Congresswoman To Push Bill That Bans Security Contractors
Rep. Jan “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia” Schakowsky (D-IL).
Next Wednesday, Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) will introduce legislation to phase out the use of tens of thousands of private security contractors deployed on battlefields where American troops are present. The Stop Outsourcing Security Act intends to effectively put Blackwater and their ilk out of business.
“After 9/11 we thought airport security was so important that it shouldn’t be contracted out and we created the Transportation Security Administration,” said Peter Karafotas, a spokesman for the Congresswoman. “The writing’s on the wall that Blackwater needs to go, and contracting is on its way out.”
Private contractors should not be used “for functions that should be reserved for U.S. military forces,” Schakowsky argued in a “dear colleague” letter to fellow House members earlier this month. Half a dozen fellow members of Congress, including Reps. Bob Fillner (D-CA), Jim McGovern (D-WA), and Nick Rahall (D-WV), have since signed on as co-sponsors, and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) may introduce a companion measure in the Senate.
And how the fuck are we gonna fill these slots then when they fight tooth and nail to not have troops over their! they see it just as a way to weaken the situation and support their agenda of pulling out of Iraq. This group does what it does, and does it well with the least amount of resources, if the army etc takes it over, they require more resources due to protocals, more support staff etc. Guaranteed it is more expensive to not have the contractors.
November 2nd, 2007 at 9:07 amIt will be vetoed, and congress doesn’t have an override majority.
November 2nd, 2007 at 9:25 amJust more surrendering from the surrendercrats.
Dont worry Scotty after the elections you wont here anymore about this. The dems are just using this as another tool to defeat America and they are grandstanding. Besides what the military needs to do is UP there ROE’s to that of Blackwater instead of the DOS trying to water the ROE’s for private security firm down (Sorta sounds like our education system here)You have not heard on DoS employee that has been escorted by Blackwater say on negative thing about them. I here rumors that ol Condi really likes blackwater,Dyncorp, etc. So its just a bunch of blustering by the commie left in this country.
November 2nd, 2007 at 9:46 amstupid fool
We are still dealing with the reduction of our forces after winning the cold war.
As you know, you have to go to war with the Army you have, not the Army you want
November 2nd, 2007 at 10:04 amWhat a fucking stupid witch. The state department employees are allready too scared to go to Iraq, how are we going to get any lefty diplomats there without security contractors to hold their hands.
November 2nd, 2007 at 10:29 amThey hold up the employees in the Transportation Security Administration as a shining example? rofl
These dunb ass Dems in Congress obviously aren’t reading all of the alarming reports on just how much the “workers” in the TSA are missing during screenings at our nation’s airports. These government workers, that the Dems refused to privatize over Bush’s objections, are as hard as any government worker to fire, even if they are shown to be inept.
So, to these “genius” Dems, the solution to put isolated Blackwater incidents behind is to add more inept government workers to the mix? OMFG !!! Give me a damn break. Government is already too damn big with all of these fat agencies tripping all over each other. Enough.
November 2nd, 2007 at 10:40 am“…the surge has not been a success… and that we have to bring our troops home as soon as possible.” Jan Shakowsky D(feat) - co-leader of Democrat(ic) Out of Iraq caucus.
Yeah get them back “as soon as possible” before you look like a bigger fool Jan. And bring those damn contractors home too you defeatist moonbat idiot.
November 2nd, 2007 at 10:58 amLet’s go ahead and enact sharia law one day a week. Like every Wednesday we can bury stupid bitches like Marcia up to their necks and throw rocks at them.
November 2nd, 2007 at 11:30 am“Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL)”
Do they even need to put the “(D)” in stories like this any more? Isn’t that self-evident?
