Teddy Bear Teacher May Be Freed Tomorrow
A Sudanese mob burns Gibbons’ picture while screaming for her execution, this week.
The Daily Mail is reporting that high level talks in Sudan seemed to have paved the way for Teddy Bear Teacher Gillian Gibbons’ sentence to be lifted, and that she may be headed home “within hours”…
Sources at the British Embassy in Khartoum said there were “high hopes” the 54-year-old from Liverpool would be on her way home as early as today.
A weekend of top-level negotiations was said to have paved the way for Sudanese President Omar al-Basir to lift her 15-day sentence for insulting Islam.
The decision could be announced today when he meets two British Muslim peers who flew into Khartoum on Saturday to press for Mrs Gibbons’ release.
Labour peer Lord Ahmed and Tory Baroness Warsi were originally scheduled to fly back today, but delayed their departure amid signs that progress was being made.

I’m a teacher in south korea and I’m going to buy a stuffed Pig and place it in the classroom only I’m not going to let the kids name it. Guess what name I’m going to choose? This is not about insulting Islam now , it more about showing solidarity with teachers who innocently try to be creative in the classroom. F*** Islam and Muslims If they wont take to the streets and protest the ignoramuses in sudan. If this is not true islam, then get off your asses, and protest this ridiculous sentence.
