Oh! Plot Thickens! NBC Lawyer That Blocked Troops Ad Is A Pelosi Funder
Well well well…it appears that the mouthpiece that said “Hey! No fucking support the troops ads here at NBC, pal,” gave thousands and thousands of dollars to the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, John Kerry, and the campaign committees of House and Senate Democrats.
According to a Fox News report, Richard Cotton, the general counsel for NBC/Universal, was one of two network officials who decided not to sell ad time to Freedom’s Watch.
There’s more here.
According to FEC records, Cotton has been a generous donor to Democrat campaigns and liberal causes. Earlier this year, he donated $1,000 to the political action committee (PAC) of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and last year gave the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) $7,000.
Seems ironic that it was one of NBC’s networks MSNBC that earlier this year created a stir when they detailed the political giving of journalists and news organizations which revealed that 90% of journalists gave to democratic candidates and liberal causes and lean to the left. Awesome video about that with Pat Dollard in it here, check it out.

NBC Lawyer who nixed troop ad gives generously to Congressional Democrats
http://www.redstate.com/blogs/majorityap/2007/dec/08/nbc_lawyer_who_nixed_troop_ad_gives_generously_to_congressional_democrats
And part of one of the comments from the above URL:
“Cotton gave more than $40 large to the Demorats and $8 large to the Repubs……. gee that was tough.”
It’s easy to see which way he leans, even if he has the balls to say he gives donations to both major parties.
December 8th, 2007 at 8:44 pmNow this, truly this, makes me irrevocably, intolerably, insatiably, interpolatively, irate.
Fuck these pusillanimous, pansy, pretentious, purveyors of punk.
December 8th, 2007 at 8:51 pmAnti-troop, anti-American bias at NBC? I’m shocked I tell ya.
December 8th, 2007 at 9:20 pmThat network deserves no respect…Well these pathetic losers needed a fan base and they paid to get it. They sellout our guys to appease a political agenda. That means General Electric is every bit to blame…Do not buy their products, its the only way…and post General Electric anti Americanism on web sites…Sell their stock and lets bring down their quarterly earnings. Thats a big time effect….Fuck NBC, go after Gen Electric
December 8th, 2007 at 10:49 pm@Jim:
Good thinking. NBC doesn’t seem to care about ratings. Idealogical purity comes first. Most of the sponsors put money first, making them much more vulnerable. NBC can’t do much damage if they’re reduced to the same stature and viewership as a community access channel.
@Dbo:
Agreed, but please ease up on the alliteration.
December 9th, 2007 at 12:41 amBox of chocolates? More like a box of fucking rocks.
These people are light years dumber than they could ever hope we are when they try to pull this shit off …
THIS IS EXACTLY WHY they blast and hate the internet blog world. They get away with NOTHING. In one day (usually within hours!) a handful of blogs investigate and debunk and bring forth actual facts than an MSM network or butt-wipe newspaper does in a year.
I know we’re all investigated out … But I really and truly believe the entire MSM needs investigated … from top to bottom … and when they are finished with that they can investigate Olberman and Matthews in the basement sewer …
December 9th, 2007 at 7:24 amI’m all for a boycott of NBC, MSNBC, and GE. Maybe when their stocks tank they will finally listen. This isn’t news. Pure liberal propaganda is more like it. I say Fuck’em!
December 9th, 2007 at 9:50 amA supporter of Nasti Peloski? LOL Whodathunkit?
December 9th, 2007 at 10:32 amConcur Dan…sure didn’t see that one coming.
Maggie - I have a suspicion this story didn’t end up here by accident. Kudos gal and as always I join your thanks to Bash for getting the word out. acu…

Bash Columbus discovered this one on his own.
December 9th, 2007 at 12:02 pmMy letter to GE investor relations:
My letter is in regard to your company’s refusal to allow paid airtime to the Freedom watch organization.
Considering your network has given upwards to 35 hours of FREE airtime to Al Gore and his environmental crusade it is hard to believe you would reject a PAID advert from another political organization whose message was simply to let the Men and Women in the field know that we support them.
Your own company has stated that you support our troops by conducting recruiting fairs targeting military personnel, do you honestly think that simultaneously alienating them by refusing to air a pro-troop message is good for business?
Blogs are coming out with more and more details about the politics behind the snub. It would behoove you to air the spot in order to counter the damage being done to your image , an image already seen as far left because of ideologues such as Keith Olberman and Chris Matthews. If you add to your message that you hate the troops you could also hinder further business in the aeronotics and elctrical industries. I have many friends and relatives currently reconsidering their investments with GE. Below is an article from a blog to illustrate how your image is being tarnished by left wing idealogues.
I hope you will reconsider your decision and allow freedom watch to air the advertisement that all the other networks have shown.
Sincerly,
I pasted an URL of this article to the letter.
I encourage others to write letters as well.
