China Pissed Off That We Welcome Dalai Lama And Sell Weapons To Taiwan

I like won ton. I like pork fried rice (don’t tell Louie). Hell, I have seen probably every Shaw Brothers flick ever made…twice.

But I am a little concerned about China lately. Just a little.

One thing’s for sure, if they don’t start regulating their industrial waste, they’re going to be poisoned and worthless in 50 years.

Anyway, we told you about all the problems with the Kitty Hawk and her support vessel’s crews missing liberty in Hong Kong because China has a wet noodle up their ass. Then they said “OK…come on in.” But that was too late, the Kitty Hawk had left, and so had the crew’s loved ones who went to Hong Kong to see their heroes.

Then China said “It was all a misunderstanding.”

Then they said “Well, we are a little pissed that you gave the Dalai Lama a medal, and you sold $3 billion worth of weapons to our rebellious kids, but that has nothing to do with anything.”

yeah…right.

From SpaceWar.com:

US actions over Tibet and Taiwan have damaged relations between China and the United States, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman said Thursday amid a row over US naval calls to Hong Kong.

“Recently, due to the erroneous practices of the US, relations have been disturbed and harmed,” foreign ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao said.

Liu cited a US congressional medal awarded to the Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama in October as one of the reasons for the damaged ties. China views the Dalai Lama as a dangerous figure seeking independence for Tibet.

Liu also referred to Washington’s recent approval of about three billion dollars’ worth of weapon sales to Taiwan. China views Taiwan as part of its territory that must eventually be reunified, by force if necessary.

Liu gave his comments when questioned as to why China had blocked US naval vessels from entering Hong Kong recently, moves that have angered senior politicians and military figures in the United States.

He did not directly link the blocked naval visits to Taiwan and Tibet, but said China’s decisions on whether to allow the vessels into the southern Chinese territory were a question of national sovereignty.

“On the issue of port visits, China acts in accordance with the principles of its sovereignty and approves specific visits on a case-by-case basis,” Liu said.

In regards to the highest-profile incident, involving the USS Kitty Hawk not making it to Hong Kong for a Thanksgiving holiday stop last week, Liu insisted that the vessel had been given approval to visit.

US officials have said China initially denied entry, then only gave permission after the Kitty Hawk had left the area and relatives of the sailors who had travelled to Hong Kong had also gone.

The issue was raised in a Wednesday meeting in Washington between President George W. Bush and visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, who called the whole affair a “misunderstanding,” a White House spokesman said.

The United States said Wednesday it had protested to China over the incident. Liu said Beijing had not received any such protest.

Real pissy of them! If I was CNO, I’d make Hong Kong off-limits to all Navy personnel from now on.

Let that run for a few months and see how Hong Kong likes all the money our guys won’t be spending there………

Thanks to the Clinton’s generous ‘economic’ and ‘technology’ sharing programs we have a huge problem.

Here’s another little piece of information people may not be aware about China, Saudi Arabia, and Iran’s relationship. Here’s a news clip a year before 9-11

    Franchie

“seems that China will you replace you…”

If the world wants to replace their beacon of Freedom and Innovation with the ChiCom than I could give a rat’s ass.

Soclialists and Communists have been stealing and robbing from the United States anything and everything to try to call it their own. They have been propagandizing these type of fake achievements for decades. If you call that a replacement than I have no idea where your morality and ethics come from if any exist.

The USA is not the procurator of the world. EuroAsians like to compare us imperialists or the Roman empire because they have no other point or understanding from which to judge US society. Nor do we claim to have a franchise on Democracies. They’ve been around for quite a few centuries. No. It’s something quite different.

As far as the US colonies replacing the UK. That didn’t happen. As far as I can tell the UK has all the wealth and more she had when King George was in power. The difference between European mentalities and US mentalities is quite stark. First, we believe wealth can be created vs wealth re-distribution. Making money is a uniquely American term and is why Europeans judge America’s wealth on the perspective that we stole all your loot. Check around. It’s all still there just like it was a few centuries ago.

America is not filled with the immigrants who robbed Europe of their loot but are filled with the immigrants who ‘escaped’ Europe and other countries and were free to create their own and keep it. That’s a huge mental difference. We don’t depend on anyone. It’s fashionable to America bash as a bad guy because that’s all Europe has ever known.

  9. franchie

    the differences with your explanation and mine are the facts ; I can better speak of the french perspective ;

    now, as far immigration is concerned, yes you managed to control our ex colonies without persons, but money invests ;

now it is not quite sure as far as Viet nam is concerned, and Algeria ; who supplied our opponent rebels but your governments ?

who replaced british oil cies in ME ?

your view is too much colorised with the dual vision : communism vs free markets, don’t speek about democraties, cause in Latin America, that wasn’t US purpose, idem for Iran when you chased the Shah, is it for Irak ? I have a doubt ; was it because you had a global view of what would be a redefined ME able to make trades on the free market spirit ?

Now, I am afraid you are going to be overwelmed by the chinese hunger, and it is not limited ; you’ll have to think your strategies, retie with the old world, make some concessions with the arab world so that every one can find the count and make an unic front in fron of the east threat

  10. Egfrow

    Franchie,

Replacing British Oil polices in the ME? You have to seriously ask yourself some questions; How did the oil industry come into existence in the first place and why was there such a demand for it? Here’s a hint. It wasn’t Britain. Start with a few clues by naming some individuals such as Samuel Morey, Edwin Drake, The Wright Brothers, Howard Hughes Sr., and Thomas Edison.

Private oil companies did not exist outside the United States for a more than a century and for the most extent still don’t with a few exemptions. The global trend is again towards State owned oil production. Even France’s Total S.A., which lost out big time from the Iraq invasion, is mostly at the whims of the French Government.

The Democrats in this country want to take the profits away from our oil companies so Indeed we may end up in the same boat if this happens.

You mention money investments into the colonies but fail to mention where this money comes from. Not from Europe.

I agree that the ChiComs aggression are a huge problem for the USA but I’m not sure about your suggestion of instituting compromises, That’s a European talking perspective if dealing with aggression, and franky, as an American I’m getting tired of hearing about USA bailing you out of one of your historical ‘compromises’ to your enemies. Now you want us to do the same. Haha!

  11. franchie

    http://www.clio.fr/BIBLIOTHEQUE/histoire_et_geopolitique_du_petrole_dans_le_golfe_arabo-persique.asp

well Britishs owned 40 % of the oil through diverse bank institutions

it was in 1972 that Saddam nationalised the companies and offered to share the production to us, Russia…US, Nederland, etc.

During the boycott, oil for food, Irak still sold oil to EU, and the war was also ment to recover your place there while we lost ours as well the other foreign exploitatations

and he was going to move into euro just before you invaded Irak,

which was programmed long before 9/11, just your government had to wait for the right occasion

now, as far China is concerned you’ll be not able to handle the threat alone,

so be it compromises, be it political associations, we’ll see.

so, The wheel turns, first EU, then US, at the end China

  12. Egfrow

    franchie,

China has the advantage of stealth right now. The general public is not truly aware of the threat that Communist China has on the world. They have a head start and have gained powerful momentum including help from sympathetic US ‘political leaders’ and Global Media. They are all in love with the idea of collectivism. If China is awakening, then America can be considered falling asleep at the wheel.

But. There are a few fundamental differences, one the MSM is loosing it’s grip on the influence of the populations. The Internet which, the Collective UN is trying to take control off, is an idea and MSM equalizer. the ChiComs fear public access to information as well as most of the major MSM outlets. The internet is the wild card which they underestimated and forgot to control. They are working on that also.

It’s been my strongest opinion that the ChiComs and Russia have been directly responsible for supporting and creating the environment that allows Radical Islam to be a threat and a distraction from the real agenda.

  13. franchie

China is already controlling Internet access to their inner users.

Putin controls already the visible medias. I didn’t merk that the russian population was too much interested with net-bloggings or researches

sure, the both countries are happy to make a distraction with “radical islamism” ; that doesn’t bother them anyway, they can “kill” people whenever they need it without regrets
