Ahmadinejad: “US Must Accept Defeat In Iraq, Israel Cannot Continue Its Life”
Agencies:
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday rejected the congressional testimony of the top U.S. officials in Iraq accusing Iran of interfering in its war-torn neighbor.
He also said the Islamic Republic could help in Iraq if the U.S. and British governments stopped alleging it is fighting a proxy war there by arming Shiite Muslim militias accused of attacking coalition forces and Sunni Arabs.
He said Iran’s help is needed and urged Washington to accept it failed in Iraq. “If you bring 10 times more forces you still cannot succeed there. Victory does not await the US in Iraq,” he said.
“And there are some claims that may seem very funny and ridiculous. Those who have lots of weaponry and warfare and thousands of soldiers — if they are defeated, they blame others. There is no way to escape for peace.”
Iranians do not believe in war and consider it a “last resort,” he said.
However, his hard-line rhetoric resurfaced when Ahmadinejad said Israel “cannot continue its life.”
“Israel is an invader and is cruel, and it hasn’t got a united public. All other nations are against it,” he said. “We do not recognize them. They are attackers and illegal.”
The Islamic republic could help improve conditions in Iraq, but first coalition forces must leave, he said.
“We can help solve many problems in Iraq. We can help secure Iraq. We can help the attackers leave Iraq if the American government and British government correct themselves.” he said.
Ahmadinejad has said in the past that Tehran would fill any power vacuum left by a withdrawal of coalition forces in Iraq.
The United States has cited the Iranian president’s remarks as a reason to continue its efforts in Iraq.
As for allegations that Tehran is pursuing a nuclear weapon, Ahmadinejad said he resents the notion that Iran “has to obey whatever was put to us” and asked why there is no similar furor over American and British nuclear programs.
“Our bombs are dangerous, but American bombs are not dangerous?” he asked.
When the ITN interviewer asked if he could tour the Natanz nuclear facility in Iran, Ahmadinejad chuckled and asked him if he thought the United States or Britain would allow Iran to inspect their nuclear facilities.
“We do not need a bomb. We are against bombs, actually. There are many reasons we are against it,” he said. “From a political point of view, it’s not useful, we think.”
The United Nations Security Council has so far imposed two rounds of limited sanctions against Iran for the country’s refusal to suspend its uranium enrichment program.
Tehran has insisted the program is meant for peaceful energy production.
I guess he’s telling us to just lay down on the ground so we can Stab you in the fucking head.
Okay, That will work.
September 12th, 2007 at 11:44 pmI actually saw that 10 minutes of the most painful TV ever on
British “news” channel ITV. I wonder if anybody at ITV asked
why Almond Dinner Jab awarded the interview to them. Lately they
have moved the farthest to the left and the most stridently
anti-war on terror of the three main UK broadcasters.
But boy was it painful to watch. The Jab looked like he was
on drugs, or insane, or both, with half closed eyelids and watery eyes
and a stupid smirk that never left his face.
ITV’s interviewer, Julian Manning, just didn’t get it at all.
He tried to ask “probing questions” about Iran’s nuclear program
but The Jab just laughed or talked past him. When Manning
asked “are you afraid that the US will attack you?”, The Jab
returned the question and asked Manning whether or not he thought
the USA would attack. He seemed like he was actually looking for
information and that Manning might know something.
After ten minutes of agony television, The Jab said that it wasn’t
really an interview at all, just words being thrown about.
As the camera cut, the last thing I saw was the ITV guy
with a very stupid look on his face.
Was there any use to this? Very little, except maybe The Jab
September 13th, 2007 at 1:10 amreally is crazy.
How history seems to repeats itself again and again. Now the new Fascists 4th Reich has risen and the world again will not do anything about it. I fear that soon as Iran makes enough Nuclear Weapons we will be in WWIII! And even if we do attack Iran from the air I doubt that the U.S. can destroy all of the nuclear fission materials! You can win the a war by air power alone. Battle of Britain and the bombing of Germany cities prove that! If we are going to attack Iran it must be combined Air, Naval, and ground operations.
September 13th, 2007 at 5:40 amWe’re already in WWIII. These are only the opening battles.
Bear in mind that everytime Ahmedthedick runs his big mouth about the US or Israel, that what he says about the US and Israel, is a Freudian sleight of the tongue…because he’s really talking about himself and the rest of his apostate murderers.
The choice is clear, either we defeat this punk or he defeats us. I don’t look good in a beard, and my wife wouldn’t look good in a burqua. We look much better with
September 13th, 2007 at 7:09 ama shotgun and an M-16. Know what I mean Vern?
The dark cloud Iran has cast over the world reminds me of 1939. Here you have a leader of a nartion that is militarizing, openly stating that he plans on destroying israel and killing americans wherever he can.
September 13th, 2007 at 8:23 amAnd of course, just like in 1939, the Europeans are doing nothing about except “diplomacy.”
You can win the a war by air power alone….. CRAP I AM FALLING A SLEEP AGAIN! SORRY for the typo error it show have said:And even if we do attack Iran from the air I doubt that the U.S. can destroy all of the nuclear fission materials! You CANNOT win the a war by air power alone. Battle of Britain and the bombing of Germany cities prove that! If we are going to attack Iran it must be combined Air, Naval, and ground operations…Sorry

I HOPE you are wrong, we have come a looonnnggg way in targeting in the last 60 years. It also depends on the goal. If we can destroy the police state’s ability to suppress its people, they might rise, something the Brits were not going to do. After Iraq, I don’t know if it is smart to commit ground forces in a Muslim country…
September 13th, 2007 at 12:07 pmDan, you are right in everything except this: it’s World War IV…
