It only took 1 and 1/2–the Nazis were pretty much licked after Stalingrad and we let the Soviets do the heavy lifting on the eastern front while we fought Japan also.

I wouldn’t be bragging about Germany’s former prowess if I were you–do you really want to crow about starting both WWI and WWII for no apparent reason other than lebensraum and in which tens of millions of people lost their lives because of German lust for territory and domination?
Standing on the side of right and the good guys, as Merkel is doing, as practically a first for the New Germany.

Germany’s striking power during that war was and still is unparalled in world history. Thru out the course of the next few weeks I will provide examples of this.

Most Americans do not quite understand this.

By the way this is in no way meant to discredited the American WW2 generation.

My father served in the Pacific in the Navy.

His brothers, my uncles, were both Seargants in US Armoured Divisions in Europe. They served proudly in Sicily, Italy, France and sadly occupied Germany

Your history is absolutely wrong. You can’t just make shit up. The German military was definitley reduced after Stalingrad. Hitler continued to pull assets from the Western front to bolster the failed advance. The Soviet counterattack crushed the German lines taking thousands of prisoners and forcing a massive retreat. Further, the weakened Western front eventually broke and led, ultimately, to the fall of Berlin.
While its true that the ‘Blitz’ was unparalled it its time, recent advances made by American troops in Iraq, under both Gens. Schwartzkopf and Franks, exceeded the Germans in both scale and effect.
You are wrong, Sir, on nearly every point you make. This may work in your DailyKos circles, but not here.
