Defiant MoveOn Moves On With More Betrayal Ads
Storyboard for new Moveon.Org ad here.
USA Today:
Latest one targets Senate Republicans
Showing no signs of letting up in its campaign alleging that the nation has been “betrayed” by those who support President Bush’s policies in Iraq, MoveOn.org Political Action today takes aim at Senate Republicans.
A new “Betrayal of Trust” TV ad targets Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and other Republican senators for voting “against a plan that would give our soldiers reasonable time to spend with their families before having to return to war.”
MoveOn says it will spend $100,000 to broadcast the ad in Kentucky and nationally on CNN. The liberal group hasn’t yet put the ad on YouTube. We’re planning to post it here once they do.
MoveOn’s original ad in this series — a New York Times full-pager wondering whether Gen. David Petraeus should be called “General Betray Us” — set off a controversy that continues to rage and has spurred Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani’s campaign to run an ad in response.
Update at 11:25 a.m. ET. Bush condemns’ MoveOn’s ad and Democrats’ reactions:
Asked at a press conference this morning about the “General Betray Us” and, President Bush was harsh about both MoveOn and Democratic leaders.
The ad, he said, “was disgusting. It was an attack not only on Gen. Petraeus but on the U.S. military. … I was disappointed that not more leaders in the Democratic Party spoke out more strongly against that kind of ad.” The president’s conclusion: “Most Democrats are afraid of irritating a left-wing group — or are more afraid of irritating them — then they are of irritating the U.S. military. That was a sorry deal. … It’s one thing to attack me, but another to attack somebody like Gen. Petraeus.”
love it, they are out in the light and have removed the mask

September 20th, 2007 at 12:09 pmThe President’s comment “It’s one thing to attack me, but another to attack somebody like Gen. Petraeus.” goes to show why the Marines and other men and women in uniform hold their salutes for him longer than ever was done for Clinton. Because he is willing to take the heat, and keep it off them, because he respects them. The gals and guys in uniform know this, and respect even more for it.
The dems have no honor or respect, and Clinton’s honor guards probably showered nightly with Brillo pads and scouring powder after having to be in his vicinity…
September 20th, 2007 at 12:20 pmMoveOn response: “The hole’s getting deeper. Dig harder!”
Duh.
September 20th, 2007 at 12:22 pmDefiant Moveon.org, they are laughable. They have enough rope now, they will be hanging themselves.
September 20th, 2007 at 12:35 pmI smell blood…and fear. These MoveOn types are in a corner and are almost rabid in their attempt to fight their way back into the open. To attack one’s opposition and their political policy as a matter of betrayal is a door which swings both ways. The door is definitely coming back to smash them in the face…let’s just hope it knocks out the last couple teeth from the Dumbocratic mouth.
September 20th, 2007 at 12:56 pm“… let’s just hope it knocks out the last couple teeth from the Dumbocratic mouth.”
Even when it does it won’t shut them up. They’re like 8 year olds that aren’t getting their way in a toy store… banging their own heads on the floor till it bleeds is next.
September 20th, 2007 at 1:08 pmGo ahead Moveon.dickhead, keep digging your hole deeper. The choice has never been so clearer in American politics. Ya wanna vote for a traitor (Any of the Dhimi candidates) or a patriot(any Republican candidate but that neo-conartist Rhue Paul). We’ll see come 2008. I’m betting moveon.dick queers any chances the Dhimis had.

September 20th, 2007 at 2:00 pmSo let me get this straight…
In the eyes of MoveOn.org and its sycophants, the fact the surge is working and our troops are kicking AQ ass is a betrayal to the United States and her people?
A betrayal to the pinko commie defunct academics who flock toward this drivel and worship at the all knowing wuss-bag temple of MOve On.org, but as all of us know in Dollard world that this surge is a good thing…it is helping keep us free even as I type this.
This add (and the ones before it starring Gen. P) are just one more example of pure and unadulterated BS, and borders on the verge of Treason…
And if you can not guarantee a conviction on treason, how about sedition? Any lawyers out there?
Seriously this group pisses me off to no end…can someone in their ranks even equate the asinine logic that spews out of their propaganda HQ influences Al-Qaeda and they parrot these leftists talking points to the detriment of us all.
This is truly a sad sigh…to see a group of Americans advocating surrender, (and ipso facto AQs win) to destroy their own rights, which were enabled by the same rights they are so quick to destroy…
They make me sick, and these ass-clowns have no concept of what horrors sharia entails for their way of life…
September 20th, 2007 at 2:12 pmI look at it this way. Moveon.org is no better then any terrorist organization hell bent to destroy American. They are blackmailing the Democratic party and anyone else that does not support their views. MUCH in the same way Al Qaeda and EVERY other radical Islam group has hijacked true Islam. In other words I feel moveon.org should be put on the DOMESTIC terrorists organization list. Funding to such groups should be BANNED and considered ILLEGAL.
September 20th, 2007 at 2:37 pmHillary Clinton Is Bought And Paid For By Moveon.org
Senate votes to condemn MoveOn, Clinton votes NO!
“Senators Clinton and Obama need to decide whether they’re running for America, or running for MoveOn.org,” he said. “If Clinton and Obama cannot bring themselves to take a stand against a vicious attack on the man leading our forces in Iraq, why should American voters believe they are capable of demonstrating the leadership we need in a Commander in Chief?”

September 20th, 2007 at 3:03 pmPeace!
Dan2
We have so much ammo for the presidential race next year that it may be a landslide for conservatives. I can see the House, Senate and Presidency all in Republican hands again. And if they keep spending like democRats, they’ll get kicked out again.
BowelMovement.org and their puppets in the media always complain when someone impugns their “patriotism” but they have no problem doing what they decry. Of course, we all know what REAL patriotism is and the left has no clue. Their god is socialism and mother earth. As Rush likes to say,”All the commies are now in the environmental movement.”
September 20th, 2007 at 3:18 pmStill trying to destroy America from within using higher taxes and government control over individual liberty.
Jarhead68: Rush is right….
September 20th, 2007 at 5:05 pmThis is great! When you have a losing ad; keep using it! These guys are just doing whatever George Soros tells them to do… like the good little Marxists they are.
September 20th, 2007 at 7:35 pmIf the stupid Democrats don’t dump MoveOn.org it will cost them the Presidential election and quite possibly imploding the Democrat Political Party to a minor party lower then Green Peace!
September 20th, 2007 at 8:27 pmAlways remember: moveon is George Soros, billionaire financier to whom all dems kowtow because he want/need his $$. They are deathly afraid of losing that deep pocket.
September 21st, 2007 at 10:22 amCorrection: “they” want/need his $$. We know what they are, we are just negotiating the price now.
