Eventually, I learned the joys of killing. But I’m skipping ahead of myself. I landed in Iraq in November 2004 armed with a video camera instead of a weapon...

OK, that was KEWL but the third photo appears to be bass-ackward. Notice the little knobby things sticking out on the left side of the photo? Well, those little knobby things are on the opposite side of the second photo. Notice also the angle of the plane in all other photos is left to right/front to back but the third one is opposite. Who screwed that up? Surely not a fly-boy.

How did no one get sucked into his intake? And who's the poor bastard that had to change his oil and wipe the windshield? The Texaco Man never had it so tough.

Jarhead. don't make too much out of that. It's hard to say, but I would suggest that there are hydraulic controls on either side of that door. Not sure because I was never a tender on one. I look at the aircraft and the light/shadows on it are proper.

When I get material, it's usually from pretty good sources :)

These are some great shots, but they are a series of progressively zoomed pics. If a jet was to get that close up behind such a large cross-section as the fuselage of a C-130...the engine/s would suffer "compressor-stall", and thefighter would fall out of the sky until the pilot could get them spun up enuf for a restart....

Im pretty sure thats a Euro Fighter..

I'm also pretty sure that he'd be in a compressor stall situation that close to the back of a C130 with the ramp down.

The transition into non laminar flow that close to the back would also cause some series grief.

Anyone remember what happens to a Chinese jet when he gets to close to another aircraft?

The Israeli's are so on top of it, they take one of our jets and pay to have it modified to their specs. Our f-16's are single seat, they order 2 seaters so the back seat guy runs the weapons systems and then they add all kinds of extras on a proven airframe and save zillions while we spend spend spend
on new stuff that could bankrupt the whole military budget.

FOR ALL YOU PICKY TYPES, YOU MAY ALSO NOTICE THAT IN SHOT # 2 THERE IS A MISSLE ON THE RIGHT PYLON.ON SHOT #3 THERE IS NO MISSLE, JUST THE BARE PYLON, PLUS IT WOULD APPEAR THAT #3 WAS SHOT ON A DIFFERENT DAY, AS THE BACKGROUD CLOUD LAYER AND SKY COLOR IS QUITE DIFFERENT.
