Some chick walked into Boston’s Logan Airport this morning with a big-ass fake bomb strapped to her chest. MIT student.
BOSTON (MSNBC) - A woman who walked into Logan International Airport allegedly wearing a large fake bomb strapped to chest was arrested at gunpoint Friday, officials said.
Star Simpson, 19, had a computer circuit board, wiring and a putty that later turned out to be Play-Doh in plain view over a black hooded sweatshirt she was wearing, said State Police Maj. Scott Pare, the commanding officer at the airport.
After a Massachusetts Port Authority official notified State Police about 8 a.m., troopers tracked Simpson down outside Terminal C, where they arrested her and later determined the device was a fake.
“She’s extremely lucky she followed the instructions or deadly force would have been used,” Pare told The Associated Press. “And she’s lucky to be in a cell as opposed to the morgue.”
Simpson is a Massachusetts Institute of Technology sophomore from Hawaii, officials said.

I am beginning to wonder, just how smart college kids are toady. I live one block from an university and the kids scramble to find parking places for the first month or so… so every morning my block is pretty much full.
What are you going to do, other than live with it…right.
Anyway,
Four times already this year some kid has left his car parked all day in front of my house with at least 1.5 feet of bumper into the ‘driveway part’. Now this can be a problem. (not talking an inch or two)
You would think, if you were smart enough to go to an university…you would be smart enough not to hang your cars bumper in someone else’s driveway for 5-8 hours a day.
Maybe I am just getting old…LOL

I dunno about y’all, but that looks very little like a bomb and a LOT like a standard breadboard (open, customizable circuit board) with LEDs and a battery to light it up.
Unwise to wear this to an airport? Yes.
Looks like a bomb from any distance? No.
If there’s any indication she meant it to represent a bomb, then yea, lock her away.
If there’s not, give her a reprimand, and a requirement to show awareness and tact within the next week or she’ll be… something’d.
I know that in our current world, the police must err on the side of caution especially in airports and areas with lots of people, but geez, i’d have spotted that and walked up to her, told her she was causing some people unease with the getup, because there’s no way that could have been a bomb.
