Kirkuk Raid Nets 33 Al Qaeda
Kirkuk, Nov 23, (VOI)- Joint Iraqi-U.S. forces waged on Friday morning a crackdown operation in al-Howaiyja district, during which 22 wanted Al Qaeda terrorists and 11 suspected gunmen were arrested, a police source said.
“A joint force of Iraqi and U.S. personnel waged at dawn a crackdown operation in al-Howaiyja district, southwest of Kirkuk, where they arrested 22 wanted men and 11 suspected gunmen,” the source, who asked not to be named, told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
“The forces also seized amount of different weapons,” he added.
Kirkuk is 250 km northeast of Baghdad.
