Karbala, Oct 21, VOI – Iraq Awakening Conference called on individuals who were forced to leave their homes in the Sunni province of Anbar to return to their original place of residence, a senior official from the conference said on Sunday.

“Sheikh Ahmed Bazee Abu Risha, the head of conference, called on all internally displaced persons from Anbar to return to their homes,” Sheikh Alaa al-Tamimi told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).

“The call comes one day after an official and tribal delegation from Karbala visited the Sunni province,” he indicated.

“The situation in Anbar is now stable after terrorists have been expelled,” al-Tamimi explained, adding that Sheikh Abu Risha vowed to provide protection for all returnees.

“The returnees will be compensated for their lost property and those who do not want to return to their homes will be granted pieces of land.”

“Those who have the desire to return should contact the offices of the Central and Southern Euphrates Awakening Conference to provide their names,” he added.
