Drop a tab and have at it:
AHMADINEJAD (THROUGH TRANSLATOR): Oh, God, hasten the arrival of Imam al-Mahdi and grant him good health and victory and make us his followers and those to attest to his rightfulness……I am grateful to the almighty God for providing me with the opportunity to be in an academic environment, those seeking truth and striving for the promotion of science and knowledge.

Fuck him, and his speech.
September 24th, 2007 at 6:18 pmBlatant dodging of questions. I see I didn’t miss much - I got on about five minutes into the speech.

September 24th, 2007 at 8:37 pmHell, I say we invite him to speak at our local gun club. See if he really has the balls. He won’t speak long, nor will it mean much, but hey, it’s worth a shot. Or two….
September 25th, 2007 at 4:26 amNot the opening line of the speech: “Oh, God, hasten the arrival of Imam al-Mahdi and grant him good health and victory and make us his followers and those to attest to his rightfulness……”
The most critical line in the speech and the most critical word is the word “hasten”. If you know nothing more about the sect of the Shia religion that Ahmadinejad believes, know this; The Imam al Mahdi - or the “hidden” Imam - is believed to walk the earth unknown to his followers who are fanatical about his reappearance. It is believed that Imam al-Madhdi will ONLY show himself to his believers and the rest of the world at the time of the apocalypse. Now you know the real reason behind the frantic push for the nukes.
