Obama Dumps American Flag
WTF? Does he have a squirting lapel flower in the mail? Way to go! I’m sure this guy can lead this country…right to hell.
WATERLOO, Iowa — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has stopped wearing the American flag lapel pin that has become a common symbol of patriotism since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Asked about the decision Wednesday in an interview with KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the Illinois senator said he hoped to show his patriotism by explaining his ideas to citizens.
“I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest,” he said in the interview. “Instead, I’m going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testament to my patriotism.”
The television interview didn’t include an explanation for his decision or when he stopped wearing such a pin.
Campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor said Thursday that Obama didn’t plan to say more about his decision.
“I think he explained it pretty well,” Vietor said.
Obama was campaigning in Iowa Thursday, the second day of a four-day trip to the early voting state.

Oh yeah, that Obama is truly a patriot. Even more so than those in uniform!
October 4th, 2007 at 1:40 pmF–k the bitch!
October 4th, 2007 at 1:42 pmWhat an idiot. He must be trying to ingratiate himself with the “base,” since he’s 33 points behind Billary now–got to do something! And that’s the kind of “something” they respond to. Now if he threw it on the floor and stomped on it, he’d get a 10 point bump in the polls. Ha ha ha.
October 4th, 2007 at 1:42 pmWhy am I not surprised to hear this about akbar obama. Slightly OT. I just heard that Oliver North will be on Hannity & colmes this evening. Maybe this will be the night Ollie finally reaches over and slaps that beyatch.
October 4th, 2007 at 1:45 pmIt really doesn’t matter what people like us, that read web sites like this one, think. The MSM will likely give him a pass, so that he can “demonstrate his patriotism” in a more effective and fruitful manner. Whatever that means!
These people on the left are nuts - they care as much for us as we for them!
Obama? Screw ‘em!
Screw ‘em all!
October 4th, 2007 at 1:49 pmHow bass-ackwards as a nation have we become when a candidate for supreme leadership rejects his own symbol?
Someone bring back Joe McCarthy. He was right for weeding out the communists. We need him in spades!
October 4th, 2007 at 1:50 pmAs ol Red Fox would say it’s that barracuda sitting next
October 4th, 2007 at 1:52 pmto him that’s pulling his string…
Hi,
Why don’t these “liberal ~ Socialist ~ Commies”…
Just have the folks over at the Daily Kos or somewhere… design them their very own liberal ~ Socialist ~ Commie FLAG?
That way they can wear it as a lapel pin…and show off their ‘pride’& ‘patriotism’of being forward thinking ‘commie morons’
They sure do not believe in the USA and what it stands for.
Peace!

Dan 2, Great idea brother. they do need their own socialist/commie flag. They sure as hell dont support the same America i support. They want Amerika
October 4th, 2007 at 1:56 pmMy patience for these traitors grows shorter by the day.
October 4th, 2007 at 2:00 pmThat mama sitting next to Obama is one mean lookin’ m-F’er.
October 4th, 2007 at 2:03 pmIt’s stunts like this that show me more and more, we’re reaching pre-civil war status all over again.
If traditional America wins in 08, they’ll scream, whine, and tantrum like children, and file multiple lawsuits.
If neo-communists wins in 08, they will end the 1st and 2nd amendment rights, and we’ll see an explosion of militia groups. There propaganda machine (the MSM) will label them right-wing extremists, and the FBI/ATF’s main job will be to hunt them out of existence. You’ll see it on TV shows too, ala CBS ‘Cold Case’ and the hit job they did on Christianity. Also, Christianity and Christians will face the hardest trial in centuries, the trial to exist, in America.
This stunt of abandoning the US flag, abandoning US nationalism, traditionalism, is to show the neo-communists that he’s still a leftie.
People can say that it isn’t that bad, it’s ridiculous to think we’re in a pre-civil war status.
Look at the battle lines:
-Traditionalists: conservative, Christians, American nationals, free market enterprise, family values, patriots.
-Neo-Communists: took root in the 30’s, welfare, international, central planning.
-Coastal states vs. Inland states. Traditionalists mostly live in inland states (what is known as the ‘fly-over’ states. Neo-Communists live in Coastal states. California is heavily mixed. Which is why Neo-Communists are flooding the Inland States with illegals… the largest population migration since World War 2.
Sorry I got on this jag, but it’s just another sign to his leftie supporter, the international neo-Communists.
Here’s a helluva question: What will the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard do in the biggest crisis since the Civil War: Hillary Clinton President of the US trying to put down a full-fledged Traditionalist Rebellion against a clearly Neo-Communist administration, a President with full intent on usurping and overturning the Constitution of the US, something our Armed Forces are sworn to protect and defend?
October 4th, 2007 at 2:07 pmHe’d rather have the Hammer and Sickle on his lapel.
October 4th, 2007 at 2:08 pmHey Future, same here..they are traitors by the exact definition of the word, just wondering when action will be taken against them. but no we let them “lead” our country instead
October 4th, 2007 at 2:11 pmWhy am I not surprised by this? Just goes to show that America is on the downfall everyday because of acts like this. Is there a way that Antarctica can become habitable so people like us can get away from this mess?
October 4th, 2007 at 2:11 pmThese guys all want to distance themselves from the “flag wavers” and those who believe in their country–especially during a time of war, which is really despicable. They want to distance themselves from those of us who believe that what America is doing in the war on terror is righteous and just. They want to distance themselves from the American way of life, tradition, capitalism and constitutional law. They want to distance themself from everything that made America… America. Sounds anti-American to me.

If neo-communists wins in 08
—————————————
I’ve tossed the “neoCommunist” tag … I stopped fighting it. I feel free now. The weight is lifted from my head.
They are SOVIETS, plain and simple.
October 4th, 2007 at 2:28 pmPukes like Hussein and his ol’ lady here have swallowed the ‘leftist’ goo that nationalism/patriotism is the moral equivalent of tribalism. And ‘that don’t go round here’ in their multicultural worldview.
“I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest,” he said in the interview. “Instead, I’m going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testament to my patriotism.”
Yeah right. Go fuck yourself instead of us.
October 4th, 2007 at 2:35 pmwhere is Danny Bonaduce? Obama is in need of one of those headplants.
Signs we have to get out there & vote…
October 4th, 2007 at 2:35 pm@drillanwr…
good point! But, the question remains for all…
What will the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard do in the biggest crisis since the Civil War: Hillary Clinton President of the US trying to put down a full-fledged Traditionalist Rebellion against a clearly Neo-SOVIET administration, a President with full intent on usurping and overturning the Constitution of the US, something our Armed Forces are sworn to protect and defend?

Well, bd, in that event, I’m hoping what you’re hoping.
October 4th, 2007 at 2:56 pmWell, well, if this don’t just beat all. This man wants to be our President and rejects wearing our nations flag lapel pin.
That’ll win you some votes… this man is brilliant, Hillary should have thought of that one.
OBAMARAMADINGDONG
LOLOLOL!
On second thought, Hillary isn’t STUPID enough to do something like that… he may have just ruined the chance to get his name on her ticket.
& I so predicted it would be them in 2005.
Oh well, I now predict is is Hilldabest & El Gordo Borrito de Neuevo Mexico con el nombre de un Gringo del norte BILL RICHARDSON!
Mis abuelos son de Mexico… y somos todos (en mi familia) CONSERVATIVES!
October 4th, 2007 at 3:12 pmThat’s gonna leave a mark!(reading the comments, I’d say several marks!). I always feel better when I come here and read the articles to get angry and the comments to feel at home. I’d love to see a patdollard.com meet up some time. I’m thinkin’ Vegas baby! We would sure as hell leave a mark there!
October 4th, 2007 at 3:14 pmHe’s not wering his flag pin because he wants to show his true colors. Could be the hammer and sickle. But I was thinking more along the lines of white with a piss-yellow strak down the middle.
October 4th, 2007 at 3:14 pm“Oh well, I now predict …..BILL RICHARDSON!”
Maybe. My $$$ are on Komrade Wes Klarke.
October 4th, 2007 at 3:24 pmThey have been flying him up the MSM flagpole alot lately to see how he plays.
Hi,
Just on the most simplistic level…
This guy wants to be my President and wants my vote, yet he does not have enough ‘common sense’…just to keep wearing the pin…regardless if likes America or hates America?
And then we he is question about why he is not wearing the lapel pin…he does not have the ‘common sense’…just to say he left it in his hotel room by accident or something?
Instead, he goes into a lengthly spill about why hes not wearing the pin…WTF?
Republican or Democrat…if you do not have enough ‘common sense’ to avoid these types of ‘mine fields’…
You do not have enough ‘common sense’ to be my President and run this Country.
Peace!
October 4th, 2007 at 3:29 pmDan2
ANYONE who would vote for a slimball democRat needs a rectal exam ’cause that’s where his head must be.
October 4th, 2007 at 3:55 pmSo if one wears a pin, does this automatically make them a patriot? Of course not. And if they choose not to weat the pin are they unpatriotic? Of course not. This is just another concoction of the MSM to keep the confused masses just that, confused and distracted.
October 4th, 2007 at 3:59 pmNo confusion here Eric, he’s playing to the lefties, Constitution destroyer, while talking out the side of his mouth to traditional American Republicans (in the classic sense) saying he will prove his patriotism thru words and deeds. HE is making this into political controversy, not the media.

Oh, sure … and you guys would probably make me the Designated Driver … Hell too! Call a cab … I’m tying one on too!
October 4th, 2007 at 4:47 pmP.S.-
Anyone else, in the last couple days, have to constantly fill in the “required fields” before posting … or is Pat just pissed at me?
October 4th, 2007 at 4:48 pmits not just about patriotism, it is also about respect and he shows a total lack of it,everybody should send him one to his campaign office stating “since you have lost your pin here’s one for free” shame him its the only language they know
October 4th, 2007 at 4:49 pmThere’s no confusion here Eric. Osams is playing to his constituents. He’s the one playing the game. And all of us except you see right though him.
If its any consolation, it wouldn’t matter to the rest of us whether he wears a flag pin or not. He said himself that is all about words and deeds. So wearing his pin, along with his words spoken thus far, and his deeds thus far, doesn’t change the minds of voters in here one bit.
The flag pin by the way IS a patriotic symbol. Those that wear it, aren’t exactly unpatriotic. Patriots enjoy showing their pride of country and their support of the military by their deeds, their words, their symbols and their service.
Those that distance themselves from those things are not on
October 4th, 2007 at 4:51 pmTeam Dollard. Osama is definitely not a member of this team.
“HE is making this into political controversy, not the media.”
That’s right. Probably had one of his ‘handlers tip the reporter off about it so he’d get asked too.
Here’s the rest of what he said:
“You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a pin,” Obama said. “Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we’re talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest.
“Instead,” he said, “I’m going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testimony to my patriotism.”
So let’s see… you started wearing the pin as a symbol of solidarity with the rest of America in the face of terrorism but you don’t want to wear it anymore because it’s a symbol?

I have been doing that too. I think we all are.
October 4th, 2007 at 11:29 pmI do not think Pat is mad at you!
Obama has shown all that needs to be shown even before this b.s. He is never going to be president of this country.
I will be so glad when I do not have to listen to him anymore. He is an embarrassment.
“I’m sure this guy can lead this country…right to hell.”
So true Pat.
