Iranian General Warns Of Gulf Suicide Bombings

TEHERAN - A top general in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on Monday warned that the Basij militia were ready ‘if necessary’ to carry out suicide operations in the Gulf, amid rising tensions with the United States, the Fars news agency reported.
‘If necessary we will take advantage of the element of martyrdom-seeking,’ said Brigadier General Ali Fahdavi, deputy head of the Revolutionary Guards’ naval forces.
‘This spirit is prevailing now throughout the Revolutionary Guards,’ he added. The Basij militia is part of the Guards’ military apparatus.
‘They have taken an example from Shahid (martyr) Fahmideh,’ Fahdavi said, referring to 13-year-old Iranian Hossein Fahmideh who became a national hero after blowing himself up under an Iraqi tank in the 1980-1988 war.
‘The scene of the Persian Gulf and strategic Strait of Hormuz is such that even a small operation can have a big impact,’ he added.

October 29th, 2007 at 5:35 pmsuicide bombings are nothing new in regards to history. it has always been a “last stand” tactic. suicide missions date back to the earliest wars on record. from biblical times to today. the japanese started to use kamikaze when they knew they were doomed, jihadis use it because they no that they are powerless other wise, and iran is threatening it because they know that their military is impotent compared to the might of our extremely deadly military.

Though things haven’t always been easy, they keep getting better day by day, we have removed two terrorist governments. Those armies, sorry to say are really pussy armies. They can kill old men, women and children and blow themselves up. We wiped them out in Kuwait, finally got around to getting all the way to Baghdad and Kabul. They still have a ways to go before they can enter the 21st Century.
