Malkin On The Defacing Of The Vietnam Veterans Memorial
From my all time favorite conservative pundit, author, talk show host, brawler, and rabble rouser, Michelle Malkin:
“Over the weekend, something happened here at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC. Something destructive. Something dishonorable. Along the foot of the wall, covering a stretch almost two-thirds of the entire monument, an oily substance was spilled on the panels and paving stones that were built to pay tribute to those who gave their lives on the battlefield.
The National Park Service is investigating. Whatever the substance was, it was potent and corrosive. Huge swaths of the wall have been defaced. This is despicable desecration.”

Why didn’t they do it while everyone was in the monument on a Saturday during the afternoon? Why not in front of some vets? Could it be they lack the balls it takes to stand by their ’cause’? Could it be that they understand that what they did is insidious and they accept being passive/aggressinve pussies?

Kurt(the infidel) is right–it is going the wrong direction, and it won’t be reversed with people who really care staying quiet much longer. Daily Kos ran a string prior to 10Sep about GOE organizing to protect The Wall after the Cap. steps were vandalized with spray paint. Code Skank more recently vandalized the Navy Memorial. Kos and commenters went on to speculate (some other leftard blogs as well) that it’s a Nixon-Watergate style conspiracy so that everyone can blame the leftards for what happened.
A second Civil War. Absolutely, but how would it come about. I’ve thought pretty hard about it because it’d make a good book if one could make it plausible. But how does one get there? Certainly our side has a majority of the guns, the will to fight, and absolutely all of the courage. But in referencing Steve in NC about bondage, I consider this…
One of “them” will destroy and deface an American flag in front of you as a “political statement” in effect only to piss you off. They don’t face retribution because they “think” it is freedom of speech. What about my oath? What about your patriotism? If one is free to “express” themselves in such a fashion, wouldn’t “I” be free to politically express myself and retrieve the flag from desecration?
I am willing to go to jail for it. I am willing to be hurt for it, and be damned the the fact I’m professional military.
Men on both sides, Yankee and Confederate died for their flags, in essence: their flag, their country, their family, their regiment, and their comrades in arms–rescuing it from touching the ground or from being captured by the enemy.
(disclaimer-please spare me the PC of what the Confederate flag represents in today’s society…Johnny Reb, a poor hayseed from Mississippi didn’t fight to own a person)
Thankfully I haven’t been around a situation where they are disgracing the flag. Should I be, I imagine myself saying, “You’re disrespecting my flag, surrender it, or I’ll take it by force.”
We know the outcome. I eat red meat, am corn&milk nourished, and blessed with a Cajun mean-streak fueled with anger for their ensuring failure in Vietnam, thus belittling the sacrifices made in Southeast Asia…and I lift on occasion. Nope…they can’t win on Che’ and veggies.
If it were to ever happen, and I’m successful, I hope somebody gets a picture, and the right story…because that’s they kind of symbolism people need to see, someone defending Her, for once, from those great-less bastards.
Gosh-damn though…not The Wall.
