Pat Dollard.com Exclusive Video: Matt Sanchez’s “Shrapnel At The Balad Hospital”
Matt Sanchez, in addition to his myriad work on his own site and other publications, is joining the Pat Dollard team as a contributing video journalist from Iraq and Afghanistan. Matt just landed in Kabul. I encourage everyone to visit his his site frequently, and help out with the many expenses of his pro-troop work by dinging that donation button.
Jesus, that was pretty disturbing.

I’ve often been accused of painting a rosy picture of Iraq. Things HAVE calmed down enormously, BUT it’s still a war zone and ugly things happen.

November 16th, 2007 at 2:52 pmMatt,
The bent metal rod is called “rebar” (ree-bar). A Ka-Bar (kay-bar) is the Marine Corps fighting knife.

Matt was in the Marines and I assume that he knows what a Ka-Bar is. It was probably just a slip up on his part. Don’t let it detract from his reporting.
November 16th, 2007 at 3:28 pmMatt,
Keep up the great work! We need more journalists like yourself, and less of the MSM types & their agendas.
November 16th, 2007 at 5:18 pmYou’re right, it was not a Ka Bar, but there was, just recently the story of a soldier who had a knife put in his head, and he survived. He was a patient at that hospital the day before.
November 16th, 2007 at 9:01 pmThank you Matt for all that you do!! We need guys like you and Pat and Michael so that we get the real story of what is really going on over there.
Semper Fi Brother!!
