Eight 9/11 Hijackers Were Registered To Vote

The fact has been out there for some time, but never garnered much media attention. Now, in the context of the current debate over the granting of driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, will there be renewed focus on this chilling reality? Could this be the factoid that changes a presidential election? As John Fund wrote in his Wall Street Journal column today and discussed during his “Morning Joe” appearance:

After 9/11, the Justice Department found that eight of the 19 hijackers were registered to vote.

And what made it so simple for them to register? As Fund explains:

[T]he National Voter Registration Act, commonly known as “Motor Voter,” that President Bill Clinton signed into law in 1993. It required all states to offer voter registration to anyone getting a driver’s license. One simply fills out a form and checks a box stating he is a citizen; he is then registered and in most states does not have to show any ID to vote.

The Fund column contains other mind-boggling details of the extent to which Eliot Spitzer, the New York governor whose drivers license plan Hillary Clinton supports, wanted to go:

Despite a tactical retreat this week–he says he will only give illegal immigrants a license that isn’t valid for airplane travel and entering federal buildings–Mr. Spitzer has taken active steps to obliterate any distinctions between licenses given to citizens and non-citizens.

In a memo last Sept. 24, he ordered county clerks to remove the visa expiration date and “temporary visitor” stamp on licenses issued to non-citizens who are legally in the country. A Spitzer spokeswoman explained the change was made because the “temporary” label was “pejorative,” given that some visitors might eventually stay in the U.S.

This is an issue that has the potential to change the course of a presidential election. How much coverage will the MSM devote to the story of those registered-to-vote hijackers?

Excerpts from Fund’s “Morning Joe” appearance:

JOHN FUND: New York State is one of the most liberal states in the country. 75% of people in New York oppose Governor Spitzer’s plan to give illegal aliens driver’s licenses. And there’s a whole revolt among the county clerks. I quote in today’s “Wall Street Journal,” the Democratic clerk in Oneida County: “giving illegal aliens driver’s licenses is an open invitation to voter fraud.” Because once you get a driver’s license you get a registration card with that. If you registers, you can vote, there’s no identification [required], it’s an open path.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: If you give driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, then in effect you’re making it a lot easier for them to vote illegally in elections.

FUND: Well, there could be ways where you would prevent that from happening. If, for example, you required photo ID at the polls. But Governor Spitzer and Hillary Clinton oppose that, even though 80% of Americans want people to show photo ID at the polls. You show it for everything else. You have to show it to rent a video at Blockbuster. So there would be ways to prevent that, but under this current system, there literally is nothing to prevent someone from getting a driver’s license, registering to vote, and then voting.

A bit later, in discussing the shady circumstances under which Republican Bob “B-2″ Dornan in 1996 lost his California congressional seat to Dem Loretta Sanchez, Fund dropped the bombshell about the 9-11 hijackers.

FUND: Here’s the thing. An immigration investigation by the federal government found 4,000 probable illegal voters in that race. It was decided by less than 1,000 votes. Eight of the 9-11 hijackers, eight of the 19 hijackers, were registered to vote — because they’d gotten driver’s licenses.

SCARBOROUGH: Really? Wow.

Yeah. Wow.

Nods to Drillanwr…

Most of ‘em were tagged by security software, too, but “anti-racism” rules put in place by Al Gore saw to it that the police weren’t allowed to talk to them. All they could do was check their luggage, and we all know what happened next.

Like I’ve said in the past … The 9-11 “Truthers” are barking up the wrong administration tree with their insane conspiracy theory …

  3. GBU43

Someone find out how they where registered.

    I’ll bet it wasn’t republican.

  4. Political.fish

Unfuckingbelievable, and how many people want Hillary in office? or any Democrat? Somebody tell me how the fuck any American can even consider that as a possibility? We are in some serious shit.

For all the people that are against profiling I would like to point them to this picture.

The names have a strange similarity too.

“Efforts should be made to avoid using characteristics that impose a disproportionate burden of inconvenience, embarrassment, or invasion of privacy of members of minority racial, religious or ethnic groups.”

As Evan Sayet said in his vid; ‘we’ve had to purposefully dumb ourselves down, pretend we don’t know what we DO know. Strip search a 90 year old Swedish grandmother and do nothing about Islamists yelling allah akbar before boarding a plane’.
Every word that the Holy Algore pukes up is an assault on reason.
These sniveling Islamic sympathizing fuckers are going to get us all killed.

Registered Democrat im sure. they love power so much they would probably willingly allow this as long as they would vote for them.

  8. Dan (The Infidel)

Five of the hijackers lived in Arlington, Va. They were a stone’s throw from DC and the Pentagon. All had valid ID’s. And no one was wise to them…. And the governor at the time was a Republican. It was a pre-9-11 world. I wouldn’t put the blame on party. I put the blame on the hijackers first, and the CIA, FBI, Jamie Gorellic and that whole intel group that collectively failed to detect these scumbags in the first place.

the democrats have been desperate to gain new voters and since they can con some people with political correctness about a war on “immigrants” by republicans they can place laws that in effect give voting rights to illegals thus padding their constituencies which are dwindling among legal citizens in their normal constituencies among blacks and even hispanics. they are losing more of the military vote, if they had any in the first place, the asian vote is almost non existent except for illegal chicoms and the like.

I hated spitzer when he first became NY’s attorney general. He is a leech , and New yorkers particularly in buffalo, who continue to bemoan the lack of investment due to high taxation and excessive beaurocracy, also continue to vote for tax and spend liberals be they democrats or republicans. You get what you vote for. Even our churches, out of guilt, are offering safe havens to illegals as if they are the victims exclusively, unknowingly we do not distinguish between well intentioned illegals and those that wish to do our country great harm.

I once offered to marry a well intentioned illegal in order to get her citizenshp but later reneged because i was afraid of being caught. her true colors became known to me by her condemnation of me and cutting me off from her family whom I supported with much money and love previously. And she was a deacon in her church, yet turned out to be a selfish woman whos intentions I now doubt were any good. She is lucky i didnt turn her in.

I say we stop making distinctions or worry about an illegals intentions and turn them all in. if they are innocent and future contributing citizens , let the courts decide.

Thanks for the link to the American Thinker article Q_Mech.

“…..In August 1996, President Clinton signed Executive Order 13015, which established the “White House Commission on Aviation Safety and Security”, often called the Gore Commission in recognition that Gore was the chairman. That commission operated for six months, from August 1996 until February of 1997, when it issued its final report. Gore’s commission were mandated to provide to the President “a strategy designed to improve aviation safety and security”. As was expected, the Gore Commission addressed the issue of terrorism and commercial aviation…..”

Clinton and Gore did NOTHING to protect our citizens from terrorism in the 90s and, as the Chief Executives, they had the responsibility AND the authority to do just that. Was the CIA, FBI, et al dysfunctional? Yes. That was talked about from the time of the 93 WTC bombing and it was Clinton’s job to fix it and protect us. Instead he’s spunking all over some intern.

  11. RockDoc

History, if told accurately, will not reflect well on Clinton(s)

  12. FreedomBill

    Soooo….

    As I understand this:

    - Bill Clinton paved the way for the hijackers

    - Al Gore allowed the pukes to not be interrogated

    - and the loon-left accuses Bush to be responsible

NOW we have these Clintonesque clowns trying to further their socialist agenda.

ANYTHING that is related or connected to Bill Clinton is NOT in the best interest of America!

  13. Lamplighter

But Billary says she wants to return to when they were making real progress in the 90’s. Let’s see: registering terrorists to vote; allowing UBL to set up training camps in Somalia and train, then move to Afghanistan and take over a sovereign nation; setting up a commission to improve airline security and then doing nothing (Gore chairman). Gore is hysterical over global warming to distract from his abject failure in doing a job he was assigned to do: improve airline security. There has been a hue and cry for years from the left about how it’s un-American to make people prove they are American before they vote. Well, we know why–Dems want illegals to vote, because they know they won’t vote GOP.

  14. Lamplighter

 Oops. UBL was in Sudan, not Somalia. Neighboring country.

  15. Peggy McGilligan

REGISTERED TO VOTE, HELL; THEY HAD LIBRARY CARDS, ATTENDED COLLEGE, AND LEARNED HOW TO FLY:

We (Hillary) already taught them to fly. Now, lets teach ‘em to drive. Get ‘em out of the “shadows,” on to the streets. Leon Panetta would be the first to tell us that immigrants paved these roads. “This is a complicated issue,” says Bill Clinton. But how “complicated” is illegal? Does anybody remember that two of the 9-11 hijackers visas were renewed, six months after the attacks?

What could happen? And why does the incidence of Al Qaeda flight students, trained at the University of Bill Clinton, remain a non-issue? Einstein said, “The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.” So far, the silence is deafening: http://theseedsof9-11.com
