australia and New Zealand. This is a rough approximation.

Roughly speaking we have 3 types of governments: Socialist, Republic, and a bizarre Frankensteinian conglomeration of Socialist/Monarchist (UK Commonwealth). Socialism has failed in the past and will fail. It is inevitable. Republicanism is fairly stable.

Socialism has the problem of shackling it’s citizens and bankrupting it’s treasuries. Republicanism has the problem of people taking advantage of the freedom’s it provides and can slowly usurp it. Frankenstein hate fire.

Because Socialism will always fail we must discard it. Because Frankenstein hate fire, it must divorce itself and go back to what it once was, a parliamentary monarchy, a distant cousin of Republicanism.

Rupblicanism and parliamentary monarchies both need super eternal vigilance.

This civilization and these forms of government were born out of Greece, and spread by Rome. It collapsed because it’s own people didn’t care. In it’s prime, people were free to trade, make money, provide for their families, and were protected from bandits, pirates, and invaders. It wasn’t 100%, but was better than anarchy (the stone age). After it’s collapse, things sucked. If there was a suckometer, its suckage factor would be quite high. Europe took roughly 1,000 years to build itself back up to where it was at.

Once people had freedom again, it built back up.

If we lose our Western Civilization, our Republicanism, our Anglo-Romano traditions, we will go back to the dark ages. Civilization low, suckage factor high.

Currently, by my analysis, if we lose Europe, the Dark Ages is around the corner.

So I say to myself “BD, things are starting to suck now, and maybe suck more later. Let me talk to those Euro’s, see what I can do.”

And, who really wants to see the Eiffel tower turned into a Prayer Call Minaret for Islam and St. Peter’s Square turned into Bin Laden’s Square?

    Because that… would suck.

    Spark alert!

Wily from (presumably) Belgium will be going to an Islam demonstration on 9/11 to counter it! His exact words were:

‘I’m fed up. I’ll be there on Tuesday. Let them close down the entire subway as far as I’m concerned, at least the ‘jongeren’ (=Arab youths engaged in organized crime) will not be able to rob passengers while it’s closed down…’

There was an anti-Islamization of Europe demonstration…
It is not allowed by the Socialists.

Thank God Sarkozy was elected; he was the only one who wanted to deal with the Islamist terrorist scum in the right way!

  25. France the retour

BD, I am afraid, civilisations are mortal, it took 4 centuries for the roman empire to be overwelmed by barbarian tribes,(uhe, the Franks were one of them )

I don’t think that islam is gaining tomorrow, once the people get enough money to enjoy life and leasures, they’ll refrain their practice of a religion ; as far as the franks, they were used by the romans to make war on their borders and were retribuated with lands and notable employments : that was integration !
    in France we are the only country in EU with lesser islam practcants, and their children can study free, get a good job when available ;

exemple : Rachida Dati, an algerian-maroccan girl : minister of justice, and I can tell you, she is more severe than a french towards immigration delinquance… so I remain optimist, if we are overwelmed, that will be slowly, and I hope not too painful

  26. Jenfidel

Edwards is the consummate idiot Leftist Liberal: one minute he says that the WOT is nothing but a “bumper sticker” and the next minute he’s yapping about forming an international agency to fight that bumper sticker!

Invading Iraq may have been the wrong thing to do. Or not. Only time will tell. But to hear Edwards make criticism of Bush policy while patently ignoring the Dem’s longstanding policy of “Do-Nothing-Ism” is crass. Notice how the dems are putting forth ideas to fight terrorism AFTER Bush decided to take a more offensive strategy.

I suggest all the libs like Edwards actually get out more and see what the rest of the world is like. Then, they would quit hating America and see it for what it is–a wonderful land of opportunity where the streets may as well be paved with gold, as far as how free and blessed it is. His reminds me of was it Plato or Aristotle or one of those guys who talked about the cave, and the shadows on the cave walls. He looks at the shadows and trys to make up theories about what is happening, without actually knowing. Very childlike. Pelosi, Reid, Billary, Schumer–these guys are snakes in the snake pit. Edwards is just naive, not quite a snake, as far as I can tell. The left-dominated MSM likes to tell us the “rest of the world” hates America. That’s because that’s their spin. Some of them might resent or dislike us because they are so gosh darned jealous of what we have. It took America less than 250 years to create the world’s most powerful, good, rich nation. It took Europe thousands of years to create their pinnacle. I’ll give them credit though–while they were building Chartres Cathedral, our Indians were still living in teepees, scratching out cave paintings. And France/Retour: the Nazis extinguished democracy in Europe and would have killed all the Jews, and you would be speaking German, but for the US. Remember that! Remember: we didn’t do D Day to save France (they aren’t worth it)–it was to save Democracy and the world from Naziism. The Jews appreciate it, even if the French don’t.

Retour: Yea, it’s boring. I suggest you recall twice in the past century we saved France because it couldn’t save itself. We now know it wasn’t worth it (saving France, that is). I now know why France and other countries and the US Dems keep pushing for a defeat for the US in Iraq: they want us to be like France and join the club: a vanquished, has been nation of effete intellectuals whose glory days are past. They want us to join the club– so we can become socialist losers, just like the French. I don’t want to indict all French people: some are enterprising and creative and have risen above their ignomous past. Oh, and France: last time I was there, all businesses are locked up tight as a drum until past 10 am. No one is up as late as 0830–you can’t find a cup of coffee or a bite to eat.

    Jenfidel:

Nice bit of French. Good stuff. Frenchy is so out of touch with reality. She’s a Typical leftist soft European fool.
    She’ll love the burqua.

    Bd:
    Right on…right on…

    Frenchy:

You are a pinhead as always. You’re an expert on nothing. Your moral compass is broken and you have no common sense.
You’re a waste of life. You’ll enjoy the burqua. It will suite you well.

  52. Goodbye Natalie

It is amazing that a flaccid penis like Silky could even be remotely considered Presidential material.

Equally amazing is that you could find 12 rubes for a jury that would award this douche bag a gazillion dollars to somehow make him of consequence.

I’ll bet he advertises his “services” on the front of the local phonebook.

BD, so, you admit you’d like to come over just for raping the french women, I hope that your autorities read your offensing litterature and make a good survey on you

Jenfidel, nice try in our language, how comes you learnt it ?

Danny boy, your a little doggy, bark, bark, bark… coucher ! pas bouger ! I wonder if your a faithful person for your country though ?

  54. France the retour

    libtard,

I wonder if you have chosen your pseudo deliberately, because it suits you, I suppose you were a clever pupil, hehe, may-be you were asleep during your history courses though, because of staying too much in front of your TV, seems you repeat your Fox talk shows

actually, if you look at the photos of the period, your broads through themselves at the GI’s. Sometime’s, we even through them a couple of bucks.

Oh yeah, in America, we don’t have socialists looking at everything we write.

    Freedom? duh.

France, honestly, don’t you even care about your own country, heritage, continent?

    Where is your pride?

you really don’t see a danger in france being invaded like this? You don’t worry about Islam overtaking france in a generation or 2, honestly?

  56. France the retour

yes, I do, and I certainly do not want that a person like you would look after us

France, you’ll never learn then that you need a little barbarism as a part of you to defend you. You’ve lost that.

I will miss France and the rest of Europe.

How will you accept Eurabia, or will you escape before it happens?
