Politico Interviews Pat Dollard On “Redacted” - Now Linked On Drudge
Fake soldier in De Palma’s “reality of the Iraq war”
By the way, I’ve seen the film and it hasn’t changed my opinion about what Cuban and DePalma have done one bit. In fact, the film is only more pathetic, loathsome and cheaply exploitative than what one would simply imagine based on the noxious things DePalma has had to say about it. And creatively it’s, well, the best term really is “a joke”. It looks like it was made for $5.00. The dialogue, the military culture, the milieu, the fact that it looks nothing like Iraq, all of it, is as phony as Mark Cuban’s claim that it is a “pro-troop movie”. All of which might be somewhat more excusable if De Palma hadn’t so heavily rested the credibility of his message on the claim that the film would be the most realistic view of Iraq yet seen. DePalma’s Iraq is simply what you would expect: a propagandist’s Iraq where what you see is only what is convenient to his propaganda. The troops are cartoons, and if there’s one bad thing to be done they do it - the rape scene merely being the crescendo of his tediously droning ( and unintentionally laughable ) series of cinematic libels. His troops reflect almost nothing of the reality of the young Americans who serve in Iraq, and reflect only the nefarious wishful imaginings of an aging, bubble-dwelling, spoiled 60’s liberal lightyears away from the frontlines of this war and the generation who fight it - - and at least as many lightyears away from the days in which he was able to exercise any interesting cinematic prowess whatsoever . Ironically, by these very libels and its lies of omission, “Redacted” is probably the most truth-redacted Iraq film ever made. Ultimately, like “Lion’s For Lambs” is fails under the weight of its own creative vacuousness and tedium as much as on its vapid and odious propagandistic ambitions.
And no, I didn’t pay a dime to see the piece of shit.
Politico:
Story by Jeffrey Ressner
After months of controversy, scathing reviews, a fight with his own distributor and calls for a boycott by Fox News’ bully with a pulpit, Brian DePalma’s movie about the Iraq war — “Redacted” — finally opens in 16 theaters today.

November 16th, 2007 at 6:16 pmPat Dollard. Doing jobs other Americans won’t do. Like watching DePalma’s crap movie. We all owe Pat a debt of gratitude. Here’s to Pat…
November 16th, 2007 at 6:18 pmYea…I’d say Pat has done a great sacrifice for all of us so we don’t have to go see this lousy DePalma creation.
Thanks Pat!
November 16th, 2007 at 7:12 pmThe film opens in all of 16 theaters? I’m sure it’s nowhere in my state. So, I don’t have to weigh spending movie money on this “film” against something else.
November 16th, 2007 at 7:16 pmThe film opens in 16 theaters? bwahahahah. That’s funny as hell. Only 16? LOL. And they’ll be 16 protests outside. Cuban and the other degenerate DePalma have only begun to feel the pain. We’re kicking their lying asses but good on this one.
Did you get the part about Pat’s movie being on Showtime in April? Hot damn. Need to get that news out to O’Reiley. Bet he’ll spread the word. He and his guest hostess Ingraham are looking for a good pro-troops movie and were decrying the fact that none has been produced…well…they don’t know about Pat’s movie yet…
Can’t wait till April. Oh and PS, if Depalma and Cuban are listening…I got two words for you two cretins…and it ain’t howdy doo.
November 16th, 2007 at 8:37 pmThank you Pat! I could not bear to watch a movie like that so I am glad you did that for us.
I am not surprized at the poor quality in every aspect of the movie as you have described it so well without even one cuss word! That is very impressive. I wanted to join the group in front of the Chicago Cinema but I could not get the day off and had worked even later than anticipated today. It was on my mind all day.
I am so anxious for your film to come out in April! It will blow all these other films out of the water.
You, Iggy, Bash, Howie and all the others here have done so much. All I can say is thank you.
November 16th, 2007 at 8:47 pmIf Cuban wanted to do something good with his money, he should help out the homeless in Dallas, Lord knows he’s got the money. He can put it behind crap like this but can’t help out his own city. He leaves that to the rest of us and our tax dollars.
November 16th, 2007 at 9:18 pmThanks Pat, if you ever get down to Orange County
“Redacted,” is like taking a picture of David’s butt hole and telling people that this is the art that Michaelangelo makes.
November 16th, 2007 at 10:46 pmThe description is exactly how i thought it would be. Screw De Palma, Cuban and anyone else in this country who want our troops to lose this war or any war. I will never see failure of our country as a good thing except for when the DemonRats fail to win any more seats in congress or the Presidency.
November 17th, 2007 at 7:32 amThanks for watching this shithole production for us Pat cant wait until YA comes out, you know ill be watching it brother
I’m with Grumpy. Calling Redacted a film is like calling “Piss Christ” art. There is absolutely nothing edifying about Mark Cuban, his movies or his makeup.
I hope America vilifies Mark Cuban for his remaining years and scorns him. Give him the miserable life he is owed everywhere he goes. Anybody that would accept the life America has granted him and then turn around and spit in its collective face is beyond low. Cuban is the worst of the worst.
November 17th, 2007 at 8:09 amP.S. - Thank you Pat, Bashman and anybody else involved in protesting against Mark Cuban and his wretched filth. Folks like you guys remind me we still got the greatest people in the world - Mark Cuban not withstanding…
November 17th, 2007 at 8:11 amRedacted isn’t even so good as to deserve that comparison [to David]. It would be more accurate to say that it was like looking at David’s piehole through beer goggles and saying that this was a full and accurate portrayal of Michelangelo’s work as a sculptor.
As much as taking the keyhole-narrow view of things, it’s the wild fun-house-mirror distortion which makes Redacted so ludicrous.
November 17th, 2007 at 10:59 amHow could you stand to watch it Pat?
You were there with our Warriors and already know the truth of them.
They do not deserve this shit Hollyweird dishes up about them. Depalma is vile and evil always has been and Cuban is a retard cause he wants in with them.
My son will do his second tour in Iraq starting in March.
Nothing had better happen to him because of them.
November 17th, 2007 at 11:17 amKeep up the excellent work Mr. Dollard and thank you!
November 17th, 2007 at 11:22 amVanessa
Pat, and others, usually have ways of seeing something like that without paying for it. Like in all things we must know the enemy to keep tabs on thier thinking, actions, and all their motives no matter how severe or how subtle. That is why I was impressed by Pat’s critique of the movie. Not one curse word. I am sure he would have more than preferred to not have saw it.
“My son will do his second tour in Iraq starting in March.
Nothing had better happen to him because of them.”
Thank you to your son and whole family. All are in our prayers.
(The backlash will be severe if troop deaths go up as a result of this or any other treasonous actions or productions. The vile bastards.)
November 17th, 2007 at 2:44 pmSandyK, troops have already been killed specifically because of the incident depicted in this movie. The movie itself shows this.
