Brig. General Injured By IED
Thoughts and prayers to him and his family. ~Bash
Pentagon officials confirmed to FOX News that Brigadier Gen. Jeffrey J. Dorko, commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Gulf Region Division in Baghdad, was one of two soldiers wounded Monday by an improvised explosive device (IED) in northern Baghdad.
Military officials said Dorko suffered shrapnel wounds and was flown to Landstuhl Army Hospital in Germany for treatment. His wounds were described as non-life threatening.
The other soldier was treated and released.
Dorko was traveling Monday morning with a private security team belonging to Erinys International when the attack occurred in northern Baghdad.
The big question in my mind is, did the IED come from Iran? If so, what then?

Hope Dorko is OK.
October 29th, 2007 at 1:00 pmThat’s a helluva way for a general to get combat experience. But mark my words, when he walks down the halls of the Pentagon with his red badge of courage, the desk jockeys will be jealous as shit and knocking themselves over to kiss his ass. And his name just shot to the front of the Major general promotable list.
Speedy recovery general.
October 29th, 2007 at 2:54 pmQ- Mech, I think if the IED came from Iran (EFPs) the General wouldnt have survived. Get well soon Sir.
October 29th, 2007 at 3:11 pmHope he recovers alright. Thoughts and prayers for General Dorko and his family.
October 29th, 2007 at 5:10 pmI agree with Cpl select Jim, but more importantly, there are Americans dead today because of Iranian supplied EFP’s, ammunition, RPG’s, Kalashnikov’s, training, funding, etc. I don’t see how injuring a general officer is any more worthy of retaliation than intentionally injuring and killing a PFC. There are people in the Iranian leadership who need to be killed as a simple matter of justice, regardless of geopolitical ramifications. And then we can start killing the rest of the Islamic supremacists who target Americans. It is our solemn duty.
October 29th, 2007 at 5:13 pmHe should have used Blackwater!
October 29th, 2007 at 7:41 pmCall Blackwater!
