Russia: Attacking Iran Is Attacking Us
From Iran’s Press TV:
Iran and Russia have agreed on plans to quash Washington’s relentless drive towards launching an attack on Iran.
Discussions took place during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent visit to Tehran, according to the Asia Times.
Putin held a face-to-face meeting with Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, where the agreement was finalized.
According to a high-level diplomatic source in Tehran, the Supreme Leader and the Russian president essentially agreed that an American attack on Iran would be viewed by Moscow as an attack on Russia.
The two states are officially united in a strategic partnership, in which World War III is definitely not on the cards.
US Vice President, Dick Cheney, who is notorious for elevating the war rhetoric against Iran at any given opportunity, is now facing an increasingly difficult challenge in fanning the flames of war.
The US president and top US officials, who often attempt to demonize Tehran as a threat to world peace, have themselves been threatening Iran with military force over the country’s nuclear standoff with the West.
Ha! Nice try Vladdie.
October 27th, 2007 at 2:22 pmSo what’s Putin going to do about it? Fly or transport his rusty jumk of a military to Iran and confront us? Oh please do….
October 27th, 2007 at 2:27 pmHmmmm…..OK! Let us all see just what you’ve got, Putin-head! You’re miserable country is still broke. What are you gonna do, throw rocks?
October 27th, 2007 at 2:31 pmThere’s also the possibility that Russia is going to try to screw over Iran, and just giving the Mullahs lip service. Think of all the delays that have happened, where Russians were tasked with giving them the means; the Russians know full well how to go nuclear, for many decades now. The ethnic Russians hate and resent the influx of Muslims into the country. Putin might just be behind the scenes hoping we’ll do their dirty work, as a nuclear Iran (right in their backyard) will pose a threat to them down the road too.
October 27th, 2007 at 2:34 pmI GUESS PRESIDENT BUSH DIDN’T SEE THIS IN PUTINS HEART. NEXT IS CHINA TURN IS TO COME OUT OF THE CLOSET. WE KNEW THESE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN BEHIND ALL THIS CRAP FROM DAY ONE.NOW LETS HIT IRAN WITH EVERYTHING WE GOT AND STARE PUTIN IN THE FACE AND SAY” YOUR MOVE ASSHOLE”. PUTIN WHAT A PAPER TIGER
October 27th, 2007 at 2:41 pmUntil I hear this from a Russian source I’m not going to believe it. The “story” comes from a comment in an Asia Times article and the phrase “attacking Iran is the same as attacking Russia” is made by the article’s author - NOT by Putin. Now the Iranians have picked up on it, as of course they would.
I’d love to see Putin pressed on this quote and see if he toes Tehran’s line or finds a way out of it. Either way, it shouldn’t stop us from scattering Iran’s newly-enriched uranium all over their damn country in the form of a fine mist.
October 27th, 2007 at 3:01 pmI noticed this came from the Iranian Press…i highly doubt this has any veracity…
October 27th, 2007 at 3:01 pmAn obvious signal to me is that we told Russia we were not going to attack….So Putin is using that, and he knows Cheney doesn’t care what he says … Though we are going to financially ruin Iran.
October 27th, 2007 at 3:24 pmIt does not mean we won’t attack the qud or military bases
October 27th, 2007 at 3:25 pmthat picture cracked me up. three of the biggest egos in one room and they dont know what to do with each other.
October 27th, 2007 at 3:53 pmDid’nt the Muhajedin(sp) kick the Ruskies asses in Afganistan? Even if this statement is true, which I doubt, the soviets could do almost nothing to stop us. They simply don’t have it in them.
October 27th, 2007 at 4:01 pmActually, the picture remindes me of the scene in Animal House when Doug Neidermeyer introduces Pinto and Flounder to the “undesireable candidates” hanging out at the Omega House’s rush party. Sidney, Mohmad, and Jud Dish.
October 27th, 2007 at 4:17 pmDoes anyone else think it’s interesting/ironic that “Quds” is the Arabic name for “Jersusalem?” Iran doesn’t speak Arabic, they speak Farsi, but it’s interesting none-the-less.
In all seriousness, though, I think Iran/Russia’s first response to an American attack would be to strike Israel, not us. For that reason alone I think it’s probably a bad idea to hit them right now and bomb them back to the 12th century.
and yes the Mujahadin did kick the Russian’s out of Afghanistan, but not without serious help from the CIA. We armed the Mujahadin, trained them, and played watchkeeper while they did to the Russians what the insurgents are doing to us right now, except on a MUCH larger scale and with much greater success (they actually won). Unfortunately, 20 years later, things change, allies change, politics change, and those weapons would fall into the hands of some saudi ex-patriate named Osama bin-Ladin.
October 27th, 2007 at 4:29 pmIsrael and the Us should fund checneyan Rebels and other people living in the caucus just like they do to Israel with the Israeli arabs
October 27th, 2007 at 4:40 pmIm not buying this story..no way in hell would Russia be dumb enough to align themselves with Iran to take the US on. No way in hell. They have seen over the years what we are made of, our military technology is rivaled by none. The American fighting men and women are rivaled by none and are all battle hardened at this point. Good luck Konrade if this is serious
October 27th, 2007 at 5:09 pm@Jew pig
Hey you mean like the MEK
October 27th, 2007 at 5:22 pmAs I always knew putin is scum! In fact most russians are corrupt, ignorant drunkards who are lucky if they live to 60! Come to think of it isn’t putin very close to russian life expediency now!
October 27th, 2007 at 5:23 pmJew pig:
Only a Muslim Islamofacist or an anti-semite would refer to a jew as a “pig”. Are you any of those? If you really are Jewish, then why don’t you chsnge your name to something cool like Shoresh or Aliya?
Jack:
Al Quds means “the holy” it is indeed the Arabic name for Jerusalem. I find it ironic that the shia would name a unit after Jerusalem when only 25% of the Islamic world speaks classical Arabic, and the word “Jerusalem” appears nowhere in the Koran.
And as far as Israel being a target of the Iranian government, what’s new about that? The Hizzies have been attacking the IDF at home and abroad since the 1979 Iranian revolution.
Since the Iraniac leadership has already sworn to wipe Israel off the map, is the west suppose to sit by idly while the Iraniacs get the means to carry out their threat?
I don’t think so.And Russia is in no position to fight the US one-on-one. They got their hands full in Ingushia, Chechnia and the other restive Muslim populations surrounding them. Russia has neither the arms, material or military stength to do anything but watch the Iranian nuclear facilities go up in flames.
And Israel is already surrounded by Iranian and Syrian allied enemies. They’re ready for Iran or Syria or any of their proxy irhabis that want to restart last years war…or just start a new one.
October 27th, 2007 at 5:27 pmWhat does Putin plan to do for weapons, the arms dealers sold them all years ago. Oh I know, he’s going to yell and pound his shoe on the table.
October 27th, 2007 at 6:01 pmEzekial 38:15
“You will come from your place out of the remote parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great assembly and a mighty army; and you will come against My people Israel like a cloud to cover the land…”
Ezekial 39:3-4
“I will strike your bow from your left hand and dash down your arrows from your right hand. You will fall on the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you; I will give you as food to every kind of predatory bird and beast of the field.”
Ezekial 39:6
“And I will set fire upon Magog and those who inhabit the coastlands in safety; and they will know that I am the Lord.”
Ezekial 39:9
“Then those who inhabit the cities of Israel will go out and make fires with the weapons and burn them, both shields and bucklers, bows and arrows, war clubs and spears, and for seven years they will make fires of them.”
Ezekial 39:28
“Then they will know that I am the Lord their God because I made them go into exile among the nations, and then gathered them again to their own land; and I will leave none of them there any longer. I will not hide My face from them any longer, for I will have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,” declares the Lord God.
October 27th, 2007 at 6:30 pmThe bottom line is we are not going to bomb Iran per say…just the mollah’s

October 27th, 2007 at 6:49 pmPutin bluffed ; the mollahs have more than a trick in their basket ; Putin only managed to get an alliance with the neighbour countries of Iran : no way that these countries would let another foreign army cross them or use their aerian space (ex US army)

October 28th, 2007 at 9:40 am“Considering the growing number of the clans, there will be soon, a clan by anybody quoted: it is much of blah blah, nothing new to say. This title of “the Figaro” is meaningless because the author Delphine Minoui and the experts as it is obvious avoid the name of Rafsandjani, the most powerful man of the role, as well by his constitutional capacities as by his personal network or clan. Minoui also often quotes Khatami, the moderate one, but forgets to specify us with what a clan it belongs!…” Iran resist

Quickly tensions burst with this last and, in 1981, the organization of Moudjahidines is issued outlaw by the Islamic Republic.”
