Female Suicide Bomber In Iraq Kills 16 Injures 27
Diala, Dec 7 – Sixteen people were killed and 27 others wounded when a woman wearing an explosive belt blew herself up amidst a gathering of civilians in central Muqdadiya district on Friday, an official source in Diala province said.
“A female suicide bomber attacked the popular committees headquarters in al-Mualimeen neighborhood, central Muqdadiya, (45 km) northeast of Baaquba city, leaving 16 civilians dead and 27 others sustaining different injuries,” the source told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq.
The popular committees are local armed groups formed from tribesmen in a number of cities in Diala with the aim cooperating with policemen to maintain order and track down gunmen in the province.
The source did not give any further details but said security forces rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area while ambulances were taking the wounded to nearby hospitals.
Cities and districts in Diala have been witnessing a wide-scale security campaign for three months now in which Iraqi and U.S. troops are taking part to manhunt armed groups holed up in the province, particularly the al-Qaeda Organization in Iraq.
Iraqi security authorities and U.S. forces said the campaign left hundreds of members of armed groups killed or wounded and hundreds others arrested.

There’s nothing in the Koran about female suicide-bombers. The female’s job in Islam is to do the haj, not to participate in quital. Her jihad is the haj.
