Video: Debate Round-Up: Huckabee, Romney, Paul, Oh My!
Huckabee had a great line when it came to declaring wars, defending our country and acting like a true leader:
You do what’s best for the American people and you suffer the consequences, but what you don’t do is what you never do is let the American people one day get hit with a nuclear device because you had politics going on in Washington instead of protecting the America people first.

Ron Paul said he probably won’t support the Republican nominee, unless they change their position on the war:

He’s four-square pro-American. Pro National Security first and the world be damned. He’s also got more executive experience than anyone in the race.
Romney is too wishy-washy on that issue. Diplomacy with Iraq is a waste of time. And when has snctions ever worked? Whatever we do sanctions-wise the Soviets and China will undermine.
The Iraniacs are too dangerous to continue to let slide. The time for diplomacy and sanctions is over with. You don’t feed a poisonous snake…you kill it.

October 10th, 2007 at 2:56 amI stayed up late and watched the re-run of the deabte. In my opinion, the two most prepared and best candidates last night were Huckabee and Guliani. Huckabee has done very well in my book. The more I hear of him, the more I like him. But I still think the nominee is going to be either Romney, Guliani or Thompson…unless Huckabee can hit one out of the park.
October 10th, 2007 at 5:05 amI don’t like what Romney was saying a few years back as he campaigned on not returning to the Reagan years. To me that is exactly what we need to do with the exception of the illegal immigration crap that happened in the 80’s. I watch Guliani do his ’stuff’ across the river while he was mayor. He did a good job, stepped on a lot of toes (which sometimes is a good thing) and handled 9-11 well … BUT … he did a lot of ‘take the path of least resistence’ stuff too. Instead of fixing the root cause he put band-aids on problems. They seemed to be better (and they were) but the problem could easily get worse. Thompson was not aggressive last night and I wish he was more assertive. He was the only guy who gave details to his ideas instead of generally saying “I am for this” or “I am against that”. He is the closest to a true conservative of the bunch so that is where my vote is (at this point). Overall, I like most of them on the stage I can’t get behind Guliani or McCain. Don’t even get me started on Ru Paul. I like listening to Tancredo and Huckabee and Romney says things I like to hear but I have a hard time believing him. Also I get tired of hearing what all the candidates have done in the past. Once we understand that they have been in government and have some experience we don’t need to know what you have done, we need to know what you will do AND HOW. Politicians are like us investing our money, past performance does not and cannot reflect future performance.
