Anbar Awakening Assault Crushes Al Qaeda Cell In Fallujah

Anbar, Nov 4, (VOI) – The Anbar Awakening Force arrested 30 gunmen in a security operation northeast of Falluja city, an official security source in the Falluja police said.
“A force of 70 men from the Anbar Awakening Force detained 30 gunmen belonging to al-Qaeda Organization in Iraq and seized arms and CDs containing information and names of al-Qaeda members in the area of al-Karma, Falluja,” the source, who declined to have his name mentioned, told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
“The operation occurred after gathering all the information about the presence of gunmen of al-Qaeda and the weapons they have inside the city,” the source added.
The Anbar Awakening Force is a group composed of clans that fight members of al-Qaeda Organization in the predominantly Sunni province.
Meanwhile, the same source said, policemen in the city “found three decayed unidentified bodies dumped in a river near a hideout of al-Qaeda gunmen,” adding “they were among the bodies of people kidnapped by al-Qaeda members in the area.”
Falluja, the largest city in Anbar province, lies 45 km west of Baghdad.

I thought these guys were all about martyrdom, you know, the virgins and such.
I’ve always found it odd that anyone would surrender and not go for the virgins.
But, I guess they don’t really believe it themselves.
I mean, would you strap a bomb on a 12 yr old when you could do it yourself and get the girls?
