My own personal beliefs with regard to the Biblical citings are along the same lines. Jesus’ teachings regarding compassion, mercy, turning the other cheek, etc…IMHO, were meant for people’s personal living/lifestyles, not governments.

Also. my own beliefs again, but your examples from the OT, like citing Moses actions/reactions, and learning from them, are spot on…to paraphrase, “All scripture is meant for our learning…” and I would say that ALL means ALL and not just NT, LOL. Biblical principles embodied in the greats like Moses are most certainly to be admired and emulated.

Personal virtues in Biblical people, OT or NT, are eternal, and cross the lines of religion and time, extending to all humanity as an example of how the fuck to act and live. (Note the purposeful non-religious vernacular to avoid worthless outward piety).

Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, forgive those who trespass against you, and do NOT TOLERATE EVIL in any form…that includes, but is not limited to, radical jihadis.

Our military and our police are the protectors of our society and our freedom. I know the Bible very well and nowhere does God call us to be patsies. If we die for our faith the way Christians die all the time in China and other communist and Muslim countries that is the exact definition of being martyred. That’s a different situation than protecting our freedom and protecting my home. I own lots of guns and neither my wife or I would hesitate in using one to protect ourselves or our kids or some other person.

To do otherwise is a dereliction of my role and responsibility.

At the site where I take a great deal of abuse for supporting our President, the war, the troops, and their mission - I have been put down and religiously attacked as a counterfeit Christian and that I am nothing but pure Evil. One individual had the audacity to try to do an online Exorcism on me. It showed me that there is just no talking to some types of people. I refuse to leave the site however as there are many veterans there and other patriots that are trying to get the truth out to a group of people that have almost no idea the type of enemy our leaders and military are fighting. Their blinders are on tight and they cannot and refuse to see the big picture.

What an amazing way of putting what we’re all thinking into words Kelly. And using biblical references was a perfect way to go too. what a better way to prove that being a christian doesnt mean being weak. Turning the other cheek no longer applies when you face the possibility of losing your whole head in the process.
