Cops Arrest 35 For Attacks On Karbala Bases
Karbala, Oct 21, (VOI)- Police forces arrested 35 persons suspected of having launched attacks on army and police bases in the Shiite scared city of Karbala, a police source said on Sunday.
“Police forces arrested 35 persons on charges of attacking army and police bases with Katyusha rockets over the last two days,” Brigadier Raed Shawkat told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
On Saturday evening, a civilian was killed and four others were wounded when gunmen fired several Katyusha rockets onto army and police bases in Karbala city, 108 km southwest of Baghdad.
“Police forces tracked down and arrested the attackers who were hiding in orchards at Karbala outskirts to launch rockets into the city,” Brigadier Shawkat explained.
The police source also said that the detainees were now under questioning to know “the parties behind them.”
Hmm.. I think an arrest would be not appropriate here.. Something more permanent should have been used.
October 21st, 2007 at 1:29 pmOh let the Iraqi officials “question” the suspects for a while… They will soon be begging to be turned over to the US military! There is plenty of time for the permanent solution for these miscreants.
October 21st, 2007 at 5:32 pmIs it really a “scared city”? Is it fear of Allah that has it on the run? Holy JAM, Batman!
