All for a conference she hasn’t even been able to put together yet, and which may never happen, in part because her boss is said to be cooling on the whole idea.

J-Post:

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has sought the advice of former US presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton ahead of a planned Middle East peace parley scheduled to take place in Annapolis, Maryland, in November or December.

State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said Saturday that Rice met with Carter this week. The two reportedly discussed the peace talks Carter brokered between Israel and Egypt in the late 1970s. The White House called the meeting with Carter positive and “to the point.”

Rice has also spoken with Clinton, who led the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians in the 1990s. “[Secretary of State] Rice is trying to learn from others what can be done and how their experience can be adapted to today’s situation,” McCormack said, adding that Rice placed great emphasis on “learning from the past.”

The State Department also reported that Rice has recently conferred with former UN Middle East envoy Dennis Ross, as well as her predecessors James Baker, Henry Kissinger, and Madeline Albright.

Rice has stated that she intends to devote the rest of the 14 months remaining in her term to establishing an independent Palestinian state while ensuring Israel’s security.

    Has Condi lost her mind?!
Why would she invite the 2 worst “peace negotiators” regarding Israel that have ever lived (except for Arafat)?!
There are only 2 reasons I can think of:
    A. Some Jews (and lots of Paleos) love these 2 asshats.
    B. It will decrease the whining from the Left that they weren’t “included.”
    Mistake, though.
If the Israelis are smart, they’ll call in sick for this whole conference because it will be the truth!
Fie on Condi (whom I used to like).

clinton tried to get a diplomatic peace with pallystiens and the Isreal before he left office too

that worked out well didn’t it?

Love the Condi, but the great nobel peace prize winning yazsir areyafat showed the value of negotiations with terrorists

give it up, build the wall, and shut off the power

  3. Future0311 (the infidel)

Gee. Choose the worst people to go to for advice, why don’t you…

    Especially Carter!

  4. Jim

Well that should take all of about 4 and a half minutes, hope she can stay awake.

  5. 0311inOhi

WTF? Why the fuck dosen’t she ask ME for advise? There has got to be something in the Washington DC water.

Condi getting advice from Jimmy and Bill? That’s like getting parenting advice from Birttney Spear’s mom. What? She’s writing a book on parenting? Oh shit!

  7. Dan (The Infidel)

Condi baby, as far as the Israel-Arab issue is concerned, you are a fool on a fool’s errand. So why bother talking to other fools?

  8. Fight4TheRight

Somewhere along the way Condi Rice’s talons were surgically removed and replaced with cotton balls.

I’m sure Carter’s advice will be to wipe Israel off the map and give the Palestinians the American easter seaboard.

And as for Clinton…his advice for Condi would probably be a seaside cottage in Maine, a bottle of champagne and a box of trojans.

  9. Fight4TheRight

shoulda been eastern seaboard, sorry bout that

“Rice has stated that she intends to devote the rest of the 14 months remaining in her term to establishing an independent Palestinian state while ensuring Israel’s security.”

No way that can happen. The two are mutually exclusive to the max.
The only ‘people’ that seem to know this are the Ba’alestinians.

  11. Goodbye Natalie

Condi Rice is an intelligent woman and a wonderful pianist but as Sec. of State she’s a disaster and an accident waiting to happen. Her wisdom must fall in the negative category.

And asking Dhimmi Carter advice on Middle Eastern policy is the equivalent of asking the design engineers at Chernobyl how to build a nuclear reactor.

Is this some kind of joke?

  12. Mr. Standfast

Bad aquisition. Carter is a loser. Condi’s stock price just fell. I might start shorting it. Maybe see a dead cat bounce, but she’s on here way out. Too bad. I had such great expectations for her.

  13. dad 3/7

she will listen to what the idiots have to say and talk to madam dumbbrite tooo.. then do the opposite,,

  14. Lamplighter

Condi has to have some legacy. She should spend her time more wisely on “solving” the Iranian nuclear problem.

  15. cnchess

This is how she learns what not to do…

  16. Bob

When will we learn that these islamonazis are never going to negotiate in good faith! The good majority of decent muslims are being held hostage by murderous iranian surrogates!

  17. NickD

I agree, cnchess - whatever Clinton and Carter say she should do, do the exact opposite. You can’t go wrong.
