Newt’s right. Unfortunately, it’s the American, and maybe human, psyche that doesn’t pay attention until disaster strikes. We are better at reacting as a people, rather than being proactive. For instance, we knew airline security was a joke for decades, and it took 9/11 to wake us from a slumber. Now, we are sleep walking again about alot of threats, and many dem leaders (”the GWOT is a bumper sticker” “they are just trying to scare us”, etc.) want us to lull into an even deeper, pre-9/11 sleep. 50% or so of us may be awake, but it will take a dirty bomb in a US city to wake the other 50% again (as I write this in the middle of the night).

Man I wish this guy was running for president. He is by far the smartest policy maker in America and he would get the job done in the WoT. My government teacher was saying the same thing last year about us losing liberties if a nuke goes off in a US city. Let’s hope we never see that day.

I share every one of his concerns.
Thank you Newt for giving them voice.

Newt, you have to start using figures not percentages. Saying ten percent of islam is out to get us doesn’t sound like a lot. But, saying that ten percent of a little over a billion is one-hundred million might make an impression. That’s about the combined populations of Germany and Japan during the forties. But, at their peaks each army had maybe eight million in them and look at all the damage they did. One-hundred million nut jobs are running around today and I’m beginning to think our kowtowing to the majic kingdom and their financing of their wobbly mosks here in the US makes us useful idiots.

I blame the Progressive liberals, the Democrats and that Communist organization, the ACLU for this mess. These people have hobbled America to the point of impotence. The only thing G-d, Flag and Country will get these days is a lawsuit. It is vital to our existence that a strong conservative candidate be elected in 08. We have to send a clear message to the rest of the world and the libs in this country that their subversion will not be tolerated and we will fight to win.

Yeah he really needs to run for President, I would vote for him in a heartbeat because he truly seems to understand the threat we face

Personally, I’m sick of Newt and his preaching!
We needed him to be serious when we voted in the Republican Congress of 1994 with him as Speaker and we needed him to be serious in implementing his Contract with America, but noooooooo! He was busy being “serious” about committing adultery, divorcing his wife and making money off of an unethical book deal.
If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem, which Newt exacerbates by getting in bed with Liberals like Hillary.
I’m delighted he’s not running for President.

“Unethical book deal,” Jen? You’ve got to be kidding. You believed the press. His was the most effective GOP Congress in 40 years, so I wouldn’t be too critical. Anyway, while his private life was a mess, what he is warning about is real. That’s what this post was about.
