Baghdad, Sept 18, (VOI) - Deputy Foreign Ministry for Political Planning and Bilateral Relations Labied Abawi said on Tuesday that the Iraqi government is preparing to host a new round of talks between U.S. and Iranian officials.

“The date of the meeting has not yet been fixed and the Iraqi government is holding continued talks with the two sides set to host the meeting,” Abawi told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).

“Such talks and negotiations require plenty of time as there are several issues that need to be discussed,” he added.

“The Iraqi government is satisfied as both sides voiced readiness to meet again in Baghdad and hold talks on Iraq, which will inevitably affect the security and stability in Iraq,” the Iraqi official explained.

“This will be the fourth of its kind between the U.S. and Iranian officials. The last meeting was on August 6, 2007, at the Iraqi government’s headquarters in the fortified green zone in central Baghdad.

The first U.S.-Iranian meeting was held on May 28, 2007.

this is bullshit!! when does the talking stop and the shooting begin? they have been killing our troops for quite a while now and yes we are killing them when we find them but we need to send them a very strong message. sending arms to Afghanistan and arms and fighters into Iraq, the shit has to stop

This is called “exhausting diplomatic efforts.” We always have to talk to them before the ass-whipping begins. Like who in the hell would believe a word the Iranian bastards have to say about “stabilizing” the region. They are the ones who have been stirring up the shit.

All the talks will come to naught. The Iranians think they are going to slip out of their self imposed problems by talking in circles (again). Bush is going to solve the nuclear Iran problem before he leaves office. What would look bad is if the US said, “no, we won’t talk anymore”. We tried to use the diplomatic route but the Iranians wouldn’t back down will be the news after the talks are completed.

What a waste of time. The Iranians have already told us what their agenda is: Death to Israel, and Death to America.

That is not a political slogan of the Dhimocrats, that is the stated foreign policy of Iran. Get your head out of your asses State Department.

Iran is going to try an offer up some sorta negotiation concerning the nuc’s, but it will be a gesture that will only cause more debate. Time is what their looking for so if they create more debate in the media and amongst the unified countries their goal of a smoke screen will be met.

Remember any pretense on their part is “Koran legit” amongst the infedels. They cannot be trusted period. Prepare and expect deception

I agree with the talking if the message is get out of Iraq or bombing begins in five minutes.

The talks better go something like this:

“You fuckers have three days to cease all terrorist activities or we WILL blow your whole goddamn country to smithereens.”

    One can only dream…

yeah yeah i understand exhausting diplomatic efforts and totally agree with it because it lets the world know that we tried other options first. But come on, they are actively killing US service personell in Iraq sometimes on a daily basis, really hard telling how many in total. Its time to let the shit fly and let them see how America escalates when the situation calls for it. We have the moral high ground on this and no dumbass Dhimocrat can convince me otherwise
