Baghdad, Sept 16, (VOI) – The Daawa Party-Iraq Organization may withdraw from the Shiite Unified Iraqi Coalition (UIC) if efforts to heal the rift within the Shiite alliance fail, the leader of the party, Abdul Kareem al-Anzy, said on Sunday.

The decision comes less than 24 hours after the defection of the Sadrist bloc from the UIC, the largest parliamentary bloc in the Iraqi parliament.

In statements to the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI), al-Anzi said that his party, which holds 13 seats in the 275-member parliament, will make every effort to “mend the rift within the coalition.”

“If our attempts prove unsuccessful, we will seriously consider forming an alliance with the Sadr movement, al-Fadila Party, and others,” al-Anzi added.

Al-Anzi held Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki responsible for the subsequent withdrawal of the coalition’s components, claiming that divisions have reached the Islamic Daawa party, led by al-Maliki, and described the Sadrist bloc’s defection as a “strike to the core.”

“Al-Maliki made a strategic mistake when he joined the four-way alliance without consulting his coalition,” al-Anzi noted.

The Islamic Daawa Party, the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council (SIIC), and the two main Kurdish parties formed a four-way alliance in mid-August that they said aims at backing the current Iraqi government following the withdrawal of some political blocs from the cabinet.

This sounds bad and in the short run probably will be. However the Shites splitting up is probably the only thing that can bring a united Iraq or at least a government that can work together for the National good not just X sects personal benefit 1st.

A divided Shite political outfit will be forced to think national and form alliances outside their sect to gain and hold power. These alliance will naturally bring the moderates up and even more limit the Sectarian elements.

One question thou if anyone knows. Dawa Party / Islamic Dawa party ? I have never heard that as two parties? Is it two different parties that are maybe just allied? Or is it that the Dawa party is splitting into two different parties?

SIIC the Kurds, Alawi, and some choice Sunni Awaking type parties could form a strong government if you could somehow get everyone involved.

They seriously need to put together a panel as an overview with respected members representing the middle east. This panel can hear these discretions an offer opinions and views that may help knock down these barriers of untrust

“In an Islamic context, there are exactly two kinds of regimes possible: Islamic tyrannies and non-Islamic tyrannies. Either way, force is what holds the whole thing together. And don’t talk to me about Turkey. Turkey continually oscillates between full-blown Sharia and military dictatorship. Turkey is as secular as it is thanks to Gemal’s outright repression of Islam. ”

So who is going to be the strong-man in Iraq? And will he be Shia, Sunni or Kurd?

Divide the country into three parts. Make the tribal leaders the bosses and let them appoint their own head of state for each entity.

Maliki is a pimple on the ass of Iraq. If the MP’s succeede in deposing him…then good… But who fills the vacuum? And who then can be the Islamic strong-man that can keep this country in one piece seeing as how Maliki doen’t trust the tribal leaders?
